"Enough!" Ranos practically roars as he points his finger, rubbing his sachet of divining trinkets with his other paw.
OOC:
I am casting Mind Spike, Creak will need to do a Wisdom saving throw DC 14.

Rolls

Potential Mind Spike Damage - (3d8)

(584) = 17

Dec 19, 2019 12:29 am
Jahred drew his rapier and moved, trying to get into a flanking position with Faerlin and the mad kenku, though any of his companions would do. He lunged out the moment he saw a vital to strike.
OOC:
Not sure if you're running with flanking = advantage or at least permitting sneak attack, ignore the relevant dice rolls if not.

Rolls

Attack - (1d20+4)

(11) + 4 = 15

Sneak attack advantage! (?) - (1d20+4)

(20) + 4 = 24

Damage maybe! - (1d8+2)

(4) + 2 = 6

Sneak damage maybe! - (1d6)

(5) = 5

Even with magic flying, the mad kenku caws with laughter, seemingly not noticing the tip of the rapier piercing his flesh.
OOC:
Well, you guys have done serious damage despite otherwise appearances. I'm guessing that Faerlin planned on Creak going blind, which gives the your attacks advantage and his disadvantage until he either makes a new Con save or dies. Up next is another PC then his turn.

Rolls

Blindness/Deafness - (1d20+2)

(7) + 2 = 9

Mind Spike - (1d20+5)

(3) + 5 = 8

Anise stood by, holding her melee weapon firm, still unsure of the situation let alone those involved. Her shield imposed between herself and the action, the Firbolg moved away from the others, not wishing to be caught up in some personal feud.

"Remembers we gots tah bring him in alive!" Turning to the furbolg Ranos says, "dey is 'sperimenting on childrens! We needs to capture its!"
Dec 24, 2019 3:15 pm
Cawing in mad glee, a green glow built up in the back of creak's may before twin beams of energy lashed out. One curled around him to strike at Jahred while the other flew towards Faerlin.
OOC:
This is probably going to be my only post until Monday, as work has gotten a little crazy with the holidays.

So Jahred takes 7 damage, and gets pushed back 10 feet, while the blast aimed for Faerlin goes wide.

(11) + 6 = 17

Faerlin Eldritch Blast (Disadvantage) - (1d20+6)

Faerlin Eldritch Blast (Disadvantage) - (1d20+6)

(7) + 6 = 13

Jahred hissed in pain as he was struck by the beam of energy. He had been in a couple scrapes before, on the losing end of them as well, an none of those cuts or beatings had hurt quite like this. So he opted to take his anger out on the mad Kenku, and if the creature stayed standing long enough for him to find an opening, he'd attacked, only instead of piercing the birds throat like he wanted, he'd clock the creature over the head.

Rolls

Attack (With Advantage) - (1d20+4)

(3) + 4 = 7

Attack (With Advantage) - (1d20+4)

(11) + 4 = 15

Possible Damage - (1d8+2)

Sneak Attack - (2d6)

(43) = 7

The mad bird's cackle was abruptly cut off with a squawk as a pommel slammed into his head, causing him to drop like a puppet with its strings cut. He lays on the ground still, the only sign of life the rattling breaths in his chest.

Around his neck, an amulet shaped like an emerald eye begins to flow with a faint light.
Dec 30, 2019 5:36 pm
"We should binds it and get it back to the caravan." Bending down to inspect the amulet, Ranos wracks his brain...

Rolls

Arcana on the amulet - (1d20+5)

(7) + 5 = 12

History on the amulet - (1d20+5)

(6) + 5 = 11

Dec 30, 2019 6:06 pm
Faerlin breaks off her attack as she sees it fall. We should be quick about it as she access the situation.

OOC:
Arcana: You pick up an odd magical aura around the amulet, as if it was one of a pair. With some time, you could probably devise a ritual to lead you to the other end of the connection with its counterpart.

History: You got nothing.

Lowering her guard as the action seems to come to a close, the small-giant looks about the others before approaching Jahred to look over the wound. "Does it hurt sir? Do you require medical attention?" They were going in to bind the attacker, not kill him, so Anise put her shield away and resumed the hold on her staff more like a walking-stick. "...Also... could someone please tell me what is happening?"

Looking up at the towering furbolg Ranos responds, "dis ting is workin' wit some gobbos to capture kids. Also dey may have stolen a magical book. We need to gets it backs to the caravan and dah lady quickly so we cans talks to it." He looks back down at the unconscious Kenku and reaches down, pocketing the amulet. Sadly, he says, "its name is 'Creak'. I tinks it suffers from madness."
Jan 2, 2020 10:13 pm
Jahred hissed and gritted his teeth. "Not gonna lie. That hurt." Of course the slight man was far less capable of taking a hit than, say, Faerlin or Anise, but there was work to be done. "If you're offering healing, I'll gladly accept, but first..." He removed his rope and proceeded to tie the mad Kenku up, taking care that the accursed beak was bound as well.
Jan 3, 2020 4:22 pm
Faerlin takes up the Kenku to bring back to the main cavern. Lets bring him back see if we can something out of it before it perishes.

How horrible! She thought, gripping the handle of her solid shield. Pleased that the others had acted so quickly, as while her own intuition was correct to lead her this way, she was no match for what she found within. "My name is Anise... thank you, heroes, for their and my rescue." In thanks, she felt obligated to give a reward. "Please accept this healing, in appreciation."

Lifting a hand to gesture, her voice comes as a harmonized mantra filling the space around them with a warm soft light.

Rolls

Cure Wounds - (1d8+3)

(6) + 3 = 9

Jan 4, 2020 4:44 pm
Faerlin seems to not be worried about Anise as she didn't aid the Kenku in the attack. At this time Faerlin worry less about her and is more interested in bring her load to the main hall.
Jan 4, 2020 7:28 pm
"Pleased to be having the healings, Anises. We should goes now before its awakens."

Ranos turns to follows Faerlin back towards the caravan, his feet making soft padding noises along the floor.

As the group hauls the still unconscious Creak into the main cavern, the lead woman spots you first and makes her way over after gently setting down Lily (the younger girl from before) from her lap onto the cot-like chair she had been sitting in. Spotting the movement, the Frosthorne knight also makes his way over, hand tight against the hilt of a hunting knife still in its sheathe.

Barely taking the time to notice Anaise, the woman grabs Creak by his beak and, in a surprising display of strength, single handedly drags the bird over to a firepit, the members of the caravan that were warming up deciding to help with moving the rock out of the entrance way.

Unsurprisingly, the rough treatment caused Creak to regain consciousness, just in time for her to shove his face next to the fire, the threat apparent in her voice, "Now then Creak, you are going to tell us everything that we want to know. I see even a hint of anything but words coming out of that beak of yours we'll see just how flammable your remaining feather are. Am I clear?"

Despite the position he was in, Creak's whole body shook with restrained laughter, as privy to some elaborate joke that no one else was aware of.

"Stupid human tykekt. I don't know what's funnier. The fact that YOU THink that your albino flat-face intimidates me, or the fact that you think my Mistress would LET ME LIVE if you did!"
OOC:
Sorry for going quiet for almost a week, work has been exhausting combined with adjusting my sleep schedule in preparation for night classes later this month. In any event, here's an update with Creak channeling Jan Valentine from Hellsing Ultimate Abridged.
