1.0 - Acquisition: The Hyperdrive Specialist

Mar 5, 2016 3:48 am
Night has fallen, and the heavy, polluted air of Eriadu feels like it too is falling onto your skin, leaving behind who knows what -- a refresher when this job is done is not only mandatory, you’re convinced it will feel great. Not since her time on Nar Shaddaa has Mala been in this compact and urban an environment -- and the others haven’t seen such for even longer. Nonetheless, the job -- and your quarry is here.

It’s not long after the Battle of Yavin, and the planet of Eriadu still appears to be in official mourning for its Moff, and favored son -- Tarkin. During the short time you’ve been on this rock, you’ve heard talk about a memorial for the Grand Moff from all sorts of sources. It’s a given they’ll build something. Hopefully something more tasteful than the statues of Palpatine that now dot Coruscant and many of the Core Worlds.

Arrayed around a bar -- The Lucky Wampa -- some of you with your scanner goggles on, you look around for one Garven Polis. The job, as it came down, seemed straightforward enough: Find Garven Polis and abduct him for a handover on Tatooine. Eriadu’s not far from your home base of Sorocco, and Tatooine is just around the galactic corner -- an easy snatch and grab. No problem. Garven is reportedly an expert in hyperdrive physics or mechanics or some such.

You’ve been on-planet for about five days, scoping out the terrain and getting the lay of the land. The FTY is safely berthed at a moderately respectable star port that charges only slightly scandalous docking fees in return for less than your usual array of questions. Ahkrirar received an encrypted message on his datapad with the name of the Lucky Wampa a few hours ago -- and here you are, outside the Wampa, waiting for your target.
OOC:
Due to your time on planet, you will have some leeway from me (which would normally cost a destiny point) on scenery or setup, etc. Because we’re starting with action, you won’t have time to dictate setup, so I’m giving you some headroom to create it. When you hit my limit, I’ll let you know.

The Wampa is, it appears, something of a military bar. There’s a lot of obvious off-duty Imperial types waltzing into the place and the night is early, so you haven’t seen many come back out again. Zym catches a human matching Garven’s description entering the bar...

Mala has been feeling a little nervous lately -- her searches of the HoloNet have shown some disturbing, to her, queries that seem to suggest someone is taking more than a casual interest in the bounty she knows is on her head. When Mala has the jitters -- the rest of you feel it: you feel less prepared to handle the unexpected; you start watching more for rival bounty hunters; or you begin to worry about whether or not someone is going to plant a tracker -- or worse, explosives -- on the FTY.
OOC:
Mala suffers a reduction of 4 strain from her maximum for this adventure. Everyone else suffers a reduction of 2 from their maximum.

I elbow Ahkrirar, then nod in the direction of the human entering the bar. Then, I pull my robes up tight over my shoulders, get to my feet and start making my way through the bar towards the mark, looking to keep myself unnoticed by him and any who enter in his wake. As I effortlessly weave between the tables, stepping out of the way of a waitress as she delivers a tray of stiff drinks to a table of soon-to-be-rowdy Trandoshans, I make a point of staying out of the newcomers line of sight.

The Trandoshans stand out a bit at the bar, which is heavy on Imperials who have swung by after duty hours to blow off some steam. Zym is able to maneuver carefully though the bar, keeping herself somewhat hidden in the shadows of the bar -- and her cloak -- to avoid calling attention to another nonhuman in the vicinity. Outside of Lin, you will all stand out like a pulsar in this place.

Just as the target begins to look her way, Zym slips behind a man who cuts across Garven's line of sight -- and he looks to be headed that way (we will call this man "Bespin" for now). Bespin stands near Garven for a few moments, before sliding himself into a seat opposite the scientist, and the light reveals that he's wearing the uniform of the Czerka Corporation. Bespin leans in closely to Garven, thoroughly distracting him from all that is around him -- allowing Zym to move about the Wampa freely.

Lin enters the bar separetly from the rest of the crew, either rushing forward and brashly entering (the most likely) or hanging back, then brashly entering.

Lin walks like...not like he owns the place, but like he was thinking of buying it, until he saw the clientele. He's got his Scanner Goggles on and is keeping an eye on the mark, but he makes his way to the bar. "Whaddaya have for Corellian Whiskey? And don't try passing any of that cut rate hooch off on me, I want the real deal." Regardless of what the barkeep has, Lin will accept it, expressing surprise if its actually good and dishing out sarcastic abuse if it isn't. He is loud and abrasive, drawing attention from nearby customers.

His goggles mask his eyes, making it easy to keep an eye on the mark and Zym's progress.
OOC:
Adding a Deception roll in here, Lin's intent is to make himself a target, thus distracting the mark and any potential allys of his. Lin's not a bounty hunter, so he won't be recognized as such by any familiar with the business. Assumed average difficulty.

Mala has taken the precaution to change up her appearance. goggles on, cloth over her mouth, lekku arranged in a different style than usual for her. Mala hangs in the back of the bar, away from the action of the crew in order to not draw any attention to herself in case someone in this bar is looking for her. She is so on edge that she doesn't much pay attention to what the rest of the crew are doing and eyes all the possible entrances and exits out of the bar in case she needs to make a quick escape or to give her a chance to see anyone gunning for her before they see her. She's usually not part of the main operations of the team anyway. Usually when she's brought along on jobs it's to act as an extra set of eyes and to serve as a field medic in case things get too hot or a mark doesn't want to come quietly.

Taking a seat at a table along the west wall, Mala stays vigilant while holding the strap of her utility bag tightly and nervously looking around.

Nodding as Acaatha gives him a heads up he watches as more Imperials move in through the doorway. She's lost in the flow easily enough. As several of the crew enter Akhrirar does oddly the opposite non-nonchalantly walking around the exterior of the building rolling his head and shoulders a bit as he walks trying to loosen up and check for other doors to the establishment.

