"which kind of chip? Corn, tortilla, potato? I'm up for anything as long as there is good dip."

Mavis rolls hers eyes, and mutters Flippin' 'eck! Pack it in tha' sarky sods.

She clears her throat, and in her plummiest common:
Gentle Ruby, tarry a scant moment, I pray. I feel I discern that whilst our valorous superordinate has resolved to procure hostelry and ancillary services in the general; he has yet to determine the selection in the particular.
Hasan, would you have us sally forth and reconnoitre alternative lodgings; that, perchance, we might construct an authoritative ontology of suitability? Or should we hazard a trio of auric specie on the establishment with which we are pro tem co-located?

Mavis shakes her head and beams a wry, friendly smile at her colleagues
Tha' daft ha'p'orths

"Is she still speaking common? Did she switch back to her native orcish?"
Dec 9, 2019 8:13 pm
Hasan looks at Mavis with shock at how clear her speaking had become. "Uhh... " He seems to be gasping for words.. OH, Um.. I don't see why not if the group is ok forking up the gold to stay."

He'll lean down to Mavis and whispers. "I don't think this is the man who would take kindly to people uh... bar hopping if you know what i mean."

The confusion on Hehsh and Hasan's face gives Mavis some cheeky pleasure, but she confesses
That's 'ow our Sandra spakes. Her were 'ead girl at Cheltenhammers Ladies' College. 'Er spake reet posh when 'er wants to - or when 'er's mardy at me.
Mavis takes out the three gold pieces and pays the old man.

She turns back to Hassan.
Ah'll not be bar 'oppin'. Ahm tekkin' bath then gettin' grub. Does tha' think it'll be spicy? Ahm missin' spicy grub, there's nowt like proper spicy dwarven fungus.

Still having never understood a word spoken by Mavis, Hehsh leaves the group to inspect the premises. What is the clientele like inside the building?

Garth plays the man for one night, but tells him our business may take more than a day.

So, shall we eat, bathe, maybe have a drink, then try to find the person we want in the morning?
Dec 10, 2019 5:26 am
"YES! I mean, that would be lovely." Ruby is really hoping she's not the only one getting hangry.
OOC:
What a wild two pages this has been.
Dec 10, 2019 7:46 am
Mavis is confused, as they enter the inn she asks Garth:
"Person we want"? What gives, Garth? It were Blackwater where wi' find Mordenth, weren't it?
Great Delta is just stop on way - nowt special.
OOC:

All I have is:
Qralloq says:

"Mordenth can be found in the independent city of Blackwater. He maintains an elven persona of da'Norto Illianstar, whose reputation is as colorful as his name. Find Mordenth, and then tell him that he and I met in a thunderstorm under a full moon, and he will assist you as he would me."
Machiabelly says:

...The second night would be Great Delta, a much rougher town. Keep your hands on your purse there. Then at the end of the third day, we should make Blackwater.
I thought this was just a narrated stop (unless the DM throws a quest at us), before we pick up the main quest in Blackwater.
What did I miss?
Dec 10, 2019 5:29 pm
Hasan is also confused about the person. "Perhaps we need a guide to get from here to Blackwater?"

Hasan also shuffles though is person and pulls out the currency needed for the night.

OOC:
Sorry. I had the wrong place.
I meant fly on to Blackwater. Sorry, I too am tired and hungry.
Dec 10, 2019 10:11 pm
"Let's eat, sleep, and then head on."
Dec 10, 2019 11:48 pm
Aye. There’ll be time nuff fer fancy baths after graft is done.
Mavis understands that it’s important that they all get a good night’s sleep so that they can head off early.
OOC:
and with luck there won’t be any more weird unicorn induced dreams.

Rips up notes on the Saga of the Unicorn Dreamers
The night passes uneventfully. When you awaken its to the sound of men at arms preparing for deployment. For what or for whom are they readying?
Dec 11, 2019 10:23 am
After dressing quickly, taking care to secure her daggers, Mavis leaves her room to rouse the party.

Stopping the first employee/slave she sees, Mavis asks politely:
What all fuss? Tha' expectin' trouble?
Dec 11, 2019 1:00 pm
"Dust storm!" She cries and rushes off with her hammer and bucket of nails.

You note that the air seems still; it's not at all windy.
Dec 11, 2019 7:13 pm
Garth is used to the sounds of men preparing for trouble.
He gets dressed including armour and weapons.

Is there trouble coming? he asks someone scurrying by.
Dec 12, 2019 2:21 am
Ruby gathers all her gear and investigates the cause of the disturbance to the best of her ability, which is to say she catches what the terrified person shouts and thinks real hard while catching up to Mavis. Her results are less then favorable. "I've never been in a...'dust' storm before, why do you think they need all those soldiers?"
Dec 12, 2019 2:34 am
Garth gets the same response, a servant yells, "Dust Storm!" as they run past. "Storm brings Dust Devil's!"

Ruby, too, heard that. Downstairs, the militia company is gearing, checking each other's armor and weapons. A commander waves you over. "Your crew. Can you fight?"
Dec 12, 2019 2:53 am
We can fight if needed. What are we facing?
