Near the end of the Week of Ascension, the battle lines slow, lock into place, and no one really makes massive advancements. Both sides wait for reinforcements. Both of the following happen at the same time:
A rider comes furiously from the east, a looking so affrighted that even before he's stopped his horse to hand a communique to the lead generals, the royal camps are uneased.
A fast schooner docks and offloads a passenger. He marches to the Western generals with an almost smug affection and hands them a copy of a letter.

To all the Houses of the realm of Scymira !!! The royal house of Kyralyi has failed the realm and the people !!
When House Sol held a festival in honor of the people of Scymira, all they could think of is the prestige they thought they would lose...
When House Mytheas reported a Sea creature, an undead abomination, attacking their ships, no help was sent...
When House Gasharde threatened the economical balance of the realm, refusing to negotiate anything with other houses, the royal house kept silent...
When the orcs descended from the north, the realm's armies were nowhere in sight to help protect the borders...
When the plague sweep through Tamer's lands, they ignored the people, their people, dying cries of help...
When undead creatures rose from the graves of those who died from the plague, they not only ignored house Zubech's situation, they requested them to send their troops to attack those trying to preserve the realm's economic stability...
While all that occurred, with their coffers empty, because the royal house Kyralyi is broke for those who did not know. They overtaxed the other houses. And what did they do with that money? Did they feed the people that starved? Did they invest in their merchants to help the realm? Did they buy new equipment and form new recruits for the defense of the realm? The answer is NO! They took all that money to make sure THEIR lifestyle was not affected!
Their actions have already pushed some of the houses to proclaim their independence...
That is only what happened in the last month...
In the upcoming dark times, where monsters and undead seek our destruction, the Kraken Society has taken the difficult task to remove the King for his throne, by force if need be... We ask all the Houses of the realm to put their differences aside and join together to protect our people, our lands. The Kraken society refuses to take the throne, but let's choose together a new house to bring forth the realm of Scymira to glory! Let's work together and make sure the next age will be known the age of unification!
Along with the letter comes news. House Kraken's move has already happened! Kraken forces landed near the capital as the battle here started, and decimated the royal army that was left behind. So quick was the strike that Kraken took almost no losses at all in the battle. House Kraken now holds the capital.
The royal house now consists of only those members here fighting, as the people of the capital were quick to depose the rest.
The question is now, before the new season starts...
