Well met.
First, a brief history. My initial interest was sparked by the Saturday morning cartoon Dungeons & Dragons (showing the grey in my beard here) and I grew into the teen reading any rulebook I could get my hands on cover to cover. But, in the 90's pen and paper RPGs were pretty much guaranteed banishment into the basement of ultra geekdom so I could never convince any circle of friends to take the leap with me. I got by drawing maps and making up stories for myself with the help of video games and fantasy novels but the longing never went away.
Fast forward to now. I'm the dad of a young boy with another to join our merry band soon, likely within a week. Between family and work there isn't a great deal of time for hobbies but the itch is still there and lately I've been feeling it more. I'm not sure why I never thought to try pbp before but I had the realization that this would be a perfect fit to fill in the void so to speak. So here I stand with wonder in my eyes lurking your fine forums, thanks for reading looking forward to seeing what kind of shenanigans I can get into with you all.