Turning on his commlink earpiece he inhaled deeply before he spoke to the group. "Okay people this isn't our first time doing this but we got Imperials inside. As usual if you need to call an audible over comms triple key on your comms, if no one says anything after keying we'll figure someone's stuck and get talk or move from where they are, do a sound off so we know who's in a jam. if you can't talk clear your throat when asked something, key twice for yes and once for no." he explained as he licked his lips.

"Acaatha let us know when you have eyes on our quarry. Darek oversight for threats, let us know what you see since you're probably at the bar by now. Doc, you're on electronics for distraction in there if you see an opening where we need a distraction on the electronic side of things see what you can do. Tot look around if we need to get the hell out of here quick and make it to the ship like Imperials are trying to kill us anything to get the target there quick is going to help. Best case I figure we slip something in his drink so he uses the bathroom and we bum rush him out the back after we knock him out. Worst case Lin accidentally starts a bar fight again and we get him out in the chaos and chase down the target while he escapes. Remember Tarkin just died so a round in his memory might go a long way at the right time. I'll be in once I scout the perimeter. It's gametime people lets make that money." he finishes. With his mic off he claps his hands together and rubs them as he looks around to see what he's working with on the perimeter.

Ok... It's Green Mamba in the house... Man I got to get better catch phrases... he thinks to himself before continuing to check out the bar for other exits.

Lin is served a drink by a skeptical, human, bartender. "3 credits" are demanded from the hotshot in exchange for the whiskey that's not that terrible by a long shot. A few of the other patrons -- especially those nearby to Lin glance at him or linger for a longer review. He's clearly new and seems a little loud and brash for this bar at this time of night. The off-duty troops appear to mark him and size him up.

Mala ups the alien-count in the bar by one -- it's now slightly above a handful and she cautiously finds a seat. Distracted, as she is, by the threat of a bounty hunter, she's under more stress than usual and feels distinctly out of place in a bar full of human off-duty Imperials, a handful of Trandoshans and her friends. (Mala takes 1 strain)

Ahkrirar's circuit of the bar is impeded by a couple of humans, "What you looking at buddy?" asks the taller one. They appear to have noticed that he's casing the joint. "Yah. Nice teeth." adds the second one.

Fuzil -- distracted from his tasty meal at the corner of the bar by Ahkrirar's request easily spots the front entrance, and then a door back to the back of the bar -- perhaps for offices or storage or whatnot. Fuzil's pretty suspicious that there will be a rear entrance for deliveries out that way, since the front door looks crowded by tables -- and more and more crowded by people as each minute rolls by.

Lastly, Lin exclaims about something he stepped in and he gets a couple of irate looks thrown his way. Someone nearby says, "Perhaps you stepped in something left behind by those Trandoshans. Why don't you ask them?" It's a transparent bid to let the Trandoshans step on the new guy and leave the regulars alone.
Mar 5, 2016 9:44 pm
Lin looks over at the Trandoshans, and notices that the table right next door is populated by what appears to be four off duty Imperial officers. They are speaking softly, heads together, and casting occasional disapproving looks at the Trandoshans. Lin turns back to the bartender, "Sorry about all the noise, I'm new around here. Listen, let me have five of the same." He lays down a big smile and a healthy tip.

Drinks in hand, Lins whispers into his coms, "Tighten up your wigs ladies, I'm about to stir the pot."

Lin sidles up to the table of officers, "Gentlemen, I'd like to offer you a round of fine Corellian Whiskey as a token of appreciation for all you do for the Galaxy. I'd like to propose a toast, To all the fallen, especially our esteemed Grand Moff Tarkin! May is service be remembered as an example to us all!"

Lin downs half his drink, then turns to leave, weaving a bit as if drunk. He stumbles into the back of one of the Trandoshan's chairs and "accidentally" spills the rest of his drink over the table of lizard men. "Hey!" he yells, "Nobody says that about the Grand Moff! Especially not some dirty lizard!" he's slurring his words as if much drinker than he really is.

Oh no, I'd say that Lin has the distraction department well covered in this case. I'm going to make sure the rear entry is clear. looks like when Lin starts a fight we'll have to grab the mark and make a run for it. I'll get the speeder started

Mala gets up and walks to the back, ostensibly to use the restroom. When she is sure the bar is more focused on Lin's antics than her, she goes about confirming the way is clear and, if so, is going to prop the back door open, warm up the speeder (I'm saying we had one stashed as way of prep for the job) and pulls it around back, ready to gun it as soon as the package is in hand. Judging from the sound of broken glass and angry shouting, not a moment too soon.

Hearing Mala over Comms Akhrirar blinks before addressing the two humans.

"Well I'm guessing I'm looking at two humans who aren't having the best of days and are trying to start something." he starts looking at the taller of the two before addressing the second. "Thanks, you know they're right if you want to take care of them you really need to brush twice a day at least and floss... everyone always thinks it doesn't make a difference but it does."

Not seeing Mala yet he opts to make sure these two humans are looking his way or they'll resolve to be elsewhere, "In any event I kind of know how this usually plays out. But since last time I got a fine for eating a guys kneecap in the middle of a fight I'd figure I'll let you know in advance. Even if it's self defense I'm probably going to get fined. But you two look like you like your kneecaps where they are so I'll ask in advance so there's no confusion afterwards call it a... verbal agreement." he states pulling out his Truncheon and opening his mouth and stretching his jaw, the tendons snapping, "Are we saying good bye and going our seperate ways or am I going to have be having a snack and a fine afterwards?"

Lin drops off his liquor and sets up the bar fight -- but isn't quite on his game. Fretting about whether or not he's slurring sufficiently, or too much, he takes a couple of strain (2 to be precise) as he tries to serve up a table full of Trandoshan's to the bar on Imperials.

