The male fFolk thinks for a moment then replies, "Yes I have actually, and while purified salt will work, I think we have a few other salts that might work better depending on what it is you are actually trying to do with that salt in regards to demons."

I'm not 100% certain of what I can do but I have a couple of ideas. The first would be to create a barrier at night around our camp that demons couldn't cross. The second wound be to wrap the salt in losely tied packages and use them as grenades to try and drive them away. Do you have any suggestions as to how I might go about creating either effect? If not, it will be trial and error but I must say I am excited to see what happens. Lex is obviously full of barely contained excitement and his eyes sparkle.

"Well the former would work assuming it does not rain nor the wind is to intense, which some demons can cause one or the other and sometimes both. The latter would not work at all as you would need a means to make the salt more toxic in nature which I believe can be done. However, while I would be more than happy to work with you on this I do charge for my time and in that regards I am currently contracted to this Inn so you would also need to be a resident here in order for that to occur. So," he glances to the others, "does anyone else here wish to join the tour?"

The vinegar seemed pricey, but half the cost was the bottle itself. There'd be a need to recycle it after they were done with it. "Thank you, we will take one bottle." Feliani looked at the others, especially since Lex seemed enthusiastic to explore the inn. "I still have one more item to buy though, at Mamz, so I won't be joining you for the tour, should you choose to go."

Excellent. I will take one sack of purified salt, if you please. How about the holy water?

[ +- ] Holy Water
"Okay by a sack are you saying you want one pound of purified salt or two hundred pounds of purified salt as they both come in sacks. Further what grade of purified salt are you wanting: Common, Mid, High, or Fine? As for Holy Water I would suggest you get some water and go see someone who does divine magic as this is an Arcane House."

Which grade of salt do you think would be most effective for a barrier? I'm thinking perhaps fine? Let's go for two one pound sacks. If we need more than that we are probably toast anyway. Thank you for your advice on the holy water. Do you know of any divine spell casters in town? Ah, we can talk about that on the way!

Egret, who was listening quietly and with a wide smile on his lips, amused by Lex's enthusiasm at shopping for salts - albeit also a bit concerned by the mentions of demons, - now takes a moment to pull Feliani aside. "I'm going to stay here, but I wanted to pass you some coin for the peppers." He offers her seven Dragons, and then chuckles: "Finish our quest for the best dinner, friend!"
OOC:
I'd love to give 7gp to Feliani. :D

"Thanks, friend Egret. My coin pouch is emptying fast at this rate. I'll return you the spare change once I pick up those pickled ears. " Once she had the bottle in hand, she paid up, and then told both Lex and Egret she'd complete the shopping at Mamz.

Okay so Lex and Egret are taking the Tour

Feliani gets the Vinegar and is headed to Mamz Inn

Brindel is ?? (not going to Mamz but is he taking the tour or just heading back to the Rock Inn or the Garrison)

OOC:
Yep, for Feliani we can take it up from when she enters Mamz Inn.

Brindel heads back to the garrison.

Brindel heads back to the Garrison eventually finding them to be clean and fairly typical, upon arrival he finds that that there are guards in barracks as well as someone sitting near the door that checks folks in and assigns them a bunk and provides them with the key to the large chest that is attached to the bed it is assigned to. The chest is large enough to hold two full suits of plate and still have room. Further its iron-bound and the locking mechanism is fairly complicated looking form what little Brindel knows about these things. He is instructed as to where the mess hall is and that it is where most garrison congregate when not resting or spending time in the upstairs library. Apparently Garrison life here is not all that bad life, which perhaps speaks a bit to the risk level.

Meanwhile Lex and Egret are led by the Dark fFolk threw the door after telling the door that they were allowed to enter for a tour.

This left Feliani who was headed out and to Mamz Inn, stepping out she realized that Mamz Inn was directly across the market place from where she was and she could go around to the right past the Rock Inn, straight through the marketplace which was definitely not the most expedient route or she could go to the left and pass by the other two Inns on her way.
OOC:
This thread is for Feliani only at this point -- if Brindel wants to do something at the Garrison let me know in Chat and I will create a thread for that.

With only one more item on her list, Feliani made for Mamz Inn and entered the building. Her final stop would be the Rock Inn, for the bread, and of course, to retire for the night.

Feliani goes into a sort of auto-mode as she makes her way to Mamz Inn basically not paying much attention to her environment beyond her immediate surrounding and potential threats which none appeared.

Upon arriving at Mamz Inn she is first greeted by the rather large door and a rather large Yroc exiting as she approached. The Yroc gave her a grimace or was that smile, dang it was hard to tell and surprisingly he held the door open for her to allow her to enter by making a sort of archway with his body on her left, left arm extended out to hold the top of door overhead, and then the door on her right.

Surprised by the courtesy, as opposed to the slight prejudice from the drunk dwarves at the Rock Inn, Feliani smiled, "Thank you. I am looking for the proprietor."
Mar 9, 2020 1:40 pm
He looks at her with concentration as she speaks then closes his seemingly small eyes as if grimacing in pain then after a what seemed like a long moment he said, "Ya... innn Mamz innn" his Human was heavily accented but he pointed with his free hand past his body through arch he had made to the Inn's open doorway indicating that Mamz was inside.

Feliani made no assumptions, but she wondered if Mamz was an actual yroc, the one depicted on the sign. She stepped it, and scanned the room she entered for who might be the proprietor, mentally looking for a large female yroc.

Stepping into Mamz Inn was as much an experience as meeting a civil Orcs as the place had a good measure of Orcs within and considering the natural enmity between Orcs and Dwarfs it was some what surprising fights did not break out often within the streets as Dwarves were never known to forgive quickly or at all for that matter. Still there were a measure of humans, and a handful of other races that you might expect to find enjoying such a rustic setting.

It did not take Feliani long to locate who she was looking as someone called, "Ay Mam may I pluz 'ave anutter Tangkerd"

To which an orc replied and a female orc no less whose face did strike a good resemblance to the one on the sign, "A'ite Gunt getcha one in a bit." A few others called out something similar in a seeming overly polite manner to which Mamz seem to respond in kind but using a different name.

She then could be seen heading to the back of the Inn and returned shortly carrying a large platter of tankards. She set a large tankard down on large barrel next to the one who ordered it and picked up the empty, repeating this with each order she had received. To which each individual responded with a polite version of "Tanks Mam"
