The room the majority of the party was in was a disheveled, abandoned mess hall. Rows of long tables were beset by chairs that had been pulled back at various angles, signalling it had been quickly vacated by those previously sitting. The room itself was about 120 feet by 50 feet, small as mess halls go, and even smaller when considering the serving area on the western side of the room. Behind this area for servers was a heavy rope ladder with rungs of glossy brown wood leading up into a trap door at the top of the room about 25 feet up.
Next to that ladder was another, closed door of considerably cheaper looking wood. Aside from the party's entry door, the western door and trap door ere the only ways out of this room which made it defensible. Three embrasures lined the north wall, and while they were too narrow for egress, they filtered in dingy neutral light, which could belong to a severely faded day, or bright night.
