Jahred had been ready to fire again, however the momentary dimming of light, the damage to the cave, and the downing of the closest person he had to a friend around here had distracted him. That wasn't the whole truth, but he needed to mull over what he had heard before he came to any conclusions.

His first priority was to check on Faerlin. Moving carefully through the damaged floor, he'd go to the Dragonborn's side and do his best to help her back to her feet. "You had me worried there for a moment." He said, before turning to the knight. "And for what it's worth, you have my thanks, Sir."

Looking up at the towering Dragonborn Ranos rests his chin in his clawed hand, "but what do they want? Did they tunnel in here? Where did they come from?" Kneeling on the ground, he opens a worn leather satchel at his side, removing various knick knacks including a chicken bone, a well-worn gambling die, and an oddly-shaped rock. He toss them onto the ground then gets down onto his hands and knees peering closely at this. "The fates say..." then his eyes get large as he looks down towards the tunnel.

If we want to interrogate the sorcerer, I speak the language of the goblins.

"And the Frozen King bless your fortunes," the knight says to Faerlin, one holy servant to another.

With that, the knight returns to the rest of the guard. The human woman that browbeat the guard captain into letting you use the cave stood in front of the now thoroughly restrained goblin mage, her anger rolling off her in veritable waves.

As the rantar finishes looking through the goblin's pockets, he nods at Wahuhi. "The gobbo sork still draws breath, we should talk to it, if you do not," he stammers a bit, "Uh... brain?" Then, after a couple of seconds in contemplation, his right index finger triumphantly thrusts towards the sky and his eyes shoot open in recollection, "mind! I meant if you do not mind." He shows the party a linen handkerchief, embroidered with the initials "B.T.". "I's got off of the gobbo; mayhaps a clue?"

Faerlin walk over to the captive. I can't speak its language but if you wish to force it to talk. I'm more than willing to aid you.
OOC:
Faerlin can aid if any wishes to intimidate it for information.

What should I ask? My people do not usually take prisoners.

Thinking quickly Ranos says, "to starts we should asks who leads it, where it cames from and how many mores of its there are." He leans down over the fallen goblin's head and places both hands in the air above its forehead, as if preparing to pound a bongo drum. He looks up at the group with a wink and says, "readies?"

After being slapped awake, the bound goblin mage briefly struggles against the rope holding it fast. Soon realizing its predicament, it takes in its surroundings, more specifically the multiple armed and rather angry individuals surrounding it.

"Orzuzak in biiiig trouble now," the goblin says in broken Common, amusement coloring its tone.

"Tazarzak Korth gonna smashy smashy ganish-aba and korokoro. Tribe come. Tribe kill men, take breeders, turn ganish-aba into coat and korokoro into soup. Then Tazarzak Korth make tribe mightiest in mountains."
OOC:
As you may have noticed, goblins are not the friendliest of creatures.

Now I want to hear about your tribes short comings lately. Have they made any good treasure to make me think about keeping you alive?

Staring up into Faerlin's looming gaze, the goblin can be seen restraining fear. Its eyes jump between individuals, both those immediately surrounding it and elsewhere in the camp.

"Tazarzak Korth lead nasty orzu to tribe. Tribe drop mountain on orzu, take guktan. Ganzath Korth come, take guktan orzu from tribe for Tazarzak Korth, tell tribe to kill any ganish-aba or korokoro that come through. Tribe know orzuzak use cave, keep guards watching."

Manneo looks around at the group. Looking back around at the cavern, he simply states his opinion. Ehh, someone squash the bug. We want answers, let's go down the tunnel it came from.
Nov 1, 2019 2:23 pm
So, some green lady led a non-goblin to the tribe. The tribe dropped the mountain on the non-goblin, took a book, someone took the book to the green lady, told the tribe to kill anyone in the cave. I shrug. Seems like the ramblings of a mad man.

I look back at the goblin.

While Faerlin had certainly scared the wretch into talking, Jahred kept an eye out for signs of dishonesty, but while some tells were fairly universal, he had never dealt with goblins before. Something would need to be done, regardless, given the goblins who fled would likely just regroup and return for another fight. He couldn't help but think they had been lucky this time.

"Does it know anything more about the book?" He asked, thinking it would be prudent to get more information about such a thing.

Eyes jumping from one questioner to the next, the goblin swallows in nervousness, before doing its best to answer the various questions.

"Not know much about book, kept hanky what was in it. Ganzath Korth talky talky 'bout blood, breeders, needing to rip-tear book. Tribe try burn book for meat-fire, but book no burn. Tribe happy book gone, book that no burn evil.

"Tazarzak Korth past mountain, far-far-far ways. Tribe never meet Tazarzak Korth, always orzuzak. Recognize from magic eyemulet. Like now! Guards see eyemulet before attack."
OOC:
Arcana: You can't think of anything specifically that would do so, but it doesn't sound outside the realm of possibility. Essentially it sounds possible but not in your area of expertise.

Insight: Like Jahred noted, he's not used to dealing with goblins but from everything he can tell it seems like the goblin is telling the truth.

"What do dis means?" Ranos asks while waving the embroidered handkerchief in the goblin's face. "B and T."
Nov 5, 2019 3:56 pm
"It stands for Bedarim Tarados. Heir to Count Ædrin Tarados," comes a patchwork of different voices and pieced together words and sentences.

Turning around, the speaker is the kenku from before, head twitching and fingers scratching at exposed skin plucked of feathers. Around the kenku's neck is an amulet with a carving of an eye.

"Mistress demands the patsies deaths. Rest have heard too much."

Unnerved by the words coming from the kenku, the woman cautiously asked, "Creak...what are you saying?"

"...die," was all he said in response before opening his beak wide and with a shrieking cackle, twin emerald beams shot out from within. One curled around and dug into the ceiling above the cave entrance, bringing down rock and debris, while the other continued onward and impacted the goblin's head, the force turning its target into paste.

With a cry akin to the raven he resembled, the kenku leapt over the gathered crowd and clung to the ceiling. Moving on all fours like a feathered, demented spider, it scurried down the tunnel into the mountain, it's cries echoing all the way.