The Trandoshan replies to Lin in his own gutteral language, "Back off pink-skin, we've said nothing about the Grand Moff -- who paid for more than one bounty which we have brought to him. The Scorekeeper knows this." The mood around the Trandoshans is mixed at this response. The Imperials to Lin's back stand up and back him up. "Yah, what's that you're saying about the Grand Moff there, scaley?" Tensions have raised, but Lin's acting hasn't quite pushed the bar over the edge.

Mala, meanwhile, makes a safe exit to the back and has an eye on the speeder. She's pretty certain she can here Akhrirar chatting up someone around the corner. The tone seems lightweight -- but, then, they always do for Akhrirar. In this particular case, the Noghri manages to be sufficiently intimidating that the two humans don't even respond to his chatter -- they look at one another and keep walking right around the bounty hunter and on their way, towards the front entrance.

Fuzil enjoys his soup.

Lin's going to get himself killed. Why that boy can't participate in a single job without starting a fight or setting something on fire I'll never know. Get the mark out now before this job ends up like the one on Naboo"

Mala hops in the landspeeder, starts it up and backs it up to the rear entrance, still nervously looking around for other "unknown quantities"
Mar 8, 2016 1:47 pm
Looking at the backs of the two humans he audibly bites down a few times to remind before Mala came up voicing concerns. Rolling his eyes at the thought of Lin in danger he pursed his lips and his shoulders slumped and he groaned at the mention of Naboo.

"Lin is always almost getting himself killed, that's one of his shticks. Remember the soup last week? Who pours soup in a mug since they don't want to clean the dishes and 'forgets' it's soup and drinks it and damn near chokes to death... while parking the ship. And you can't compare this to Naboo there's no animals to set on fire and send in there... I admit that was a bad idea though and we shouldn't have listened to Lin but we got a free meal out of it since we had to pay for the animal..." Akhrirar mentioned licking his lips... It had been pretty tasty.

"Tot Imma need you to keep an eye or the back area and the Doc she's got the Landspeeder ready to go so pay for your meal and get the rest to go if you can. Coming in through the front, if we need an extract through the front, Mala we'll let you know, you and Tot pick us up on the run. Lin keep your limbs close to your body if you actually get under the Trandoshan's skin and make him mad." Akhrirar states over comms before moving back to the front of the bar with purpose.

The Green Mamba himself is able to sneak into the bar without any trouble and the ease with which he does so makes him feel just that much happier with himself (recovering 1 strain). The bar is, more or less, as he expected it to be. A bunch of humans, a handful of aliens -- many of whom are his crew -- and Lin somewhere in the middle of a storm trying to get a good old-fashioned bar brawl to take place. It occurs to him that any brawl is liable to go horribly lopsided given the human vs. alien count -- but as the thought wanders into his brain, Lin flips a table.

Unlike last time, the Trandoshans have clearly had enough of this pink-skin's poodoo. Moving quickly, the one nearest to Lin stands up and takes a swing and.... pow! ... Lin has a bunch of green fist swelling into view before it connects with his head.
OOC:

He attempts to turn his wild backward fall into a controlled roll. He is looking to roll back, directly past the table of Imperial officers and into short range of the Trandoshans. Lin is able extract himself from the immediate brawl by adding a little extra oomph to the Trandoshan's punch. In so doing he does manage to ding himself up here and there between the legs of the clientele and the furniture taking one additional strain. He is able stand outside the immediate ring of trouble and draw his blaster... Someone next to Lin, looks like he makes a grab for Lin's blaster, concern on his face. "No blasters man!"

There is a tangible change in the tenor of the room. Acaatha, especially, is assaulted by a collective chilling -- and the edges of her vision darken slightly, and briefly, in response. Acaatha and Ahkrirar see a couple people gathered around the mark leading him out of the brawl to safety. Acaatha specifically notes that one of the escorts was no where near the mark earlier -- so he must be traveling with some kind of bodyguard.

"They're making for the front door, he has a bodyguard. I'll try stir them up. Make the front entrance inhospitable to coax them towards the back." I say over the comms before executing a variation of the previous plan. I choose the guard at the front of the group and tap into his vision, then I twist it so that the world he sees and the world that is pull apart. A man seated near the front door, to the bodyguards eye, appears to start rising as they approach, locking his gaze upon our mark as he draws a pistol. The intent to kill etched plainly on his face.

That is such an epic roll. I was convinced you'd fail. Awesome!

Two notes: (1) I misread the Control part of the power upgrade -- so the roll wasn't necessary, but since you succeeded, the point is moot, but I'll use the significant level of success to affect the outcome anyway. (2) It looks like Deception is required if you want to create things that aren't there -- e.g. illusions. It's one thing to change their perception of what is real, it's apparently another to create something out of whole cloth. I could see that being an intriguing skill to have, but it depends on whether you'd use that.

More update later.

Due to Lin's schedule (posted on absences) -- I'm going to roll for his coordination roll as he makes for the front door. Given the general nature of the brawl, i'm calling this a 'hard' task. he gets a setback for starting the fight, so it's not like he's not got eyes on him who may be interested in impeding his progress...

Rolls

Roll for next post.

Coordination roll: Lin.

2 Success, 3 Advantage, 1 Failure, 1 Threat

Total: 1 Success, 2 Advantage

Mala carefully aims the speeder and eagerly watches the back door -- through which no one exits. Over by the front door, there’s a bit of a commotion as one of the men accompanying your mark peels off slightly and begins to drub someone by the door. There is a lot going on there, but it looks like even though the man by the door was taken by surprise he’s putting up a surprisingly competent defense while seated, using his Blue Milk glass as some kind of shield. It’s a milky blue blur as it connects with wrists and elbows of the man trying to take him down. However, the milk does go flying in the end, as its wielder’s chair is upended by the bodyguard -- laying him flat on the ground.

