You all suddenly feel cold and numb as if someone instantly froze you. Everything around you in the brewery is completely motionless, except for a beautiful half-elf that Frieda recognizes as Eloise. She approaches you. So, you are all friends of a certain gnome associate of mine, yes? What can I help you with?

Corelief says I know nothing of your gnome associate, but I am seeking a guide and it is my understanding that you are such and can guild us up the mountain. He places his hand on her next to her to settle her in case she becomes confused and wants to bolt.

Corelief smirks and raises an eyebrow at the same time. It appears your surprised. I guess that you didn't realize you repetition as a guide has proceeded you. Will you take the time to lead us up the mountain? Corelief tries even though it is obvious that the situation here is not favorable for leaving on such a trip. You just don't get teleported normally to meet a person. He is sure something is afoot and it no doubt doesn't include being a guide.

Good. So, you need guidance to the top of the Mount? To see the Oracle, I presume? That will be difficult, but doable. There are two paths. The least dangerous is through the mineshaft, but you'd have to get permission to use the mine. The other path is much more treacherous, especially this time of year.

Corelief smiles. I fear getting permission might be harder than the mountain trip and I'm sure the mines aren't the safest either. I have bought supplies to the trip up the side of the mountain to the Oracle, but you can look over such and see if more is needed. Corelief appears to be rather happy with the results.

She smiles lightly. I'm sure weather-wise you will be fine. It is, however, harpy mating season, so they will be out in force.

Indeed that may be a problem. Lets us hope we can traverse it fast and don't have an encounter. When do you believe would be the best time to start this adventure? Corelief is glad Frieda has spoken yet, but he is sure that tranquility will be broken.

They are seductive. Just about anyone who hears their song is charmed by their voice. They stop at nothing to lure you to your death. If one can endure their song, however, killing them isn't difficult. The problem is you rarely encounter less than six at a time. They do have natural predators though, such as the meazel, which seems to be unaffected by their song.
I would recommend leaving at early light. Harpy usually hunt in the evenings.
