Gameplay - The Dragon That Opposed an Empress

Bugger it. Mavis mutters to herself and starts to unwrap the dragon without any thought to stealth.

She tugs and jumps around the dragon, like a sailor working on rigging, trying to untangle the net as best as she can.

As she does so she shouts Eh up, yer lazy dangle 'ands! Gi' us lift, will yer? Empress will 'ave us guts on wall if us can't get great lummox untangled.

Mavis manages to uncover most of the dragon, leaving only its head covered. It still remains motionless. The orcs, however, do not seem that they've been convinced to help.

My understanding is that surprise does not grant Advantage. However, Hasan is unseen (unless he moves) and therefore his first attack will have Advantage.

Garth was just a bit away from the gates. He moves closer so his spirit guardians are covering it. Then she casts a bolt at one of the gate guards.

iirc RAW surprise just skips the opponets turn. they are surprised until their turn in init comes in.

The orcs going to Mavis & Ruby do they look hostile to them or is it just rushing to see what the commotion is?

Super,

Hasan will Unload his crossbow for the 2nd orc in the group and set it alight with some majick.

He'll then quickly reload and set another bolt to the leader of the herd. Unsure of the hit he'll duck behind cover move 20' down the rampart and loose another bolt at the 2nd orc.

The first bolt strikes the target... but does not blind him. The other two both miss, bouncing off the cobblestones.

Mavis continues to leap about, pulling and working at the net. As the guards approach, she feints and wheels to continue with her assigned task. No true dwarf would ever stop a task once they'd started it.

Hasan fires two bolts into the second guard, killing it.

Mavis frees the dragon entirely. A great shiver runs through it and it begins to stand on weakened legs that threaten to give out.

Ruby claps her hands, enough contemplation, time for devastation! she pole vaults over the dragon just in time to see one of the guards go down. Not about to let Hasan hog all the fighting she rushes the closest one standing, delivering what some might call an "onslaught, without hesitation" against the poor unprepared guard.

OOC:

I am just going to assume that all hits... Total of 40 damage.

Ruby takes down one guard and injures another, with her crazy staff attacks.

The guards at the gate grab bows from the corner ready to shoot back at Garth. (Full round action)

The guards near the dragon need to make fear checks... but they don't, and become Frightened. They attack Ruby, unable to approach Mavis or the dragon. Their attacks all miss the fierce kobold.

Whistles come from in the keep.

The dragon wobbles, clearly in distress.

Each of you are up again.

The dragon suddenly stiffens, it's wobbling ceasing. It lets out a roar and turns its head to the keep. To the top of the tower to be precise.

Mavis starts gathering and folding the net. Seeing the dragon stiffen she turn her eyes to the keep and runs for the walls.