Your mark is unceremoniously pushed outside the front door as his other minder swings in behind and gets them to the street -- where what brief glimpse you catch is that they start to run. Lin somehow manages to surf the crowd, catching someone’s nearly spilled drink and handing it back to them on his way to the front door. He reaches the front shortly after the mark and his bodyguard have started booking down the boulevard.

Akhrirar gets around the brawl, quite sneakily, somehow managing to blend in and be unobtrusive despite the fact he is both a Noghri and wearing bright green. It is a testament to the confusion of the unfolding brawl and his own ability to be unobtrusive.

Fuzil saunters towards the door -- arriving shortly after Lin as he calmly picks his way around the edges of the chaos blooming around the Trandoshans.

Speaking of chaos -- the fight is in full swing, and people have mostly edged away -- the five Trandoshans are easily fending off nearly a dozen off-duty Imperials and they are being quite careful to keep everything non-lethal. Here on this Imperial garrison planet, they know better than to go killing people they don’t have to. It appears the brawlers are somewhat enjoying themselves -- and there’s a certain sense that they’d better have their fun and be done soon before a platoon of Stormtroopers shows up and shuts down the party...
OOC:
Lin recovers 2 strain from his selfless maneuver to save someone’s poor drink.

Ahkrirar recovers 2 strain from his particularly expert avoidance of the brawl.

Note -- if you don’t post how you’ll spend advantage, I’ll try and wrap it up. Usually it’ll be a simple strain improvement. If you’re at max strain it will therefore behoove you to spend it differently. ;)

"Mark is running he's out the front of the bar with two guards, Mala I'm coming your way, if I can drop a body guard on the run extraction should be easier. Time for a snatch and grab... Like that time when Lin was running from his ex and we scooped him up but not as funny." Akhrirar states adding the last bit since the tension was on a bit. They'd be stalking their mark for too long to loose him now.
OOC:
Let me know if I need a coordination roll to book it from where I am into diving into the back of the speeder to get into position for a shot when she's out on the main drag. Hope you don't mind, making it cannon Akhrirar stun setting shot one of Lin's ex's that was chasing him... XD

Standing by, engines primed and ready. Taking off once Mamba is in the speeder. If anyone else wants a ride, you need to hustle
Mar 24, 2016 3:35 pm
"I'm after the Mark, pull that speeder around front quick." Lin drops all pretense of drunkenness and darts out the front door after the mark and his minders. As soon as he is clear of the bar entrance, and can see the mark and his minders, he draws his blaster and and shoots at one of the bodyguards.
OOC:
Using a maneuver to get into close range of the mark and his minders. Quick drawing blaster. Blaster is set to stun, strain/non-lethal damage.
OOC:
9 Stun damage to one of the bodyguards. Can I expend my advantage to say the Mark gets scared and trips, falling prone?

You know -- I've never thought about using advantage in an initiative roll to heal strain. Let me look into it. It's a skill roll, so I think the answer is 'yes' but let me see if I can find some guidance.

Didn't find much guidance, so will say 'yes'. Adding it to my house rules doc that I keep in google for my reference.

I will say this now so people aren't waiting for me. I will hold my action until akh is in the speeder. that would give everyone except Lin the chance to get in the speeder before she takes off after the acquisition
Mar 26, 2016 2:45 am
OOC:
Initiative is NPCs then all PCs.
The mark and his body guard continue to make good speed down the road -- the guard closer to Lin, pops out of the doorway with a gentle nudge for Lin to get out of the way and says, "Move it, bub." He follows in the footsteps of his colleague and his charge, not paying attention to Lin as a mere drunken brawler.

Acaatha gets to the door way after negotiating the brawl that appears to have unfolded just as Akhrirar jumps into the speeder with Mala.
OOC:
Current ranges:

Lin and Fuzil to lagging bodyguard -- Medium
Lin and Fuzil to mark and his closer guard -- Long

Lin -- I'm not sure what you want your plan to be -- so holding up for clarification.

Fuzil - I think you got to the door in the last bit of narrative -- you've got soup in your hand and some people running away -- what will you do?

Pausing on Mala for clarification from Lin and Fuzil
Mar 26, 2016 3:32 am
OOC:
If it's ok, I'd like to use my previous post still. As the lagging guard is running, I assume I'll need to use my maneuver just to maintain medium range. Would you like a complete reroll, or just a purple to add into the mix?
Mar 26, 2016 4:00 am
OOC:
Well, mechanically, you could do two manuvers and an action (at the cost of 2 strain). So I think you could close to medium for the far guys and get a shot off -- just be mindful that you'll have someone nearby who may take exception to you shooting at people.
Mar 26, 2016 12:01 pm
OOC:
Moving towards the mark and his body Fuzil will go with hot soul in his hand. Not at them howver closer to them. I will use 2 strain to get closer but no action
Fuzil moves briskly down toward the mark. Not looking at him so he seems to look like he is running away from the bar and its fight to save his food.

Unsure on the initiative order so stick me in wherever seems to make sense. If I need to just all out move to get in the speeder that's what I'll do otherwise I'll move and get my longarm out to mark the target. If I need to make a roll to get in using coordination otherwise going to aim since I don't think I have line of sight yet. Edit: If I needed the Coordination roll giving the boost die to the Doctor to drive.
Akhrirar would run and try to dive into the back of the speeder. Once in he'd let the doctor know to drive. If he had time he'd get his Blaster Rifle up so he could start aiming when he saw the Mark and his escort.

Lin hauls after the bodyguard who shouldered him aside. Lin's careful enough to look non-threatening the couple of times the guy looks back, but as he closes the distance, Lin's blaster comes up and fires into the leading bodyguard (the one next to the mark). This shocks the guy no fewer than 10 feet from Lin greatly and he stumbles and falls, rolling carefully before popping back up -- right in Lin's way and looking unhappy.
OOC:
Lin has a setback die for his next action.
Lin's shot lands -- blue fire coalescing around the bodyguard who stumbles slightly and falls to the ground in surprise. He's able to turn the fall into a controlled fall and ends up half-prone rather than flat-faced. He encourages his charge to keep running, signalling that he should keep heading into the center of the city. Passerby look at the unfolding drama with curiosity -- it's like some kind of Outer Rim backwater with people shooting at each other.

