The first mission

Stein turns to Petris, looking at him in silence, waiting for permission to engage the ennemy...
Dec 22, 2019 4:45 am
Petrix reached down into his belt, drawing out his long combat knife, holding it in one fist, bracing his boltgun on the other. He switched his fire selector to Stalker rounds, giving the faintest nod to his Assault marines. They were in close quarters, and had the element of surprise. Hopefully his squad could tear them down in an explosive attack without raising too much of an alarm...
Dec 22, 2019 5:20 am
Cloten flexes his chainsword-wielding hand, bolter also ready, armor ready to spring into action.
Dec 22, 2019 8:07 am
OOC:
While it would probably be impossible to avoid raising an alarm with the synaptic communication of the Tyranid, please proceed with the explosive attacks. You are taking your combat turn now, so I expect some rolls for shooting, slashing, charging and otherwise gory options.

Just as soon as the front two Space Marines had made room. "Clear the lane, Brothers." The vox bristled with the hard R's and drawn vowels of the Storm Warden's accent, as on lightfoot motion, Kenshen and his heavy bolter stepped forward. It was as if his brothers had waited specifically for him, and gladly the Storm Warden took what he felt had been his cue.

With Brothers Stein and Cloten in position, and Brother Elyas at his near his side, Ken calls, "For the Emperor!", and with the smoothest squeeze, the bolter came alight in a controlled burst.

Rolls

Heavy Bolter attack (6 round burst) - (1d100)

(28) = 28

Dec 22, 2019 3:52 pm
And for you, my love! Ken's heavy bolter held firm to his the raise of the recoil, bouncing against his aim, but through shear strength and faith in the Emperor, his target was struck.
OOC:
That's five Degrees of Sucess before dodge... right?
Dec 22, 2019 6:26 pm
Just before Kenshen opens fire, Stein takes position in front to be sure that if a counter attack comes he would be the first target. Once Kenshen opens fire, Stein follows with a semi-auto burst from his bolter... but before he manages to hit anything, his weapon jams..

Rolls

WP 87 (Base 47 + 30 from surprise + 10 from Semi-auto burst) - (1d100)

(95) = 95

Dec 22, 2019 6:59 pm
Cloten suppresses the desire to jump into the middle and lay about with the chainsword, and also fires a semi-auto burst focusing on his end and working toward the middle.

Rolls

BS 44+10 SAB - (1d100)

(46) = 46

Damage - (2d10+5)

(910) + 5 = 24

Dec 23, 2019 3:11 am
@Kenshen You have a BS of 53, +20 because of Full auto Burst so 73. With a roll of 28. That makes four extra degrees of success or 5 hits total. You can allocated those hits as you wish between targets within 2 meters (4 out of the 6 targets).

You roll damage of 1d10+12 Pen 5 with the Heavy Bolter. Because of the tearing quality, you roll 2d10 and pick the highest to calculate damage for each hit.

@Stein Unjamming the weapon take a full action and a successfull BS check. The current ammo in the clip will be lost.

@Cloten Your SAB succeed with 1 hit. Damage (from the liviniig errat is 10+9 pen 4 tearing). With tearing, you choose the highest dice of the 2 you rolled. The 10 allows you to roll for a Righteous fury. Roll an extra BS check with same diff and success give an extra d10 of damage!
Dec 23, 2019 3:38 am
OOC:
Rolling for Righteous Fury

Rolls

BS 44+10 SAB - (1d100)

(5) = 5

Extra damage - (1d10)

(9) = 9

With the opening salvo loosed, Ar'Mat stepped forward and raised the hellfire flamer in his left hand, while his right held his force sword. He wasted no words on such filth, and with stoic dedication squeezed the trigger to bathe the xenos in cleansing flame.
OOC:
Flame weapon, enemies can make agility test to dodge, then if failed must make a second one or catch fire.
8+9= 17 damage, Pen 5, damage ignores natural armor (hellfire special).

