Kalam goes totally defensive and takes a deep calming breath. He closes his eyes and strains his senses. Should something abnormal approach he will strike.
Nov 8, 2019 3:49 pm
"If there are spirits here they'd be a different manner of beast. The creature that charged at me and knocked me over was a flesh and blood one as far as I can tell." Wu Meng was on guard as well, listening to see if he could tell at which angle the creature might strike. "Watch and listen for its sting."
Nov 8, 2019 5:59 pm
Feng slams her fist together, sparks fly from the impact and a distinct *Crack* is produced. As she separates her hands small wisps of fire jut from her wrists, like blades of fire.
Her Head jitters in every direction -natural angle or not- while her body is low, like a feral beast ready to pounce.
I can't delete my dupe post, odd.

Feng's flaming blades light up the chamber just as the beast charges Mimi.
Kalam, you are the most prepared to defend. What do you do?
Iko and Wei, you two are still up on ground level. You can see this happening. What do you do?

Iko attempts to climb down after Mimi, putting the handle of the dagger in his mouth as he scrambles down.

Kalam sees the beast just as it charges Mimi. Years of muscle memory and reflex training take over. Even before he mentally decided to move, he was in motion. His body charging the beast, putting himself between it and Mimi. His sole thought being to protect these people.
His daggers a blur of motion as he intervenes, a torrential wave of steel clashes before the creature.

Torrential
Your attack ends with a flurry of strikes that your opponent must dedicate effort to blocking or avoiding. If they instead attack you in response to your attack, deal your damage again (this does not apply techniques).

Kalam, mark 1 XP, and take the damage below. The scorpotaur charges. Kalam meets it head on, his blades flashing, but the desperate beast plows through him, sending the Disciple of the Sky flying!
It's up to you now, Meng and Feng! What do you do?
Mimi and Iko, what do you do?
Wei, do you join them down in the crypt? Will the Kun Wu broadsword put an end to this monster?

Meng could see Kalam bear the brunt of the charge, as he himself was gored earlier. With a roundhouse kick, he sent another loose rock flying in the direction of the scorpotaur.

Mimi curses as she tries to get up, but the pain is too over bearing. She takes her spear, stick it in the rocks behind her and points it at the murderous beast. If it comes charging at her again, she hopes it could Stab and stop the beast before it runs her over. As this happens, Orengi the fox gracefully leaps down after Iko to look after Mimi.

Once more, Meng's flung rock connects with the scorpotaur's skull with a loud crack! The monster is in pretty bad shape.

OOC:
Mimi, that sounds like Defend. Roll 2d6 and possibly gain Hold, which you can spend when the monster attacks you. Possible effects include halving incoming damage, or opening the monster up to an ally's attack. Alternately, you can Volley with spear or bow! It's awkward because your leg prevents you from positioning yourself correctly. You take -1 on it, but you can do it!
Nov 9, 2019 1:30 pm
Iko grabs the knife from his teeth and uses it to take a closer look at Mimi's broken leg. He wishes she would stop trying to move on, but luckily, the bone doesn't seem to have broken the skin. Positioning his hands around each half of her leg while she steadies herself with the spear, Iko gives a quick prayer to Dai'shan as he sets the bone and tries to heal the resulting pain.
At your touch wounds scab and bones cease to ache. Heal an ally you touch of 1d8 damage.

Iko mends Mimi's leg. It's good enough to take her weight, but she'll walk with a limp for a few days. The magical glow of Dai'Shan's blessing draws the monster's attention, and it charges the cleric and ranger. Mimi braces her spear against the charge, but suddenly Feng is there, sliding to the ground, slashing its belly open with her flaming blades! With a final bellow, the scorpotaur collapses, gutted like a fish.
The beast is no more! Next to where it lies, there are signs of a passage to what might be a lower level of this crypt.
What do you do?

Kalam picks himself up off the floor, realizing that he was flung over to the opposite side of the small crypt. He gasped at the pain in his side. "By the spirits.." he breaths. Then looks over at the corpse of the beast. "No wonder the guard didn't want to deal with it. The casualties would have been numerous. Think it broke a rib or two." Kalam winces as he tries to take a deep breath.
Nov 10, 2019 5:13 am
"Life from death, begin again." Feng has blood on her hands, but it simply burns away. Her flaming swords dissipate as she stands up and take a sharp breath. "We should take it's head, as proof." She bats off the dirt from her ragged clothing, looking at the beast with something close to disgust.
