The CS are clearly the bad guys in the campaigns

And the CS Soldier that yells, "Shoot the little girl first !" gets punched by all the other soldiers.

There pretty expensive the small ones for pistols are upto 5,000 I think and 1,500 to recharge

Yeah you might want to buy a normal pistol and bullets a lot less expensive but your powers are where it's at since your ISP recharges.

They are really expensive but Chay can recharge them since he is an operator

Pistols and powered melee weapons use short e-clips that cost 5000 credits to buy and 1500 credits to recharge.
Anything larger such as rifles use long e-clips that cost 8000 credits to buy and 2500 credits to recharge.

In the Savage Worlds Adventure edition book they have all kinds of base weapons.
Also High tech MDC bows cost 1,000 and normal arrows do St+D8 with them and there are special arrows you can buy.
I bought some special arrows but they are very expensive each some upto 500 credits each so couldn't get those.
Eventually though.

But pistols are around 150 creditss and ammo is pretty cheap 20-25 per 50 rounds so not too bad expense wise.

Oh, okey. If I find the pistol to be too expensive to maintain, I'll buy one of those.
