At Greta's suggestion, Zifu points to the first hallway and mentally asks her owl to take flight and scout the passage.

Yes. Greta (and Finn apparently) scouting the far passageway; Zifu's owl Hu is scouting the closer one.

Greta and Finn scout the far passageway. The glinting of the light off of the darkened water resulted in many instances of glancing around - thinking they've seen movement. As they creep down this corridor, it starts to sound as if there is more splashing - coming from farther down in the darkness...

Greta whispers to Finn, "Maybe rats? Is that hand of yours useful for anything other than causing trouble? Can it take a torch down that hall? she asks as she grabs another torch from her pack and lights it, holding it out for Palmer.

Nodding, Ian starts to head towards Zifu, "Okay. Then w'can get our bearings pretty easy." He carries the torch forward, gesturing with it towards Doc and the other mage. "I ain' keen on hangin' round here if it can be helped."

Finn's magical hand takes the torch, which starts floating disconcertingly. He focuses, and sends the hand down the hallway slowly.
As the torch moves down the hall, it reveals several thin, blackened forms meandering about in the water. Skeletons. A lot of them.
As the torch moves, the skeletons' heads seem to be following it. As if in near unison, they all start to look off in the direction the torch came from - toward Greta and Finn a mere 50 feet away. They begin to rise, one by one.

OOC:

One turn of prep for everybody, then I'll roll initiative.

And we got a BATTLE MAP. Lemme know if anybody can't access it and i'll interpret your moves for you.

I dismiss my hand, causing the torch to fall. I then take out my 1 gladius. Well, we might be boned, my dear.

If I have time, I'd like to use my naturally stealthy ability to hide behind Greta.
