"...the city fell"? Greta looks up from Finn upon hearing Axu.

"How long ago was that?" she asks, looking around at her companions.

Zifu looked over at Doc, then returned her attention to Axu. "I suppose we are," she said. "Our first night of introduction? The next morning before the sun rose, and it was the call to breakfast. Reports began to circulate about a body in the courtyard."

She continued, "Before we speak about the fallen city, what happened to you that morning?"
Sep 21, 2019 4:56 pm
"About... four days ago. I thought I was the only survivor initially, but a group of people are trying to escape the city."

She put her hand her hip satchel as she spoke further. "I came back for a few... things. But then I heard a scream come from this direction."

She looked over at Zifu. "I couldn't sleep, so I went out of the fort at around three in the morning for a walk. I had breakfast, and when I came back the fort was locked down." She shrugged helplessly.

"Oh. Ohhhh . . ." Ian says slowly before sighing and palming his face. "Oh shit." He motions for Greta to pull the new woman inside before he closes the door and tries to secure it. "Okay. Imma need ten minutes fer'a new plan . . ."

Greta ignores Ian’s direction and interjects over Zifu

"No. We are gonna talk about the city falling. How did it happen, and who are in your group? "

Her longsword still brandished and her body language indicates she’s not allowing Axu in, yet.

"You will forgive my questions," said Zifu. "It is disconcerting to think that a stranger entered our room while you were out, without triggering the alarm, who later became a black skeleton much like that found in the courtyard. Then to discover you alive and well, after our own encounter with someone impersonating a Drathian official."

Cyngi sent a note to CancerMan
"These... black skeletons kept popping up over the course of that day. Murders, or something. That is, until everybody started turning into them all over the place. I hid in a sewer, and then a day or two later, everybody was one."

She pursed her lips. "As for who is in my group... There's a big bull man, a smithing woman, and a dwarf engineer... or something of that nature."

She listened to Zifu's question after, not seeming preturbed at all at the bombardment. "Oh, that must have been my--"

There was the sound of rattling dry sticks coming from Axu's right down the hallway.

"Oh... Oh no, they're getting up again. Please, let me in. Or at least come out to help."
Sep 21, 2019 5:15 pm
Zifu sighed. "I can vouch for her affiliation," she said. "Please let her in, Ingvarsdottir."

I wave my hands and instruct Fingers to lock the doors.

"Greta, would y'rarher have a fight where yer in'a secure are with yer enemy cut off from each other or would you rather leave'the door open an let one'a those things in here?" He gives the big woman a small frown, "Bring'er in. Guard'er."

Greta steps aside and allows Axu in. Though the barbarian is normally the essence of bravado and perhaps even foolhardy at times, it’s obvious to all that hearing Axu’s tale has unnerved her.

To Docanter she says "Its just as it was in my homelands."

Axu came in, seeming more and more afraid as she stepped over the threshhold. A magic hand floated above her head, to assist Ian in barring and locking the door. The hand kept using the lockpick to attempt the lock the door, but it didn't seem to be working.
OOC:
Ian, how are you barring the door?
Sep 21, 2019 6:08 pm
With a frown, Ian starts to clear a space for them to sit and think. "Well, I guess that's the answer then. I knew it wasn' a plague." He takes in a slow breath out his nose before he nods, "Okay. Greta, Axu. I need ta know -everythin'- about what this curse does, how it infects, how it thinks an what the symptoms are." He reaches up to punch Greta lightly in the shoulder, "Don' worry, I've been in worse situations. Like, four times."
OOC:
Well if there is something easy like door handles we can shove something through we'll start with that. Then tables that we can weigh down with whatever is available.

OOC:
You have weapon racks with the remaining Gladius, Loricas, and the table in the center of the room. A few chests in the corner, and the grey chest Ian kicked.

Up until this point, Doc did not have a clear view of the woman; only the sound of her voice. Once she stepped into the room fully his expression changed to one of surprise and anger.
"You!" he said in a hushed but aggressive tone
"You were the one trying to get in my head the day we arrived!"
Sep 21, 2019 6:22 pm
Axu looked over at Doc, seeming baffled. "What?"
Sep 21, 2019 6:41 pm
"Don't bullshit me, I'd recognize that staff anywhere." he glowered
"I saw you in line for registry and next thing I knew it felt like someone was trying to break into my mind!"
Sep 21, 2019 6:48 pm
She seemed very confused. "Break into your...? I don't know how--

The shambling noises were growing closer. She looked over to the door that was being barricaded, and she set her staff on the wall. She moved over and began to help set a weapon rack against the door.
Sep 21, 2019 6:58 pm
Greta says to Axu "You said they’re getting up again, who’s getting up again?
Sep 21, 2019 7:00 pm
"The bones." she said simply.
