"I think perhaps we may need to proceed relatively discreetly," Ben says to the others. "Clearly, despite the threat of the demons being dealt with, for now, we still have a population of people that has a hard time with anything beyond their normal routine. It would be best if we carry on with that in mind. That being said, the little one seemed to be indicating this building here," Ben says while indicating at the old hotel. "Let's have a quick look. If nothing else, it's dry. Sound good, or is there an alternate course we could pursue?"

Kai gives Ben a blank stare and looks around. He looks at the building to see how big it is and how sturdy the roof looks.

Looks like you scared the piss out of him Tipolei. Chay says, amused at his own comment but sobered by the fact that now they can't get any info out of the kid.

Now we can't find out what he was trying to tell us though? I suppose we should just go in and take our chances.

Chay approaches the building, eyes and ears attuned to the surroundings.

Ana had spent the time soaking in the area. She hadn't had much of an opportunity to be in that part so had spent all her time exploring, a massive grin on her face about 90% of the time.

Once they arrived back at the town, Ana followed Tipolei slowly, taking off her jacket in order to drape it over her head.

"I guess we'll go on in then," Ben says looking off to where the child fled. Ben gently opens the door...

Kyron followed the others.

The flat roofed hotel is lit from within on this dark and dreary day. You see a handful of people moving about, cleaning and repairing. An older woman supervises, a checklist in hand, while a strong looking woman welds braces to an anyway large and sturdy chair.

When you get out, several of them whip into high speed, finishing their tasks and gathering their supplies.

When you walk in, the supervisor says, "Welcome to Hotel Cartouche. We've not had need of the building for since time, so there is a little bit of dust about. We have volunteers who will help with that. There is a kitchen in the back. You're welcome to make use of this place as you see fit. Young Carter over there," she points to the welder, "has hopes that you will open the place to the public as a restaurant or club of some fashion."

The welder woman handily sets the large Tipolei sized chair to the side and says, "Pannenkoeken. Waffle house."

The matronly lady continues, "Take a look around. The cleaning should be done in a few hours, but the rooms upstairs are all ready."

"Dibs on the roof." Kai states jumping up and flying up to inspect said roof to see how sturdy it is.

Oh well that was much ado about nothing on my part I s'pose. It will be nice to have a room and some creature comforts for a change.
I wonder,
Chay asks the matron, if I might be able to soak in a tub to get rid of this road dirt, so to speak. And speaking of the road, I'd like to give my chariot outside a bath at some point as well. Would that be possible?

"Hello, and thank you for the warm welcome," Ben says in response. "We weren't sure what to expect. The last time we were in Cartouche people were a bit uncomfortable on account of some demons, but that seems to have been resolved. I can't say we're in a position to take responsibility for the premises, but we're very appreciative of the use of the facilities. My name is Ben Volent, may I ask your name? "

"I am the Shadap Napes. The housekeeper." She gestures around. "You needed a place to keep the rain off your heads when you pass through."
Mar 27, 2020 12:18 pm
"Thank you this is very nice of you." With a smile he turns, "What do you say we check out the rooms ?"

Ana thought for a second, shrugging her shoulders before walking up to the housekeeper [Hello there. Is there a way we could accommodate my comrades larger stature?] She points to Tipolei

They do have a bed big enough for Tipolei in one of the rooms, and it takes up most of the space. There are seven rooms in total, including a bigger one on the top floor that is almost entirely dusty rose with like twenty throw pillows on the bed over top of a hand knit quilt, and ornate casbah furniture.

The roof is flat with tarpaper and pea gravel. It isn't really a great dragon cave, but maybe some metal sliding repurposed could make it homey.

As they look over the rooms available for them, Ben whispers to the others, "I think we should still be wary. The child outside seemed unsettled by this place. Let's maybe try and keep watch tonight."
Mar 30, 2020 12:12 pm
"Should one of us look for the boy ?"

Kyron looks out a window to see if he might spy the lad.
Mar 30, 2020 1:23 pm
Kai flies down and gets his shields and spears and brings them up for a bit of bedding after wiggling around he listens to the rest.

"Maybe he's just scared of us." mutters to himself with a yawn and curls up.
Mar 30, 2020 1:28 pm
I thought the boy's behavior was a little odd. I think we should find him Kyron. I didn't get the feeling he was scared but then I'm not much of a people person, so reading them isn't my strong suit.

"Take Ann-ann he might calm down. *yawn*"
