Unfortunately, during Finn's deal, he stumbles on dealing the cards, being forced to avoid stacking them in his favor lest he be caught doing so. This round will be fair.

Finn won three silver with the superior hand.

The first officer swore and laid down his hand, while the second scratched his chin, shrugging. "Alright, fine. You take that hand."

"I'm not done!" the first guy said heatedly, fishing out another silver and slapping it down. "We're doing this again!"

The second officer followed suit. "Have the angry one shuffle this time, he'll probably do terrible." he said. He chuckled when he got slapped by the angry man.

If we're going to go again, might as well double it.

Beast of Burden
Doc looks at Greta out of the corner of his eye, watching her stare into her mug. He's 3 drinks in, but if she's finished talking he still has enough sense to leave the subject be...for now.

Rarely very hungry, Doc grabs a chunk of dried meat and takes a few modest bites.

"Bottoms up and then we head back?" Doc suggests

In response, Greta deadpans "I never got a chance to fight anybody, but maybe we’ll get lucky on the walk back to the fort?" Greta eats more dried meat and bread, washing it down with the tasty ale.

"Until next time Toyacheck!" she says, offering her hand again to the burly Taur behind the bar as she rises up ready to depart.
OOC:
Ready to go back to fort for long rest!

The angry officer clucks his tongue, taking up his silver. "Bugger's just trying to get money out of us. T's your name, halfling?"

The other officer takes up his own silver and takes a swig from the jug.

You can call me Ferruld. What, too afraid to play? I thought you were supposed to be the toughest, bravest, smartest soldiers in the world. But I guess that only applies to the grunts, not the officers. I put the deck in my pocket and turn to walk away.

The angry officer grits his teeth. "Watch it, little one. We're allowed to beat insurrectionists. Especially ones who start usin' the devils arts out of nowhere."

The other officer patted his arm and said quietly, but not too quietly for Finn to hear. "Calm down, Sedrus. We are the smartest, we don't fall for con artists twice."

The Barracks
"Thanks for the food and drink, Greta."
He says as they approach their room; a bit tipsy but genuine
"I am not so used to hospitality...and sometimes that is warranted. All the same I appreciate the company."

Greta nods in acceptance of Docaster’s words "You are good company too. You don’t talk too much. I like that."

The warrior shrugs off her mail shirt and arranges her weapons strategically around her bed, slipping the dagger under her pillow and cradling her sword like a favorite doll. She casts a wary glance over to where the wild cat and its mistress were and she mutters a
curse in Vatille before closing her eyes and drifting off to sleep.
