The woman was completely blank, staring at Zifu as if she'd spoken elaborate gibberish.

The Terrataur Toyachek however shook his head. "No. The city feels strange with nothing moving in it, but there was no tingling."

Zifu glanced up at those on the ladder, hoping to see an observable reaction.

As she watched, she said idly, "I agree with Ingvarsdottir. We are at a loss for answers, with no clues to find them."

"Toyachek?" she continued. "What is your purpose here? I'm sure we are appreciative of finding familiar faces, but we have no idea what is going on because we have evidently been out of the loop for several days. All this... silence and cryptic conversation is starting to become quite annoying."

Axu piped up at this. "We're finding survivors and leaving the city. I don't want us to lose one another..."

Zifu seemed satisfied with the replies, for now. "I would like to assist in this. Will you allow me to? My companion here is very smart and capable of flying to places to search for anyone alive." She was ready to send Hu out the window on a scouting mission.

Zifu smiled. She let Hu perch upon her finger and brought the owl before her, where she whispered quietly her request and scritched between his eyes.

If you feel that odd tingling sensation while you're out there, come back right away, she mentally conveyed, adding the importance of being safe. With an upward gesture, she released the owl into the air, towards the upper window.

"Hey, I asked fer conjecture. For all -I- know that might'a been how all these skeletons got made. An no, this's new. Normally I'd think nothin' of it but we ain' doin' normal right now, are we?" He offers a grin though, as if the situation was amusing no matter how seriously he was taking it. "An sure, send'im up. He'can get'a good view'a things. I'mma see if there's anythin' I'can use ta cover ma face though, can yer friend help with that?. If I'can get inta the Legate's office from here then I'can save us twenty minutes'a wanderin' around."

With that he disappears back into the upper floor he starts to search for anything that can cover his head and face. A tarp he can cut, an old blanket, anything.

If anything can be found, I'd like to use Ian's proficiency with a Disguise Kit for making a mask

I don't feel anything myself...I'm trying to remember if you did anything we didn't today that may have exposed you to something?

Hu 'hu'ted softly as he fluttered off of her hands, winging out into the night. Mere moments later, he came right back. He landed back on Zifu He ruffled in annoyance, pecking at his own armpit.

The room upstairs was very dark. The room felt full of miscellaneous objects, making it rather difficult to move across the room to the windows of the north wall without making some sort of noise. Greta would rise up the ladder to see Doc's silhouette in the middle window, and she can hear Ian skulking around and the tearing of some sort of cloth.

"Interesting," Zifu said to herself, soothing the owl. She addressed the others, "Hu felt the same thing as Lord Mardelik. Let me see if anything has happened to him."

She takes her loop of red cord and wraps it around two of her fingers, pulling and weaving a series of twists and loops.
OOC:
Beginning a ritual-cast of Detect Magic on Hu. If the party/NPCs decide it's time to move before the 10-minute casting is finished, Zifu will end the ritual to follow.

"Doc!" called out the hulking woman as she navigated the darkened room. Once she reached the window she nudged the cleric aside. "Lemme see if this tingly thing happens!"

Donning the mask, Ian checks to make sure he can see out of it fairly well before pulling on his gloves and pulled up the hood on his cloak for good measure. Using his hand to shield his eyes, as if the moon were the noon sun, he goes to lean out the window again, to see if there's an easy way to get to the Legate's office from the windows.
