Lucian dodges the first geyser and goes back to climbing the edge of the crater. As the whole team turn and work as one to assist him, he gets out completely this time, but not before a spray of acid splash Cloten and Lucian. The powerful acid burns through joint in the armours, eating away at the Space Marines skin underneath. They can only toughen trough the burning sensation until the foul mixture lose its potency.

The grounds keep shaking for a while around you,but the land around the crater seem safe enough... for now. Rapidly smoke and acid drizzle fill the air around you, making it almost impossible to see anything. Wiithout the power armour respiratory systems, you can hear Guts breathing becoming more difficult.

There is still alot of ground to cover before finding the source of the signal. What do you do?
OOC:
No wound is suffered because of the acid but both armour lost their seals integrity.
The squad gain a bonus Cohesion point for their uniting teamwork in adversity.
Everybody roll a secret toughness check please.

Lol, I knew something like this was bound to happen while I had my scout armor !! But I had to try it anyway, I regret nothing !Lol

Don't know what bonuses count in this situation, but I have...
Space marine abilities
+20 to Toughness vs ingested poisons
Re-roll any failed Toughness test for Drowning or Asphyxiation.
+30 to Toughness vs gases and may re-roll failed results.
Re-roll any failed Toughness test to resist poisons & toxins, including attacks with the Toxic Quality

+10 T vs contact poisons/radiations/acids/chemicals

Those were the nearest landmarks to your landing, the area to explore is bigger than only those three, so you can go further also

Lucian patches the seals to his armor, and helps Cloten do the same and double check his own, especially in the back.

"We'll go to the valley next. Cloten, I want you and Guts in the scout armor to range ahead. You take lead, he'll follow. If you see anything like this jump back to Guts and report."

After the armor had been patched, Cloten gives Guts a big goofy grin, not that you can see it in the helmet, and bangs him on the shoulder.

"Ready?"

He checks his magnoculars, chain sword and bolter. Then tests his jump pack for damage, making a short hop.

The team double back toward the landing site and turn west toward the valley. Cloten and Guts take a considerable lead to scout.

The valley is deep, dead and empty. The scout team enter it carefully. There is no trace of moving tyranid. However, Guts eventually spot an imprinted footprint that appears to be human. The dying soil make it difficult to follow, but his skills are up to the task. The tracks lead to entrance of a network of caves.

What do you do?

Cloten looks at the caves. "Nicely done. Call it in, Guts, I'll keep an eye on the caves." He finds a good spot to watch as much of the entrances as he can, bolter at the ready.

Guts activates his vox, Guts to Lucian, we found human tracks leading to some caves. Want us to wait for you or go ahead ?

"Hold position and case the threat vectors. We will be there shortly."

To the rest of the crew, he says, "Our first lead. Let's double time it. If they have been able to survive the tyranid scourge, they're defenses must be formidable."

He leads them in a double time match to catch the scouts.

The kill-team reach the scout rapidly at the caves network entrance. No activity has been noticed.

How many have entrances are there, particularly large enough for a human to enter?

Lucian orders Guts and Cloten to enter, with Mykhaal backing them up. Brannus and Ragnar follow them with Lucian as rear guard.

You explore the caves and find a single human, obviously native to the planet. He is lying beside the only pool of clear water you've seen on the planet, wounded and dying. He is garbed in primitive attire and his skin is covered by a mixture of warpaint and blood.
He is muttering to himself in what seem like a debased form of Gothic, but sometime stop the drink some water, before continuing his self talk.

He has not noticed you yet. What do you do?

To understand his speak, the character need to pass a Hard (-20) Speak Language test. The same test is needed to address him in his own language.
