OOC:
Did Faerlin also get her lost HP back when leveling too? or she still off some?

Ranos glances around from side-to-side briefly but is completely engrossed in his portent pouch and not paying a lick of attention.
OOC:
lol, this is how wizards get one-shot.

OOC:
I have to leave for work, so a short bit now, with a longer followup later today.
As you slowly make your way into the tunnel, gingerly stepping over loose rubble, the glow of light from Faerlin's spell illuminates the walls of the tunnel. Your steps echo off the walls, leading deeper in.

The initial passageway seems clear, before narrowing sharply, only allowing one or two to pass at a time. As you step through, your eyes fall upon a rock formation that vaguely looks like a body slumped over a horse.

Faerlin leads the way and cautiously approaches the odd rock formation of a body slumped over a horse with keen interest.
Nov 19, 2019 1:43 am
As you make your way further in, almost immediately to your right is a small passageway that dead ends, filled with barrels and a chest. Apparently used by the goblins for storage. From there the tunnel splits into two directions, one moving straight ahead, and to the left is apparently where the majority of the goblins reside.

To your fortune, the goblins don't seem to have noticed you, gathered around a central figure in the center of the room. To your shock, somehow the goblins managed to "tame" a massive bug, nearly the size of Wahuhi. Its massive mandibles look large enough to snap a tree in two, its legs are covered in barbs and hooks, perfect for snagging prey.

Behind the chanting and cheering goblins, two children huddle in fear.
OOC:
Forgot to mention, but yes, Faerlin is fully healed.

As for the Perception checks, due to both Faerlin and Meneloss scoring so well, I'm treating it as getting the drop on the goblins. So surprise round! Everyone take a turn, and include your initiative roll alongside attack rolls, etc. Learning from last time, map is down below. Yellow's PCs, Red are enemies, white are the two children mentioned above.

Ranos looks up from his bag of divining implements, points his fingers at the giant bug with a smirk on his face and says, "it goes slippery up in der!"
OOC:
I am going to cast Grease on as many of the enemies as I can, starting with the giant bug, and avoiding as many friendlies as possible.
[ +- ] Grease
OOC:
I am also burning one of my Portent rolls to make the bug's Dexterity save a natural 3. Hopefully the melee folks can focus down the bug since it'll be prone.

Meneloss scans the ceiling as he looks for the Kenku.

If he sees the strange spell caster he will shoot it, otherwise he picks the goblin closest to him and looses an arrow at it instead. Then the elf takes a step back and around, clinging to the cave wall to take cover.

Faerin is very much an up front gal and charges the mess with full intention to take a goblin in surprise. She chooses a spot where she can use her breath weapon to go across as many of the goblins and the bug at once. She is calling upon her faith while doing so to inflict as much damage as is possible.

If Jahred hasn't gone by the time I get ready for work tomorrow, I'm going to skip him and add his initiative slot at the bottom of the list.

As Ranos casts his spell, three of the seven goblins shriek as the grease causes them to slip and fall onto their backs, an arrow flying over one of the goblins as it fell while another found its mark in the neck of one of the goblins that remained standing. As the goblins and bug slip and slide, Farlin runs to the side of the group and, glowing holy symbol in hand, opens her mouth to let loose a blast of lightning, catching all but two of the goblins.

The goblins shriek in pain, one of which collapses in a charred, shaking mass. With a sound like a mix of skittering and hissing, the bug puts its legs under it, forcing itself upright. Spotting the closest target, it lets out a shriek before spitting out a line of oozing green liquid. Some of the liquid lands on the goblin between it and Faerlin, causing it to shriek in terrified agony for a moment, before it falls to the ground, a hole in its head where the liquid landed.

OOC:
Same as before; blue is prone, black is obviously dead. All but one of the goblins made their save putting them dangerously close to dead (except for the one between it and Faerlin), while the bug took full damage and is both hurt and pissed off.

Faerlin needs to roll a Dexterity saving throw.

OOC:
I'll allow the late action this time, but from here on out if anyone misses the surprise round, too bad.
An arrow from Jahred finds its way into the neck of one of the still standing goblins, dropping it with a gurgle, while Faerlin frantically twists out of the way of the line of bile spat by the bug.

The two goblins that fell to Ranos's grease frantically slip and crawl out of the grease slick as they get their feet under them, before turning around and seeing their only way out blocked off. Desperate, they grab their bows and try to shoot at those between them and the exit.
OOC:
Faerlin takes 5 acid damage from a successful Dex save. Goblin 1 is aiming at Meneloss while Goblin 2 is aiming at Ranos.

...I think it's safe to say that both goblins hit.

Meneloss grimaces in pain from the goblin's arrow. Luckily one of the steel plates in his leather armor stopped the missile from doing more damage.

The holy warrior intones a prayer to Corellon for protection, and in an instant he is surrounded by a shimmering field. Encouraged by the protective aura, Meneloss quickly knocks another arrow and looses it at the goblin who shot him.
