Hello hello hello!
My name is Courtney, and I've been a GM for a long, long time. I've been running roleplaying games in various systems and genres every weekend for roughly twenty years. Almost all of this experience has been relegated to reality, however. I have only dabbled a little bit in play by post. But I'd really like to get back into it, and give it another try. Some of my real life games have been having the usual problems of incompatible schedules, lately. And trying a play by post seems like a good antidote to that.
I seem to always be the GM, and never the player, and I've gotten kinda used to that. So I'd kinda like to continue being the gamerunner. I'd like to try my hand at some different new systems, as I've gotten a bit tired of grinding the same old fantasy murderhobos in 5e. But it's so damn hard to convince my real life friends to try something new!
I'm interested in maybe running a Call of Cthulhu campaign, or something a little less conventional, like Mothership, Bluebeard's Bride, or Pendragon.
I've also just got my hands on a copy of Forbidden Lands and the Raven's Purge campaign, and I'd be keen to run that, but I feel like it might be a little difficult to do in Play By Post. It uses a weird dice pool mechanic that might be a bit clunky to do via text. Also, it relies a lot on hexcrawling over a big beautiful map. Does anyone familiar with the system think it would be doable over Gamersplane? And if so, do you have any advice for me?
Thanks, and I look forward to meeting you all.
