Hehsh also perks up and follows Garth. When he sees Garth adopt a combat stance he draws forth his magic and sparks shoot along his body.
OOC:

Ruby is totally unsure of who exactly they're fighting. Probably won't have to wait long, these things usually sort themselves out.

Rolls

Initiative - (1d20+5)

(12) + 5 = 17

May 22, 2020 12:17 pm
The dragon unwinds it's coils and launches itself to attack Mavis. It's probably the accent.

Ruby can act before it jumps on Mavis.
May 22, 2020 5:27 pm
OOC:
I'm not sure how big this dragon is. Does it look like it might be jumping over because it wants a hug, like an excited dog that's pleased to see you? No? Just askin'.
May 22, 2020 5:35 pm
OOC:
Only if you're terrific of dogs. This one looks like it is going to try to eat you. It's the size of a pony.
May 22, 2020 6:05 pm
Bad bad badbadbad Just as she predicted, Ruby wasn't left in anticipation for long. Unfortunately the result is definitely terrible. Thinking quickly she leaps at the dragon with a flying kick. As it connects she slams her axe down on the dragon's head almost as if it's a hammer.

"Hey now, we don't need to be doing this!" Ruby tries to reason, hoping this is a fair and understanding dragon.
OOC:
1 ki on patient defense.

OOC:
I'm calling this (in metagame) - Wyvern.
May 22, 2020 6:38 pm
The dragon attacks Mavis, taking a number of hits from Ruby on the way (20 damage, one staff attack misses).

It bites at Mavis, but it's tail lashes out at the monk, but missing terribly.

Everybody's up

Rolls

Bite the Mavis - (1d20+5, 1d8+3)

1d20+5 : (2) + 5 = 7

1d8+3 : (4) + 3 = 7

Lash the Ruby - (1d20+5, 1d6+3)

1d20+5 : (6) + 5 = 11

1d6+3 : (4) + 3 = 7

May 22, 2020 6:46 pm
Twisting away from the dragons jaw, Mavis takes two steps back, draws a dagger, step to the side, duck and thrust.
It could almost be a dance... if she didn’t trip over her own feet.
OOC:
Probably not a wyvern then.
Just noticed that was a natural 1. I know RAW crit fails aren’t a thing, but I don’t mind if you want to give that roll some mechanical disadvantage. I like the chaos of bad rolls.

Rolls

Dagger - (1d20+7)

(1) + 7 = 8

May 22, 2020 9:10 pm
Another dragon. For a moment Hehsh is lost in wonder as this primal creature. Can it teach him about who he is as well? Then it bites his friend and Hehsh decides it probably isn't a good teacher.
OOC:
I'm assuming this thing is big enough that I don't have to worry about hitting mavis with a lightning bolt? if so, let me know and i'll edit.

Rolls

Lightning bolt DC 16 dex save - (8d6+4)

(31326555) + 4 = 34

May 22, 2020 9:22 pm
OOC:
Saving throw
Combat is over

Heheh finds an angle and the lightning takes the creature in the side. It lights up, crackling all over, then falls to the ground twitching and smoking.

The brief moment that it is crackling with lightning, you can see it better. It is not a dragon, although it does lol awfully like a black dragon. However, it does not have any wings, and is more squat and muscular. This is a drake. Or was a drake.

Rolls

Dexterity save - (1d20+0)

(6) = 6

May 22, 2020 10:58 pm
Garth speaks to the miners...
OK the giant is dead, now this thing. Is there anything else down here we need to kill?
May 22, 2020 11:01 pm
The miners get up, smelly and shaky. The smell of roasted giant meat is wafting into the area. "No. No more guards. We go now?"
May 22, 2020 11:19 pm
We saved you, you can go...but first, did you see of our snake friend or the giant had any treasures hidden away? I know you wouldn't hold out secrets.

Rolls

Intimidation - (1D20+6)

(9) + 6 = 15

May 23, 2020 1:38 am
Hehsh whispers to Ruby and Mavis "Did he say guards?"
May 23, 2020 2:36 am
The orcs miners are unaware of any treasure stockpile. "Just his boots," one says.
