"Those traps seems to be more trouble than they are worth. We are stronger than those ratfolk, chances are we can fight whatever is scaring them directly. I really doubt any townsfolk are still alive but Cassi's right, the chances arent nil"

Alright, so the last place to explore is the small collector to the west. (red circle for emphasis, you are at the red X).Aug 14, 2020 9:09 pm
Toraclis nocks an arrow, nose furrowed in distaste, and quietly positions himself behind Liroc, Nunri and Herradine.
I think we may have found our missing sewer crew...

Cassi halts a bit and pulls Coring close say, It's okay boy. Take it easy. as Cassi trying to what she can while holding up the lantern high.
Aug 14, 2020 10:20 pm
Lifting her lantern high to see better, you notice a trail of dark, dried blood on one of the walkways, disappearing around the corner...
Aug 14, 2020 10:24 pm
Upon sighting the trail she says figuring all have noted it, That doesn't look good at all. It doesn't bode well.
Aug 14, 2020 11:52 pm
You turn the corner to find a slaughter house. Bodies, or rather what's left of them are piled here and there in the dead end. An arm here, a leg there, a torso bobbing in the sewer over there... The scene is horrifying. Strangely enough, near the end of the cul-de-sac, part of a sword hilt and pommel seem to be poking out of the brackish water... Your prisoners are starting to really panic at that point...

Cassi fall to her side at the sight of the gore. She doesn't even believe none could be alive. Surely the rat's have killed them all. Her feeling toward the prisoners has grossly changed. She does well not to lose her stomach. (stream words unholy to print) done here.

Herradine curses loudly at the sight. "Whatever did this might stil be around," she says. "Stay vigilant!"
Her eyes fall onto the sword hilt poking out of the water. Could that be...
She points it out to her companions and asks: "You think the creature might be in there, stabbed and hiding?"

"When everyone is ready, with torches and lantern secured in the wall sconces we can try shooting the water at base of that sword if you like"

As you're discussing your plans, there is a sudden blur of movement, an explosion of dirty water making its way towards the group, and two tentacles bursting out of the geyser, targeting whoever is in front (Liroc by the looks of it).
Edit: Hmm, the dice roller does not seem to lie it when you roll 1dX+1dY, so ignore the +1 after the d8. Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! That second attack is a critical hit! Oh no... Ouch... That's 14 damage that bypasses armor... Huh, you know what, never mind my no reaction ruling from earlier. It got the surprise on you, it attacked first this round, but Liroc, do try and roll a critical dodge or something because I think I've just killed you...
OOC:
As I secretly rolled its Deception while hiding under the water against your Perception and you failed to notice the creature, this will be a surprise round, so no reactions.Edit: Hmm, the dice roller does not seem to lie it when you roll 1dX+1dY, so ignore the +1 after the d8. 1d100 : (70) = 70
1d8+1 : (4) + 1 = 5
1d6 : (4) = 4
1d100 : (4) = 4
1d8+1 : (4) + 1 = 5
1d6 : (3) = 3

ReactionEdit: While Liroc does have a fate point, I think i'll take this as an exit for this game. With the multiple delays and character changes and the little we have accomplished in 4 months, I don't really feel engaged in it anymore.
Thank for running it Kalajel. I'd be interested in trying again the Age of Shadow at another opportunity.
And good luck to you all!

You are all shocked and surprised to see Liroc fall from the attacks of this creature. In front of you sits a massive slug which is currently considering the corpse of Liroc in front of it. A gleaming sword protudes from its flank...
First Round of Combat
Initiative
Cassi 16
Female Ratkin 15
Toraclis 14 (INT 14 for spells)
Coring (pet) 13
Sewer Slug 10
Nunri 8
Herradine 8
Conditions: Here, the sewer is relatively well lit because of the few grates (considered partial darkness, p.31 and p.56), the passages are also narrower (the walkways are about 25 cm/ 9 and 7/8 in. wide) and the ceiling domes lower (meaning that any use of two-handed weapons, even bows, is done at -25% as you lack the space to effectively wield them).

Cassi is up first!

Cassi set down the lantern and knocks an arrow for next round. We need to get to Liroc fast.
Aug 16, 2020 6:09 am
Toraclis shoots and nocks another arrow.
OOC:
there's something about the sword... Rolls
1d100(ranged 58), 1d8 damage - (1d100, 1d8)
1d100 : (74) = 74
1d8 : (4) = 4

Toraclis' arrow flies wide.Since nobody else attacked it yet (from its point of view at least, Toraclis failed to land a shot), the slug will start taking chunks out of Liroc's body with its serrated rugula, easily slicing through Liroc's leather armor... Things look dire for your friend...
Nunri is up next.
OOC:
Do not forget the -25% on two-handed weapons for the cramped condition of the tunnels!Nunri is up next.