Fuzil brings up the rear -- not far behind Lin -- also within medium range of the leading pair and short range to the lagging bodyguard. His soup sloshes dangerously in its to-go container, but Fuzil's concentration manages to keep everything where it belongs. Nonetheless, given the blaster fire, he's suspicious the soup is going to have to get dropped pretty quickly...

Akhrirar hops elegantly into the speeder and with a cutting hand signal instructs Mala to floor it around the building to catch up with Lin and the runaway mark. Mala obliges and manages to have the speeder burst ahead -- narrowly missing the side of the building. She and her greenclad passenger come around the corner at high speed and see Lin and Fuzil arrayed before them with one of the bodyguards facing Lin. About a two dozen meters or so on, the mark is pumping his arms furiously as the other guard -- on his knees -- coaxes him onward.
OOC:
Round nearly ends (see note at end). Mala - I opted for an 'easy' piloting roll as you're in the city. 1 purple. That removed 2 of your failures. I also added Ahkrirar's boost die.

Current status:

Lead guard -- Larry (for L): has taken 1 9-hit stun before soak. Range medium to Fuzil and Lin.
Rear guard -- Ralph (for R): standing, short range to Lin and Fuzil, cranky.
Lin and Fuzil -- range medium from the door way (Acaatha, Mala and Akhrirar).

Lin takes 2 strain for an extra maneuver (your gun can't hit Long range so I assumed you closed to medium). Lin recovers 1 strain from his advantage for a total strain of -1.

Fuzil takes 2 strain for his extra maneuver.

NOTE: Acaatha -- you may have another round of action before the NPCs go (I'm not going to count getting to the door against you). Others may post next-round actions if you like, or you may wait for the NPC round.

NOTE: Mala -- you end with one advantage based on the boost provided. Any declared benefit?

Rolls

Coordination - lagging guard due to surprise while running flat out. Boost due to professional.

2 Success, 4 Advantage, 2 Failure, 2 Threat

Total: 2 Advantage

Relieved that she managed not to wreck the rental speeder the second akh jumped into it, Mala's self confidence receives a slight boost. Now that she can see the events unfolding in front of the bar, she guns the throttle and pilots toward the mark. the rest of her team can take care of themselves, and if she and akh can grab the acquisition and speed away, it will make the whole team have to work less for their payday.
OOC:
recovering one strain from the boost die, rolling again to pilot the speeder into position so akh can grab the mark from the side of the speeder, rolling again at 1 difficulty.

and sucking again... I want my advantage to go toward giving Lin a boost to knock ralph out. We can say I come far too close for comfort to him, distracting him just long enough to provide Lin an opening for a stun blast.

"Mala... Mala. Mala! MALA!!! We're gonna die!!!" Akhrirar states in a more and more frantic tone from the back seat his voice getting higher pitched with each word, between him and Totz Akhrirar was the worst of the back seat drivers in the group regardless of who was driving. "Clench and relax your knees!" he yells as they get closer to possibly tagging Lin with the side of the speeder.

Akhrirar sees the mark moving ahead with one escort not far behind and stands in the back of the speeder taking a foot up on the back seat to level his blaster rifle over Mala's head and the speeder and aims trying to line up a shot. Seeing a blast go by them he took advantage of people moving out of the way and looking for cover hopefully slowing down. If the bodyguards needed to carry the mark they'd be hampered, even in the mad scramble 'again' for the mark they had managed to spread out his escort meaning there were hopefully a few holes in the defense. Akhrirar hoped he could punch a big one in it as he squeezed the trigger..
OOC:
Aiming for a boost die, taking the boost from Acaatha. Rifles on stun setting since the mark needs to be alive. Edit: Advantage spendatures: Next poster (No you Falryx!) +1 Boost die, 2 advantage spent towards knocking the mark from the shot (11 Strain) into garbage cans, area around him is harder to move out of or into quickly.)

Lin skids to a stop as the bodyguard he hit jumps up to his feet right in Lin's path. "Ugh, why are you up?" Just then, Mala comes roaring past, almost clipping the bodyguard (and Lin). That's what happens when I'm not driving. Lin draws his second pistol and aims both guns at the guards crotch. Hope you didn't want kids...

Ok, here's what I'd like to do if I can. Let me know if its too much: Lin tries to blast this guy's goodies, but he yelps and leaps back out of the way (apparently he does want kids...), falling prone in the process. Lin's stun blasts go wild, and one almost hits the Mark, who stumbles and loses his maneuver on his next turn. If there's anything left over after that, I'll pass on blue dice to the next PC.

Acaatha runs after Lin, Fuzil and Ralph -- not quite catching up to them, but closing the distance somewhat. As she runs, her blaster fires off a series of shots at the tumbling and standing Ralph who seems to have the presence of mind to dodge one particularly close shot -- but he's unbalanced by his twisting and turning.
OOC:
Round officially ends - Initiative is NPCs then players.
The mark keeps running -- but he's puffing and puffing, running flat out for a significant amount of time is not in the job description for hyperdrive engineers. Nonetheless, he manages to pull the distance between him, Ralph, Lin and Fuzil to 'long' and to Larry to medium. Larry stands and his hand goes to a blaster pistol at his side. Seeing the speeder chuck around the corner with the elegance of a bantha that's gotten into the blue milk, he turns and continues to run after the engineer -- opening the distance somewhat to Lin and Fuzil -- but not quite edging into long range.

