Yeah, go on Greta. Keep threatening the smallest one here. You and I both know Ian is nothing without you. . I take the opportunity to slip my shackles off again.

Finn was subsequently smacked by a large woman, taking 4 points of nonlethal damage. His head spun from the force of it, and he stumbled a step. The shackles clattered to the floor, as he'd slipped them again as well.

Zifu blinked, though her expression remained neutral. "To the courtyard. We can access the Legate's tower from there."

The party has the option of going to their right, where Ian had gone, or to their left. In the darkness, the fort looks entirely different - so prior experience will have little effect on where they are going.

The distant sounds of a jailer stubbing his toes in the dark could be heard.

"We go this way" says Greta, taking her torch back from Doc. And she moves off to the right.

Zifu followed, holding her lantern aloft. She tried her best to remember the steps they took for reference, and to stave off the disorientation.

I merely smile a bloody smile at Greta.

The party encroached upon Ian, who was trying to make his way in the dark.

Ahead of them was a stone wall, and to the left was another hallway that stretched into darkness.

The air was very still.

"Hello! Blondie!" Ian looks this way and that for the soldier, "Get'the fuck back here! This's no place ta be wanderin' blind!"

There was no response other than the quiet.

Greta stoops down holding her torch aloft looking at the ground for any sign of the jailer’s passage, before sniffing the cool air for any trace indicating where he may have gone.

Zifu looked at the wall and the hallway beyond, trying to reference these vague landmarks in her hazy recollection of the fortress layout.

"I think this way leads to the officers' quarters," said Zifu. She peered down the hallway.
Sep 20, 2019 2:50 am
"He went that way" she says pointing to the left with her sword.
Sep 20, 2019 2:52 am
The party began moving down the left corridor. To their right, a wooden door could be seen, currently closed.

Forward, the hallway continued.
Sep 20, 2019 2:58 am
Greta looks to Zifu and asks "Do you have some magic, or should I just kick this door down?"
Sep 20, 2019 3:04 am
Zifu stopped to look at both Greta and the door. "There may be another black skeleton on the other side. Let us stand clear," she said, moving at least 20 feet away.

She gestured with her hand, her red cord sparkling with gold thread in the lamplight. With a whispered word, a spectral, disembodied hand appeared by the door handle, and made to open the way slowly.

The hand pulled at the handle uselessly. It seems to be locked.
