OOC:
Yeah, we can translate 5 advantage to 2 boosts on a social check, plus heal 1 strain for you. That's a lot of advantage!
Hank's approach seems to have caught the Pantones' attention; the one in the car's eyes widen, and one of the aerosol-toting women snaps her fingers repeatedly in appreciation. The guy Hank aimed for, though, dodges just in time to avoid the knee strike.
OOC:
One more PC!

Viewing the situation as a bit too chaotic what with the parkour, teenagers, car, and lack of vision. With this in mind Red tries to turn down the heat, leaping onto the car hood. "Could we please talk a little more first? I think we got off on the wrong foot, We're not bad people, honest!"
OOC:
I will use a story point to upgrade my charm on the teenagers.

Rolls

Charming

3 Success, 1 Advantage, 1 Failure, 2 Threat

Total: 2 Success, 1 Threat

Feb 21, 2020 6:05 pm
OOC:
Let's count that as 2 strain to the aerosol-toting group. This is way off book, but it seems that social checks like this maybe do strain "damage" like attacks; the fact that they are opposed (and have red dice) makes up for the fact that the enemies' Defense and Soak don't apply.

1 Threat = Red's taken the attention away from the two guys who attacked! She's now engaged with the driver.
Red's theatrics definitely get the Pantones' attention, and she thinks she catches a glimpse of uncertainty in the eyes of one of the young women. However, something she hadn't noticed before is that the car has a sunroof... which gives the driver a perfect opportunity to climb up out of his seat and clamber onto the roof, putting him dangerously close to the would-be peacemaker.

OOC:
Max is up!
Feb 21, 2020 6:37 pm
"If you're too busy fighting you waste time and can't find your leader now can you..." Max chides suddenly lower his body and rushed up the stopped car unto the car roof in an attempt to take down the driver by spearing him off the roof and tumbling down the back of the car for a rough and tumble.
OOC:
Let me know what I need to roll to attempt Takedown.
Feb 21, 2020 7:18 pm
OOC:
Ooh! We have a grapple!

So, it'll take you two maneuvers to engage him (1 to climb onto the car, a second to engage), so Max suffers 2 strain. Next, make an opposed Brawl (Grappling) check: RPP. He has Defense 1, so 1 setback. If you succeed, you can use your Takedown weapon as advertised:

Rolls & using Story Point

Edit: I guess give him a setback.

Rolls

Grapple

6 Advantage, 4 Threat

Total: 2 Advantage

Feb 21, 2020 7:41 pm
OOC:
You could also use it to gain hold of one of his limbs, thereby depriving him of his Melee Defense for one round.

Also remember that Takedown is Exhausting 2, meaning it costs 2 strain to use it.
Max does his best to get his arms around the Pantone's waist and uses his full bodyweight to try to push the red-haired, bare-chested man off the car roof. The man shifts his own weight to resist the grapple, though, and tries to push things in the other direction.
OOC:
Upgraded Grapple check incoming... He failed! You want that extra setback? Or deprive him of Melee Defense next round?

Rolls

Brawl (Grappling)

1 Success, 3 Advantage, 3 Failure, 2 Threat

Total: 2 Failure, 1 Advantage

Feb 21, 2020 7:50 pm
OOC:
I guess go with sneak past his defense next round and -4 strain total for me.

OOC:
OK. We'll give his next ally a boost for his advantage.
As the car becomes a makeshift fighting ring, the three young women point their aerosol cans at Max. "Hey!" one of them shouts. "Leave Tyler alone!"
OOC:
Roll incoming. Upgraded for firing into melee; boost from aim and from previous check...

Fixing second difficulty die; forgot to upgrade it...
Max finds himself assaulted by three streams of white spray, which gets in his eyes, his mouth, his nose... The floral scent is maddening. What is this? Some sort of industrial-strength hairspray? Spray glue? Something worse?
OOC:
Thats 7 stun damage to Max with Pierce 2; will use the Triumph to upgrade his next check once. Their advantage will give a boost to next ally.

3 PCs are up!

Rolls

Ranged (upgraded, 2 boosts)

6 Success, 2 Advantage, 1 Triumph, 2 Failure, 1 Threat

Total: 4 Success, 1 Advantage, 1 Triumph

Seeing the other Pantones move in on Max, Hank turns back to the group in front of him. "Boy, you guys really can't take a hint, can you? Gonna have to teach you some manners!"

He whips the chain out from around his neck and tries to yank an opponent into his rising knee, but only succeeds in trading places with him.
OOC:
One maneuver to ready the chain, a second to aim, then a knee to the same injured mook group.

Boy, I'm getting good at this all bark no bite business. I'll heal the two strain I just took, then can I give boosts to the next two PCs?

If not, I'll give one to the next PC and heal 3 strain.

You can give 2 boosts to the next PC, or 1 boost to any PC of your choice. Let's assume the former to keep things moving. Another 2 PCs are up!

OOC:
Yep, 2 boosts to the next PC. Go get 'em!

"Didn't your mother teach you not to violate the Geneva Convention?" Marv launches himself at the aerosol spraying Pantones, leading with his knee.
OOC:
It looks like there is basically no time when I'd use brass knuckles over knee. Am I reading that wrong and would I be able to apply it's bonus if ai used, say, jab (not currently learned)?

OOC:
I think that's right. The advantage of the "natural weapons" you purchase with XP is that they don't require any equipment and can't be lost or stolen. It's a way to make it thematic for a bunch of unarmed fighters to take on thugs who use bats, knives, cattle prods, and so on. In other words, you're supposed to lean into your brawler side. Your fists are your weapons. :)

Standard PP difficulty for the aerosol group.

Total: 4 Success

Distracted as they are, the nearest spray-can Pantone doesn't even see Marv coming. He kicks her can out of her hand and then follows with a solid knee to the kidneys. She falls to the dust. He then sweeps his leg around and connects with another girl, but she stays standing for now.
OOC:
Attack was enough to take out 1/3 spray-can people. One more PC, then the NPCs are up.

"Did you just use air freshener, in a fight? What the hell is wrong with you!" Maxwell states through thinned eyes as he spits, "Tyler Imma burrow your shirt." he mutters and lunges trying to take him down again while attempting to wipe his face of the wetness now on it.
OOC:
Aiming for my manuever and via last actions I can slip past his defense plus it's upgrade from the ranged fighters.

Rolls

Tackdown Tyler

3 Success, 1 Advantage, 2 Threat

Total: 3 Success, 1 Threat

Feb 25, 2020 3:16 pm
Max wipes enough sticky, sweet-smelling residue from his face to allow him to make another lunge at the leather-jacket-wearing driver. With an arm pinned already, Max manages to get the man into a headlock. The guy gets his arm free, but Max finds himself in control of the other fighter to some degree, opening the door for some strikes or another takedown attempt.
OOC:
2 Strain for the takedown attempt (Fatiguing 2 quality). 1 Threat will bump that to 3 strain on Max. But you're in an advantageous position over him now, which grants you two boosts on your next attack (which can be a grapple or a strike, your choice).

With Red on the hood of the car, a teenager with a bat moves to close with the intruder and takes a swing at her legs. She feels the metal bat connect with her shin, sending a jolt of pain all the way up her spine. Red loses her balance with the blow, and finds herself knocked to her back on the hood of the car!
OOC:
Maneuer to engage Red. Boost for Red's relative openness on the hood.

7 damage before Soak. Critical hit with that 3 advantage, Vicious 2.

Result: 45 (Bowled Over) (PP to heal): Knocked prone, suffer 1 strain.