Ralph, on the other hand, has his eye on two marks and a speeder and he's not happy about what he sees. The blaster pistol comes out and he takes a shot at Lin. A hail of blaster fire -- set to stun -- ensues and Lin's vicinity is peppered with shots. Lin takes a hit but keeps standing. Lin's pistol, however has taken several shots and sails through the air before crashing into Fuzil and his soup. Unfortunately, the soup doesn't surving the encounter with a hot, high-speed pistol-as-a-rock and it too crashes to the ground causing Fuzil to exclaim madly at his lost soup and his gently burnt hand.
OOC:
Lin takes 9 - 3 soak = 6 strain from the stun shot. Fuzil picks up a setback die on his next action -- having lost his soup and burnt his hand.

Resolving player actions in posted order. Note that the first player (Mala) will get a boost from Acaatha's last round (huh, that was a great roll, sorry). Acaatha, don't forget to post your action for this round.
Mala's speeder piloting is... well, it's not why she's on the crew. Unfortunately, her turn around the corner is a bit wide. And by a bit, I mean pedestrians -- who have heretofore enjoyed the scamps and their gunplay start dodging to the side with shrieks of alarm. Akhrirar ducks as part of a lamp post collapses at the rear of the speeder after a gentle "kiss" that just ate up the damage deposit. Some sparks fly out of the console. But they're probably harmless and don't mean anything. Like that time Lin opened up the astrocomp to "Give it a good talking to." That said, while Mala doesn't quite to the mark, she does manage to close the distance to him and Larry from long range to medium with her, uh, "driving".
OOC:
I can't find a decent landspeeder statblock. So you're in a larger landspeeder that has capacity for the pilot and 6 passengers. I'm going to call it silhouette 2, speed 2, handling 0, defense 0, armor 0, HT threshold 6, ss threshold 6. If someone else finds a better set of statblocks for speeders let me know.

The speed takes 2 system strain (down to 4) due to the collision.
Akhrirar is duly convinced that he's going to die any moment now -- and his ability to aim while the speeder careens through the street causing passerby to dive out of the way and sparks to fly out of the console is somewhat impaired.
OOC:
Akhrirar - adding a setback die for your roll. I'll ignore the blank boost you rolled since Mala took the roll from Acaatha -- it's a wash either way, I suppose.
With some careful aim and a cautious pull of the trigger the Green Mamba lands a hit on the mark who stumbles into portable waste processing units, scattering them like mouse droids running from a wookiee. As the bolt streams past Lin into the mark, he pulls his other gun out and fires at the guard standing in front of him. Somewhat miraculously, despite the short range and the barrage of fire -- he misses. Every single shot. One of the shots goes wide and slams into the mark's head -- but at a range where the power of the bolt has diminished to the effect of being hit in the head by a pillow (wielded by a particularly hefty Klatooinian). With the double hit from Akhrirar's blaster rifle and his head ringing from Lin's.. uh... expert shot he stumbles and falls prone amongst the waste processing units.
OOC:
Waiting on Acaatha and Fuzil for turn completion.

Current status: Mark: hit by one 10-point stun; Larry: hit by one 9-point stun. Ralph: has a setback die.

Fuzil is short range to Ralph, medium to Larry and long to the prone mark.
Acaatha is short medium range to Ralph, Long to Larry and the mark.

As he is running towards the Mark he gains ground on. Him. The sloshing soup in the container is getting close to coming out.

"I better slow down a bit or i will lose the so..." his thoughts are interupted by a blaster bolt that shoots through the bowl and it explodes in his hands. "OWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!" Fuzil exclaims as the soup splashes on his hands. Is pain and throughly saddens by the lose of what could have been one of the best soup dishes he has ever had his grieving was also interupt by the sound of a landspeeder making crunching noises.

He turns his head to see the Mala attempting to drive the getaway vechile. With a sigh and blisters beginning to form on his arm he turns and starts making his way to the vechile seeing that his best option in his current condition woukd to be driving the speeder instead of running.

Getting a little too close to being knocked out the vehicle and becoming Green Mamba the Headless Bounty Hunter Akhrirar adjusts his shades before the fall off. Looking at the sparks out of the corner of his eye from the Speeder console had him concerned. Especially since all the damage just ate through their damage deposit. He wondering if they knew how his crew operated of if they hand special mind powers. He shook it off and cleared his mind and took his shot. Exhaling he thought the job was one step closer to completion.

"Target neutralized. Uh no he's up in running" Akhrirar states looking down the barrel of his rifle. Sucking his teeth as the mark moved out of his line of sight he took a moment to reassess. Inhaling the barrel dips slightly before it’s repositioned on the closer escort to the mark. Getting him away from the mark due to blaster fire or down and out of combat was the best option the other had to deal with Lin plus Acaatha. Akhrirar aimed again and squeezed the trigger again.

Having taken his shot he swears under his breath as a spark from the speeder arcs and connects with his hand for a second zapping him. "Ah! What the Hell Mala!" he states jerking his hand back.

As he takes a couple steps past the close bodyguard he casually, almost as an afterthought, shoots him again. Directly in the face this time. Then breaks into a run to catch up with the speeder.

Heavy edits. Forgot I lost a blaster.

Ok -- this update will go: Fuzil, Acaatha, NPCs. We'll be on player turns then. I'll pause in case posts need to be edited.
Fuzil cuts behind Lin, Ralph and between them and Acaatha on his way to the speeder, though the speeder is, well, speeding (if somewhat dangerously) so he winds up chasing after it as it skitters by with Akhrirar exclaiming loudly about either his impending doom or his mad skills depending on the moment.