Rolls

Flamer Damage (tearing) - (2d10)

(83) = 11

Dec 23, 2019 1:41 pm
OOC:
4 successes,okay... We'll say split it between two closeby targets?

so 2d10 (drop to lowest) +12 / hit?

15, 18 to fire target
16, 17 to second target?

Banshionna says:
OOC:

OOC:
The degrees of sucesses are kinda counted after the initial success. So you got 1 hit for succeeding the roll and 4 extra hits for the four "additional" degrees of success for a total of 5.
Dec 23, 2019 10:03 pm
extra hit on first...

=19 damage

bolter damage - (2d10+12)

(37) + 12 = 22

Kenshen's tight bolter volley opens the actions. The Hormagaunts react quickly, darting to the side to escape. One of them was not fast enough, however, receiving a sacred bolt in the chest that pierce straight through his chest and exploded him in pieces.

Cloten's target was similarly unlucky as the last bolt of the burst ripped him in two.

As the cleansing flame of Ar'Mat flamer washed on the rest, two more fell, literally melting into piles of chitin and charred organs.

The last two had escaped on both side and are turning to charge in your direction.
OOC:
Elyas and Petrix moves are left before the Hormagaunts finish their actions.
Dec 28, 2019 6:28 pm
Shots were fired. From the rear of the formation, he watched as the marines spread to the side of the corridor, opening a gap for the burst of heavy bolter fire, before opening up on the distant cluster of Xenos. His brows furrowed as his auto-senses darkened against the bright plume of flame from their eager assault marine, watching as the two Xenos began to scurry towards them, incited to a rage.

Seeing the effectiveness of the volley, he switched back to standard bolts, holding his fire carefully as he aimed through the vast ceramite columns of his battle brothers. A single bark sounded as he fired between them, hoping to bring down one of the beasts before it hit their line.

Rolls

Boltgun Attack: 52 [42 (BS) + 10 (Bolter Mastery)] - (1d100)

(97) = 97

Boltgun Damage - (1d10+11, RA)

(1) + 11 = 12

Boltgun Damage (Tearing) - (1d10+11, RA)

(6) + 11 = 17

Dec 29, 2019 3:51 am
Brother Elyas also fired at one of the charging Hormagaunt, however the angle was to tight between the battle-brother positions and the speed of the creature and he missed.

Rolls

SAB BS+10 - (1d100)

(93) = 93

Damage (Tearing) 1d10+9 PEN 4 - (2d10)

(12) = 3

Dec 29, 2019 4:06 am
The two xenos charge on the closest target, Brother Stein, slicing with their razor sharp talons.
OOC:
I miss and 1 hit. Stein can use his reaction to roll a dodge (or parry if he has a melee weapon at the ready). The hit is in the right leg and barely overcome the armor, the 1 damage leftover would be easily soaked by the Toughness bonus of 10 for 0 damage. It would, however, compromise temporarily the seal of the armor.

Rolls

Scything talons (WS +10 for charge+ 10 for ganging up) - (1d100)

(28) = 28

Damage d10+5 PEN 3 - (1d10+5)

(1) + 5 = 6

Scything talons (WS +10 for charge+ 10 for ganging up) - (1d100)

(88) = 88

Damage d10+5 PEN 3 - (1d10+5)

(1) + 5 = 6

From deeper in the tunnel, a chilling shrill of numerous Tyrannid screams rise up. It is difficult to know the exact distance or numbers but, depending on their speed, you can expect them to start reaching your position in 2 or 3 rounds.

It is your turn.

OOC:
Gonna (try to) parry the hit (for a possible counter attack), and then proceed to attack as part of the round 2...
Stein blocks the Hormagaunt's talon, but fails to counter attack succesfully... But he's not done yet, he goes all out and attacks again...
OOC:
Full action to use swift attack...
... but is to eager to strike to connect his hits...
OOC:
None of my 3 attacks hits... but at least I parried the hit.
