Zifu looked back to the minotaur. "Wasn't there a third...?" she began, but caught herself. "You know, never mind."

She stood there, and waited.

Not willing to take any chances, Ian moves along in the darkness, quietly padding his way to the long windows to take a look outside. If he can, he tries to determine where the group is and the fastest way to the Legate's office.

OOC:
Dm, could we get a description of the room we’re in? Entrances & exits? Ans what’s with the rope ladder Ian is climbing on.
Greta asks the group "So where to? We can’t stay in this place. It’s cursed and haunted and evil!"

The room the majority of the party was in was a disheveled, abandoned mess hall. Rows of long tables were beset by chairs that had been pulled back at various angles, signalling it had been quickly vacated by those previously sitting. The room itself was about 120 feet by 50 feet, small as mess halls go, and even smaller when considering the serving area on the western side of the room. Behind this area for servers was a heavy rope ladder with rungs of glossy brown wood leading up into a trap door at the top of the room about 25 feet up.
Next to that ladder was another, closed door of considerably cheaper looking wood. Aside from the party's entry door, the western door and trap door ere the only ways out of this room which made it defensible. Three embrasures lined the north wall, and while they were too narrow for egress, they filtered in dingy neutral light, which could belong to a severely faded day, or bright night.

The barbarian woman stands up from her chair and starts pacing around the room.

As she does so, she stops behind Docaster’s chair and she leans over to whisper something to the priest before she continues her pacing.

Venna sat uncomfortably, twitching her thumbs together.

Toyachek looked back at Axu, who was looking out of the window.

"Are we leaving soon?" he asked, a trace of annoyance in his voice.
Dec 23, 2019 4:47 am
"Momentarily," replied Axu, ducking back into the room. "You all still had business here, didn't you?"
Dec 23, 2019 5:09 am
"We had the idea of checking the Legate's office," said Zifu. She glanced upward at Ian before she spoke to Axu again. "I presume that is still the intention, as Lord Mardelik believes there are documents explaining what transpired here. I admit a certain curiosity myself, since the Drathian agent sent to neutralize Mr. Finn appeared to be involved in this incident."

Doc continues to sit in his chair ruminating; wanting more than ever to leave.

Greta, pacing like a caged predator looks back at Axu near the windows. She strides over and while looking out the window herself (what does she see?) asks the blue haired mage "What are you looking for Axu?"

Axu looked at Greta a moment, then pointed out the window and down.

"A raft we took from the seaside. We moored it there. A lot of the city is... flooded, it's as if the sea level has risen, but it has not and it's unclear where it all came from."
Dec 30, 2019 8:50 pm
"Is that the best way out of this city?" Doc asks, though any suggestion she has is likely to be distrusted

Ian returns to the top of the ladder, poking his head down to look at the others. "Hey, does anyone have'a big cloak or'a hood I'can borrow?" He lets the non sequitur hang in the air as he turns his attention to Zifu, "So what would ya say 'bout a phenomenon where exposed skin in moonlight causes cold an unpleasant tinglin' sensations but skin unexposed feels normal?"
Dec 30, 2019 11:25 pm
"An allergic reaction," Zifu immediately answered, "though moonlight as a cause is certainly peculiar." She tried to recall anything in her studies that might bear semblance to the described phenomenon.

"What, like a reverse vampire?" He snickers quietly before seeming to consider it, ending his internal thoughts with a frown. "Yeah, that's not really funny. I got gloves but I want somethin' ta cover my face. I'can get ya the Legate's office easily up here." He looked around at the others again, "Anyone wanna test if they is 'allergic' too?"

The young man seems calm about the situation, as if an allergy to the moon was just another problem to solve. "Doc. You've seen shit. Greta, you've seen the curse b'fore. Any ideas?"