Acaatha's blaster nearly drowns out her scolding of the partially disarmed pilot and she land a shot on Ralph who doesn't like the idea of another adversary showing up, but manages to shrug off the hit all the same.
OOC:
End of Round 2. Round 3 begins.
Your hyperdrive engineer target stumbles upright from amongst the scattered recycling units and looks around wildly before seeing the course Larry is instructing him to take. He ducks back down an alley like some rolly, polly, little bat-faced Toydarian. He is able to get far enough down the alley that he's no longer directly visible from the street. Larry, for his part moves to take cover amongst the recyclers and takes a shot at Lin. The blaster fire comes thick and heavy from Larry, but Lin manages to dance his way out of the range of fire -- but not so elegantly that he doesn't manage to trip and fall to the ground, prone.
OOC:
OOC the other advantage will be to pass a boost to Ralph
Ralph sees Lin take a tumble and turns his stunning blaster fire towards the Togruta that wants to tango. Acaatha takes a hit from the barrage of fire and shivers -- but manages to remain standing.
OOC:
Lin is forced prone by the advantage rolled by Larry. Acaatha takes 6 (post soak) strain from the stun shot. Larry takes 2 strain for an extra manuver and Ralph chooses to recover 2 stun with his advantage roll.

Status:

Mark: running down an alley, obscured from sight.
Larry: in cover (1 SB die) at the head of the alley. Long range to Lin, Acaatha, Fuzil, Akhrirar (3 purple)
Ralph: in the open near Lin. Short range to Lin, Fuzil, Akhrirar and Acaatha.

Ok. Need action from Fuzil and Acaatha.

Apr 1, 2016 9:25 pm
Fuzil makes his way to the speeder, seeing in his vision he raises his hand to flag it down ... Only to watch it zip right past him. Noticing the sparks as it went by he sighs and lowers his hand down and starts to move where the speeder is heading.

"I might be able to fix that so we can get our deposit back..." he thinks as he tries to catch up.

OOC:
Resolving player actions in this current order: Akhrirar, Mala, Lin, Fuzil, Acaatha.
The Green Mamba knows how to use a blaster rifle. And once more, the collective team is impressed and, truth be told, somewhat surprised, that he's able to line up a shot from a moving speeder at a target pretty far away who is crouching in cover and just plug him with the rifle. The stun-bolt from Akhrirar's rifle smacks right into Larry's left shoulder spinning him away from his cover to land in a small pile of noisy waste recyclers -- down for the count. Smiling at his work, he is shocked by some sparking control panels, distracting him somewhat from what's going on about him.

As Mala steers the speeder by, Lin quickly sweeps up his blaster and takes a shot at Ralph.
OOC:
Akhrirar takes one strain.
Mala manages to steer the speeder without causing undue harm to any passerby, herself or the Green Mamba -- or even Fuzil, who's headed over to hop in and help out. She pulls up just short of the alleyway without even bumping into one of the many rolling cannisters or setting the speeder down on top of Larry.

Lin skitters to the side, sweeps up his gun and plugs Ralph with a stun-bolt. It staggers the bodyguard, but doesn't drop him. He grimaces as he takes the hit and does not look at all happy with how things are unfolding.

Fuzil, meanwhile, runs past Ralph's back towards the speeder which cruises on by, Akhrirar swearing off-handedly at the lost damage deposit, the sparky console and his slightly singed hand. Acaatha works on getting closer to the mark -- closing the distance to the alley (and the rent-a-speeder now at the entrance piloted by her crew-mates) and turns to fire back at Ralph, but unfortunately misses.
OOC:
Round 3 ends. Round 4 begins.
The hyperdrive engineer seems to be trying to get into hyperspace through the effort of running -- he's shooting down the alleyway at full tilt. Doing so gets him several dozen meters down before he hangs a right down a parallel street to the one you're on.

Larry snores. Quietly.

Ralph decides that dropping one or two of you might be to his advantage, so he turns his blaster pistol on Lin and fires off several stun bolts in his direction. Lin is hit by one of the bolts.
OOC:
Lin takes 5 strain damage. The mark recovers 2 strain with his advantage.

Status:

Target: out of sight on a parallel street.
Larry: out for the count.
Ralph: short range to Lin and Fuzil.

@Acaatha: If you take 2 strain you can be @ medium range to the speeder and the head of the alley (for taking 2 maneuvers to close the distance).

Player turns now begin -- all 5 players can post in any order -- I'll resolve them in the order they are posted.

Getting closer to the speeder, Fuzil looks at the damges that he will need to repair. Noting in in his head the various parts that will need to be replace when all of a sudden the speeder, for lack of a word, speeds right off leaving Fuzil standing in a dusk cloud.

He lets out a sigh and then continue to makes his way again to the group.

May I expend a light side point to narratively add in a vehicle for Lin to "borrow"? Like a speeder bike comes around the corner right into the fight and slams on his breaks and falls of? Taking action now, if I can add in this speeder bike, I'd like to flip a point and use my maneuver to mount the bike.
Lin takes aim with his blasters, still set on stun, and fires at Ralph with both blasters, looking to take him out of the fight.
OOC:
Expending those two advantages to fire off both blasters. 5+2 is 7 from Blaster 1, 6+2 is 8 from Blaster 2 for a total of 15 stun damage. Tell me that palooka is down!

I continue to run for the alley, but don't push myself too hard. I can feel my limbs struggling against the shock of the stun blast that hit me moments before. More useful conscious and trailing than unconscious on the ground, I keep a steady pace.
OOC:
I won't be spending strain, as I'm worryingly close to 0 (I only have 5, a good blaster shot and I'm down; worse if I burn 2 just to make up some ground.. Others are closer already anyway. Akhrirar spins in position, lines up Ralph and peppers the region with several shots from his blaster rifle. Fortunately for Ralph, the range is enough to impede the Green Mamba’s aim sufficiently that some careful situational awareness and dodging ensures that he stays out of the line of fire -- unfortunately for Ralph this leaves him somewhat disadvantaged on his next action.

