OOC:
I mean there's got to be merchants who get robbed that want their stuff back. Repo Adventurers for hire is likely a thing someplace... I'll assist in your roll SB

Jabari and the blacksmith go back and forth furiously. Claims of the orc having to sell the clothes off his childrens back and Jabari having to trade his own beloved mother seem to crop up as the two bany figures back and forth before they finally settle at a price of 200 shields for the brigandine. The orc shakes their head ruefully before muttering to Jabari with a chuckle "Well, you at least best put a good word in with people about my work...." as he starts to take a few measurements.
OOC:
The armour will be ready in 2 days for Jabari.

Had a bit of a rethink on the purchasing front. For regular items we'll just do it as an appropriate roll (Negotiation, Streetwise, etc) based on the type of thing you are trying to locate and then will handle the price in a similar way to selling stuff (1 x success get's it at list price for the location, 2 x successes get's it at 75%, 3 or more successes get's it at 50%) for now and see how we get on.

I'll leave things until tomorrow to see if there's anything else you want to do before moving onto tracking down Darlene

OOC:
Looking at my money with the book in front of me (finally), I have determined...I would also like brigadine armor. I don't think I can really haggle however. This would also mean selling the leather armor, but only after I get the new set first.

Seeing Khurza eyeing the armor as well, "Out of curiousity how much would it cost for a set for a striking Orcish Battle Maiden? Bout the same possibly a discount?"
Oct 16, 2019 9:09 pm
OOC:
Yeah, might be a way to use Jabari's 2 advantages to say this guy will sell Khurza the same armor for the same price if that works with the GM. Jabari wants to buy a few other random things (some healing items, some rope, etc.). I'll roll Rarity for those in a jiffy.

The blacksmith gives Pomin a hard look before chuckling "Your a chancer aren't ya? I suppose it'll be easier doing two at once than separately. You lot better sing my praises if any one asks....oh, and a pint wouldn't go amiss" he says before gesturing for Kurza to come over to be measured up.
OOC:
Using the other advantages for that is fine. Going to close this out and will move onto you tracking Darlane down in a bit

"Oh I can definitely sing some praises of your work... while we're at it maybe we should spend more money here too..." Pomin states smiling impishly.

After Khurza is measured, Jabari heads a bit deeper into the commercial sector of the city. "I could use a few other things before we get into any more trouble--especially some healing elixirs. Shouldn't be too hard to find..."
OOC:
1 success, 3 advantage with Proper Upbringing. That means found it for book price, I believe? 3 Advantage maybe means the shopkeeper has enough in stock for the three of us (if Pomin and Khurza want to buy some elixirs).

Rolls

Negotiation for elixirs

1 Success, 3 Advantage, 1 Threat

Total: 1 Success, 2 Advantage

"...Thank you, Pomin." Khurza isn't entirely sure how to properly thank Pomin for his help in nabbing a deal, settling for gently patting him on the shoulder. She grins slightly, showing some of her teeth. It's obvious she isn't used to the interaction.
OOC:
I have 1 elixer still, but one more couldn't hurt.
Oct 21, 2019 8:20 pm
Jabari buys a lantern, some rope, and trail rations for ten days. From the elixir vendor, he buys three health elixirs ("Better than anything that goblin witch had, I wager!") and an immunity elixir ("Sounds like some Catfolk are using poison. Don't want to deal with that!"). The total expenditure is 250 crowns with 200 more for the armor.
OOC:
That's it for me for now. Leaves me a bit left over.

Pomin mostly looks into healing Herbs, healing Potions, and if possible an instrument (like a pan pipe).
Oct 22, 2019 2:15 pm
"We should be able to find a flute. Just listen."
OOC:
Well, with Proper Upbringing, that yields 2 advantage. But no instrument vendor. :( Maybe we get a lead on where to find one, but it will take some time?

Rolls

Negotiation for instrument (Rarity 2 after reduction)

2 Success, 1 Advantage, 2 Failure

Total: 1 Advantage

Oct 24, 2019 1:55 pm
OOC:
Ok, Rarity 4 would be for an instrument that is capable of being used as a Magic Implement, if it's just a regular set of pan pipes that Pomin is after then I'd say base rarity would probably be 0 and as such not need a roll. Cost would be 10 shields as it's a very simple instrument.

OOC:
I guess I should probably look for something for a bard so a magical one. Well maybe we find out they're fresh out of stock.XD

Whilst you find a number of merchants selling normal instruments you have trouble locating anyone selling something of sufficient quality to use with Verse. A couple of them suggest trying back in a week or two as they sometimes get stuff like that coming in but for now you're out of luck.
OOC:
You can bank the Advantage to gain a Boost die the next time you try to find an instrument that can be used as a Magical Implement within Dawnsmoor but you'll not be able to make another check for at least a week.
As you move round the merchants ward gathering the supplies you need you ask around for Darlane. A number of merchants give you directions to where she normally stays when she is in the city, an inn called the Wayward Wanderer down on the Docks. In short order you find yourself in front of it, it is set far enough back from the river front to avoid the more rowdy trade and looks to be a quite clean and well run establishment. As you enter the common room you can see a handful of patrons being served but otherwise the place seems pretty quiet. An older human woman, her red hair showing signs of grey, is working behind the bar giving instructions to some of the other staff but other than a glance in your direction as you enter she doesn't seem to pay you much mind.
Oct 29, 2019 11:58 am
"Greetings we are looking for the Merchant Darlane to see how she fared having arrived in Dawnsmoor safely after the incident on the road. Is she in or do you know her where abouts?" Pomin acquires with a smile.
Oct 29, 2019 1:45 pm
As Pomin greets the worker, Jabari scans the room. "So prim," he says to Khurza. "Not used to all this quiet."
Oct 30, 2019 4:45 pm
"No?" Khurza doesn't take her gaze from scanning the room for anything that might be a problem, or an asset. "I've grown terribly used to the silence, except for that damned bird. Doesn't matter now."
Nov 1, 2019 10:33 am
The woman looks at you for a moment seeming to be deciding how to respond "Who's asking?" she says before you hear a familiar voice come from the opposite end of the room "It's ok Jania, these are friends of mine....well, most of them are". You turn and see Darlane emerging from a private side room with a slightly surprised looking smile on her face "I thought I heard some familiar voices. Come join me won't you" she says as she heads back into the room.
OOC:
Can everyone make an Average Vigilance check please
Nov 1, 2019 1:39 pm
Jabari gives the woman a slight bow. "I am called Jabari Na'Hamada. It is a pleasure. I met these two on the road and beg your forgiveness if I am intruding on private business."
