REALIST says:
you are traveling from the bottom to the top. (I grabbed it from the web).
any other answers to the earlier questions?
A. Safety precautions?
B. Do you have an open flame?
C. A combat formation?
D. Have you all agreed on a tactic?
OOC:
I assume bottom right? The long hall, not the one’s that split or have openings immediately?

I’m just filling out what I see from the posts.
A. A sounds like we’re going sneaky sneaky, looking for traps.
B. Magical light at the back, so no flames.
C. Is the path/tunnel wide enough to walk more than single file or are we stuck with single file?
D. I do not know... right now find the thief.

OOC:
So revised order is Tarquin, Logrith, Mara, Larkin with White Claw wherever Logirth wants him.
Mara nods at Larkin and moves in front of him, she pulls her scarf back from her head, maybe it was interfering with her sight, that’s probably why she can’t find anything. She carefully pulls her long black hair back and secures it with a winged scarab clasp and long pin.

Leader as in person to go first?

As for social interactions, I don't think it is necessary. We can discuss OOC, and then let the character with the best social graces do the talking.

GM: You all make progress, and travel further without any encounters, You are still on the trail of the thief.
You come to a steep downward slope, from wall to wall the floor is wet. A small stream flows down the middle.
Logrith and Tarquin, it is clear to you that the thief had climbing spikes hammered into the left wall...
but set a release chord to pull them free once she reached safety.

The slope ahead of you all will require 10 athletics skill checks to navigate; due to the slick clay, flowing water, and angle... DC: 25.
It could be a fatal fall, it could be a trap, you can not see the bottom due to the angle of the passage.

Mara looks off into the darkness at the slick clay and falling waters, then she turns to look at the men. "I do not like anything about this situation! We were hired to be tax collectors, I am not some kind of bendy sinuous acrobat in the Pharaohs harem, we have ten days to live, ten because some bloated, foul smelling, corpse of a man was to lazy and incompetent to do the job himself!"

Mara closes her eyes takes a deep breath and pauses a moment, then she opens her eyes and smiles, "I am so sorry, I really needed to get that out of my system."

Her hand closes around the bronze disk attached to her belt and she starts to swirl her fingers about its surface. "Attach a rope up here, the other end around me or someone else and we try to put some more spikes in the wall, or I can feather fall with a rope down to the bottom of the sludge pit so we can get the bendy sinuous acrobat harem zan."

Yes, this is a climb Down.

"I do not think that I have any pitons myself, but perhaps one of our other companions does or has another way of securing a rope up top here to make the climb more efficient. Had I known I would be trudging through caves I would have prepared different spells today for the occasion, I always do hate having to do things the hard way." While saying this, Larkin will look around to see if there is a place to attach a rope.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+14)

(9) + 14 = 23

Mara reaches beneath her cloak and slides a moderately sized flat pouch out from behind her back, she undoes the clasps carefully and rummages about for a moment opening something else contained within. "Iki sivri," she murmurs before producing a pair of long metal spikes from the pouch.

"I have a few more if you need them but I am not an endless supply."

She then rummages about some more before sealing the pouch and returning it to its hiding place beneath her cloak.

The bear can also hold the rope at the top. He is strong like an ox.

So can you, Logrith, and yes, you would look POSITIVELY BAD ASS riding White-claw down.

I need to point out, that the party has One hero point already for each player...

But due to the Epic role playing by Larkin and Mara especially has earned another for everyone in the party.

Now, Everyone has two hero points.

(*Larkin and Mara, could write their own books on par with the Story of D'rzzt, or legends of the seven sisters of Mystra)

You spot A wedge of Stones that are not clay, nor skree. With a twist, a piton could be permanently anchored in the small fissure.

OOC:
GM: I need your plan and then I need the appropriate (3) athletics skill checks rolled for climbers. At the bottom I need Perception checks please.

Unless, Mara decides to cast Feather Fall on as many as she can...

I am offering White claw to hold the rope. I will tie it around him. Everyone can easily climb down it and then I will ride the bear down after everyone else is safely down of course. That's my idea.

White Claw offered a gentle nod in agreement and pawed the ground impatiently.

"What if we need to get back out this way, would not leaving the rope and spike behind us be wisest? I mean I would rather not get stuck down there."
