Ben pulls out his gun, and preps to begin firing if combat is engaged. ""Shit, spotted already, he says. "This isn't going to be like the last little dust-up he says to the others. Prepare for something a little bit more hostile. He thinks for a moment, and realizes that this could very well require more firepower than they can manage on their own. Chay, do you think you can record Kai's audio when he intercepts those creatures?

As the creature gets close, Kai notes that it is carrying weapons, including a spear and swords. He also understand that it has a pulse rifle when it fires at him from 160 paces away.

He misses handily, the powerful energy beam going well wide.

Kai is up.

Flight movement of 12" and short range of 12" is hopefully close enough. I think he's in fear range also when I get close to be seen well. They have 2d6 fire damage if round until doused out if that hits starting next round.

Wow, great damage. Unfortunately...

It's 160 away. Moving 12 gets you to 148. Long range is generally 4x short, so only 48. So you're 100 paces outside of long range of your breath weapon.

Now I described it as 160 paces. A movement unit of Pace is described as about two yards, which is about two human paces. But even if I call the range 80 instead, you're still 20 short. You can run for a -2 to your attack, but that will only add a non-exploding 1d12. Even then, you're short of maximum range.

Would you like to try something else instead?

Could I use the flame as a distraction for moving towards them since flight is 3d? I'll take the higher sky when they're looking at the flame type of thing.

Kai blasts fire in a huge cone in retaliation from the weapon fire. From behind, you can see him flap upwards into the sky, turning his wings and hiding behind the lingering flame cloud as he rises rapidly on the super heated air.

The Xiticix warrior looks about, unsure where his target went.

Kai soars up higher than it's looking, at least for now.

From Echo, you can see a fire fight erupt in the air. If you can see it, you know that the hive can as well. But for a moment, the Xiticix continue to advance toward Kai's last position.

Kyron has been offline for a month, so I'll give the Joker to Tipolei instead of drawing him another card.

Tipolei can act whenever and gets +2 to his tests this round.

Taking aim without the edge is an action where you'd shoot the next round at +2, Joker gives +2 to any check this round and +2 to the damage as well... So if you're weapon is mounted on a moving vehicle or you have steady hands the Joker is better then taking Aim since you get more damage.

Everybody can act, we don't need to go in order. I do understand that few of you have actions that can reach 300 range units.

Chay hops atop Echo with glee, pulls up his kerchief, and fires off a blast from the missile launcher towards the the Xiticix, which are perfectly in range according to the scope's heads-up display. Hahaha he shouts like a wild man. Take that!


Boom! The missiles fire leaving a trial of dust from the air, in their wake.

The two missiles streak off and slam into the insect hunter, blowing it into tiny tiny bits. The other two redirect from the missing dragon toward Echo, but they're 450 range increments out.
