When Rohim falls asleep, to the others he appears immediately to be in distress. He groans and cries out, then wakes after a few minutes even if you don't wake him purposefully.

Do you want to try again Rohim?

Or seeing this, does anyone else want to try?
Jan 25, 2020 6:41 pm
Rohim frowns as he wake up. Still lying down, he immediately switches to a meditation technique. He focuses on his breathing first to calm down, then proceed to let himself get deeper and deeper toward a sleeping state. He observes carefully his own mind for the first sign or feeling of those aliens stimuli. When they do happen, he pays particular attention to the very first impression that comes, slowing his mind to notice and remember the particularities of that impression without trying to understand it.

Aduan had stood guard for half an hour or so before beginning to drowse. He never did fall fully asleep. He noted the others return and listened half-heartedly to their story until they mentioned the dreams.

"What could cause such dreams? I know there are cyphers that allow a certain limited ability for mind reading. I've got something like that myself but entering and coloring someone's dreams sounds like a very powerful cypher. I've also heard of mass hallucinations but that usually happens when people are awake and are usually accompanied by some other phenomena. Has anyone ever heard of any other ways that minds can be altered from an outside source?"
Jan 25, 2020 7:22 pm
Rohim falls asleep more easily, but his eyes can be seen immediately darting around, telling observers that he is dreaming.
Jan 25, 2020 8:11 pm
Raezhon sits quietly, cross-legged, observing Rohim.
Jan 26, 2020 5:33 am
Nim fiddles in his pockets for the cypher he's been holding onto. A bottle of pills. "I might have something to help us out for the night. Won't bring us any closer to discovering the nature of these dreams but it might give us at least a nights rest.". He proceeds to pick out 5 pills and place them on a nearby surface. "For anyone willing to try." Nim then proceeds to pop one in his mouth and makes his way towards his bed. "Here goes nothing."
OOC:
The oddity I have induces vivid dreams but I wasn't sure if it actually helps with falling asleep. Let me know if I pegged the use of it wrong up above.

Nim falls asleep and seems to rest without outward sign of distress.

In the interest of expediting the discovery, Rohim's successful use of his mental resistances block some of the nightmare, but his sleep will be nonetheless incomplete. Nim's pills will protect your sleep from the Nightmare. He has 24 in total so they won't last long of everyone doth partake.

1 xp to each of Rohim and Nim for puzzling out some of the parameter of the nightmare.

As we move to the next morning, who uses a pill, who attempts unprotected sleep, and who goes without any sleep?

Did Rohim manage to isolate or notice one or some specific image/sensation like he was trying to do?

I don't know if something in particular happens in the morning, if so ignore this post
Rohim wakes up in the middle of the night, partly because of going to sleep to early, but mostly because of the incomplete sleep. He waves off attempts at questioning him for later and concentrate on finding sometimes to draw or, failing that, a piece of wood to carve with his tools. He then proceed to copy on the material the image he pinpointed from his dreams while it was fresh in his memory.
OOC:
Flexing Copying skill or the relevant skill for the material he got if copying is too general a skill.
He will exert 1 level of effort in the copy. Either 3 point of Dex or 2 Int and 1 edge depending

Regardless of whether you try and sleep (and suffer the nightmare) or stay awake all night, you're not rested the next morning.
OOC:
There is no penalty for this, but if it happens again, you will begin to suffer.
Nim alone had taken one of his oddity pills and feels rested.

Rohim draws one of his dream images, a faceted dome.

It is now morning. What do you do?

Rohim shows the drawing of a faceted dome the the rest of the team. "This is the clearest image I could glean from the nightmare. Does it mean anything to you?"
Jan 29, 2020 12:39 pm
Karam tries to sleep. She believes her knowledge as a scholar will help her avoid the nightmare. She is mistaken, however, and suffers the nightmare.

When Rohim shows her the drawing, she answers:

This doesn’t look like anything to me.
Jan 29, 2020 4:43 pm
Nim awakens fully rested and in a generally good mood. "Ahh! I just had the most wonderful dream! There were mountains made of pumpkin pie and lakes of this delicious liquid they called eggnog! It was all fascinating." Noticing no one else took a pill he gathers them up and places them back in his bottle. Brave souls. He thinks to himself.

Then, examining the picture drawn by Rohim he posits. "Perhaps this image is merely a smaller representation of a larger dome of influence over this town. That is to say if we were affected by this plague of nightmares as soon as we arrived perhaps this image is a representation of the dome we find ourselves within. A cloud of whatever is causing these nightmares, a zone of control so to speak.... which means... this might be intentional... That is my take on the matter anyhow." Nim looks to the group for any thoughts.
OOC:
Is there anything that my ability of Identify danger could gleam from this image? I could roll a check, I'm just new to this so I'm not sure what I would roll.
