Lin answers the comms call. "Captain Lin Darek of the FTY, what can I do for you?" his voice is calm and conversational, as if he had no idea that his flying is anything out of the ordinary. In fact, it's quite likely that he truly doesn't.

Mala holds on to the examination table holding the hyperdrive specialist for dear life as the G forces push down on her and eventually even out when the inertial dampers kick on.

One day that boy is going to tear the ship apart with his flying Mala mutters under her breath as she begins to make their new guest comfortable. She can't move him yet until they're safe in hyperspace, so she works to make him as comfortable as she can: pillow under his head and his knees, cold pack on the bump on his head, warm blanket, etc. When she's done with that, she will re secure any medical equipment that may have been shaken loose thanks to Lin's expert flying.
OOC:
also confirming that the mark is strapped down and in restraints

"FTY -- you have exited a docking facility without requesting take-off clearance, you have accelerated to extreme sublight speeds in a crowded airspace and you are generally flying in a dangerous manner." The voice on the other end calmly states, "Please reduce speed to minimum and return to your assigned docking bay for a customs review and departure clearance check. Failure to comply may result in an authorization to fire upon and otherwise impound your vessel."

Mala confirms that their target is securely strapped down with restraints. After propping him up with some pillows, she begins to bustle around the bay tidying up some scattered gear -- none of it breakable or pointy, thankfully, -- that has helpfully bounced around thanks to Lin's flying.

Mindful of imminent danger at the intersection of Lin's piloting, Fuzil's planning and the general aura of 'good' luck that follows GreenPants everywhere he goes, I head to the engine room to keep an eye on things. While I lack the technical expertise to perform repairs or maintenance myself, I'm not that bad with computers. I start running diagnostics and keeping an eye on the status of the engine. If something starts to go wrong, I should be able to give Fuzil a warning and hopefully save time - and our lives.
OOC:
Using the Assist maneuver to help Fuzil with whatever Fuzil does next. As a Togruta, that means Fuzil gets 2 Boost dice : )

"Rodger that tower, very sorry for the swift takeoff! Unfortunately we are unable to return to that Mynock infested pit you call a hanger. I had to take off like a maniac just to shake the buggers off! We are making for vacuum before the last of 'em can chew through my power cables."
OOC:
Lin is lying through his teeth. Rolling Deception with 3 purple, as I assume this is a bit out of the ordinary and therefor more difficult.

Rolls

Deception (Cun=3, 1 rank)

2 Success, 2 Advantage, 1 Failure, 1 Threat

Total: 1 Success, 1 Advantage

May 5, 2016 4:08 am
OOC:
Adding two setback dice. 1 you're insulting the dockmaster's dock and he knows he doesn't have mynocks. 2, he's already very disinclined to believe you because you're behaving like a criminal.

Rolls

setback die for Lin's deception

2 Failure

Total: 2 Failure

"What are you talking about? There aren't any mynocks in my dock and if there were, I'm sure they'd steer well clear of that filthy piece of junk you're somehow keeping aloft." There's a brief pause and he comes back on channel, "I've asked our TIE patrol to escort you back to base. If you do not comply they will open fire."

Sensors indicate the TIEs are giving up their ground search and turning towards the FTY. In planetary terms, they're at short range.
May 5, 2016 12:49 pm
Fuzil seeing the sensors, points to then with his blue fingers.

"Lin this is not looking good. You think we can pull off the same thing we did when we were running from the Weequay raiders??" he asks quizzically?
May 5, 2016 2:20 pm
Lin turns to Fuzil and grins, "Buckle up stretch, and power up the shields." Lin begins executing Evasive Maneuvers (Upgrade difficulty of all attacks on the ship by one, upgrade difficulty of all attacks made BY the ship by one) and take the Gain the Advantage Action to negate our own penalties while making as much of a b-line as possible toward space.
OOC:
Assumed Tie Fighters were at max speed of 5 vs FTY max of 3 making the difficulty 4 purple. That downgrades to 3 purple if they are at speed 4, 2 if they are at speed 3, and one if they are slower than us.
OOC:
Youch! I'd like to use all 4 advantages to heal strain. Lin is hurtin' in that department.

Rolls

Piloting (planetary) (Ag=3, 1 rank)

6 Advantage, 3 Failure, 2 Threat

Total: 3 Failure, 4 Advantage

May 5, 2016 6:35 pm
OOC:
Lin -- the way I read Gain the Advantage, you need to be at 4+ speed to do that, so not sure FTY is capable of that action. Do you concur? This is my first vehicular combat, so I'm learning this somewhat.
Lin, to no one's surprise, isn't interested in being escorted back down to the docking bay. However, only Fuzil is aware of the impending joy. The FTY begins to spin upwards, which is vaguely detectable by those of the crew without a window. Akhrirar, for his part sees the planet spin and spin around him.

The TIE fighters gleefully see this as an opportunity to show their stuff and accelerate to attack speeds, closing the distance to the FTY just as the group breaks the atmosphere. They open up on the FTY and green bolts fill the immediate vinicinty of the ship. Lin does his best to dodge, but many land home, shaking the FTY.
OOC:
FTY takes 8 points of Hull Damage. Now 17/25. Round 1 of 6 to escape is complete.

Rolls

TIEs shooting at FTY!

3 Success, 1 Advantage, 1 Failure

Total: 2 Success, 1 Advantage

Adding a defense for the rear shields.

May 5, 2016 6:38 pm
OOC:
You are absolutely right Falryx, I read that wrong! Very sorry! Lets just assume I failed at avoiding their lasers...ouch!
May 5, 2016 6:40 pm
"Fuzil dammit the Ties are behind us! Angle the karking deflector shields!"
OOC:
I'm going to assume that Lin blames everything that goes wrong on the ship on Fuzil, and takes credit for everything that goes well, even if he had nothing to do with it.
May 5, 2016 6:42 pm
OOC:
Player actions! @Remnant - note that if you fire you have Red Purple (RP) difficulty due to Lin's evasive maneuvers.
May 5, 2016 6:43 pm
Feeling the juddering of the ship and the whine coming from the engines, Mala pushes the intercom button and patches into the cockpit

Was that lasers? are we being shot at?
May 5, 2016 6:46 pm
OOC:
Gunnery difficulty should be 3 purple and 1 red due to us being 2 speed slower than the Ties (assuming they are at max speed 5) according to the chart on page 234.
May 5, 2016 6:46 pm
"No, its mynocks." Lin says sarcastically.
May 5, 2016 6:47 pm
OOC:
How many rounds until we reach space and can safely jump to hyperspace in an Astrogation check?
May 5, 2016 6:48 pm
"LIN FLY THE DAMN SHIP LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!!!!" Akrirar yells over comms seeing the ship rise start spinning at a surprising speed.
OOC:
Let me know when I'm pointing in a direction so I can shoot back, with Gunnery?

I don't think that impacts gunnery - only Gain The Advantage. In section 2, assemble the dice pool, it only references silhouette diference (table 7-4) in the description.

You may fire now. RP against your gunnery skill. (RP = red purple not roleplay)