Mala guns the speeder -- it whines unhappily as she punches it, surging forward. Unfortunately for Mala -- it’s got a little more torque -- or misaligned gravimotors or something -- and it pulls sharply to the left as she guns it. Mala’s able to yank the speeder right and slaps the controls repeatedly to make the speeder behave. The speeder doesn’t appreciate the abuse -- either through the wheel or on the dashboard. It develops a loud whistling sound near the gravimotor and spits several more cascades of sparks at Akhrirar.
OOC:
The speeder takes 2 more system strain from the Punch It maneuver and 1 strain from the impact. That’s a total of 5 system strain taken by the speeder. It has 1 SS left.
Fuzil manages to use his two maneuvers to close the distance from where he was to the speeder to medium range before Mala guns the thing again and speeds off, jinking left and right -- seemingly out of control.

Some yokel on a speeder bike pulls around the bar where the fight is still in full swing and practically runs into Lin and Ralph. Skidding to a halt he learns the lesson of why he should have his seating restraints fastened as the bike dumps him off the side as it kicks to a full stop.

Lin uses the distraction to land a couple shots on Ralph, who staggers -- but remains upright. Disgusted with the state of play -- and Mala’s driving in particular -- Lin commandeers the speeder bike nearby, hopping on with a "it’s in the name of justice" tossed to the confused yokel who is about to see his speeder bike disappear around the corner.
OOC:
The enemy’s soak applies to both hits -- so you wind up doing 7 strain to him, rather than 15 since his soak counts for both hits. He’s hurting (like Acaatha) but not down for the count.
Acaatha keeps running towards the alley -- she closes the distance to the alley to ‘short’ range in doing so, right around the time Mala speeds off with the landspeeder and Akhrirar in varying degrees of grumpiness.

Ralph, for his part, is a little overwhelmed at everything going on -- but decides to continue to plug Lin with his blaster pistol and lands a hit just as Lin hops upon the speeder bike and gets "name of justice…" out of his mouth.
OOC:
Lin takes 5 strain from the stun blaster hit. Lin? Does this take you down?

Status:

* Ralph is standing, but woozy. He's medium range to both Fuzil and Acaatha.
* Fuzil is medium range to the alley
* Acaatha is short range to the alley.
* Mala and Akhrirar (and the speeder) have pulled away such that they're now at extreme range to Lin and Ralph and Long range to Acaatha and Fuzil.

No! Lin has one strain left after applying soak of 3!
As Lin mounts the speeder, he grins at the youth gaping at him from the ground nearby, "Imperial Security kid, I'm commandeering you spee--HRK!" when he's hit by a stun bolt. He slumps over the controls, and the world goes gray and spinney for moment, then snaps back into focus.

Lin laughs maniacally and revs the speeders engine, then "peels out".

Watching the scene unfold everything seems to be surreal to the Bounty Hunter. Watching Lin get short at close range and still manage to steal a speeder made Akhirar wonder about Lin's past a bit. He was focused it seemed, or at least he was going a little crazy... how much did he have to drink... that wasn't coming out of the company account if he gets a fine. Feeling the jerking and sputtering under him he looked down at the back of the speeder... a piece of the body opted to fall off when he looked down at the back.

"Well everything's going to Shab at Hyperspeed..." he comments quietly to himself and exhales.

"Green Mamba Spin Class Playlist Song #2" he states to himself after double tapping his ear piece. Walking to the back of the speeder he aims and takes a shot before hopping off the possible death trap as he continued to spark. He Points at Ralph rocking his head sideways and giving him the crazy eye to the music before tapping his comms he gave some on the fly orders.

"Mala put it in Park, Check over Acaatha when she gets to the Speeder since she's looking rough. Acaatha just get to the speeder and cover Totz so he can work if you can. Totz fix this spark shooting speeder so we can turn it in, Lin's being himself so I think he's going to run over the Mark... I'm in pursuit after I stretch. We'll let you know which way we're going." he states still bobbing his head to the music and does a pose before stretching his mid section by rolling his hips around.

A spark arcs wide and hits Akhrirar in the behind while he stretches, "Gaaa~~! Are you doing this purposely Woman!" he exclaimed in a shrill higher pitch than he usually talks in.

I'm sorry... I'm sorry... I'm having a really stressful day and nothing is going according to plan and.. and .. Mala pulls up her goggles so she can wipe at her eyes as she takes a deep breath. Sorry She says sheepishly.

Mala readies her medkit and waits for Acaatha to make it to the speeder.
Apr 13, 2016 10:55 am
Fuzil watching a speeder go back and forth, crashing and burning, all thinking I have my work cut out for me today. He shrugs and makes his way over to the idle speeder where Mala and Acaatha are, reading his tools at the say time.

Lin hrk's like the best of them, but manages to stay upright on his speeder -- with a bit of flair he skirts around the discarded civilian and Ralph and takes off around the corner to intercept the mark. He scorches past Mala and Akhrirar and their sputtering speeder with a casual air of someone who is a little punch drunk with stun-blaster shots, and yet supremely confident. Certainly no harm can come of this mixture...

Akhrirar takes a shot at Ralph with his rifle -- but is denied any visible impact due to the range. Ralph barely registers the shot which peeters out and fades before getting to him -- but it did look like it would have been quite the hit had the range been not so bad.

Acaatha -- at long range to the speeder closes the distance -- but still has a ways to go (2 maneuvers) before she's there. Before she continues her jog, however, she manages to land a shot on Ralph that causes him to teeter.. then totter, then finally fall flat -- arms splayed just enough to prevent serious damage to his body before he does his impression of a rock in the middle of the street. Turning to jog to the speeder, Acaatha manages to distract herself a bit with Larry nearby -- concerned about a sudden attack that doesn't arise.
OOC:
Acaatha takes 1 strain for the threat generated.
Mala is able to pull over the speeder at the behest of her crewmate and prepares for the arrival of an exhausted Togruta. Fuzil continues what must feel like a marathon session of closing the distance to a speeder constantly zooming out of range. He's able to close from long to medium range (next round Fuzil can be close enough to manage).
OOC:
End of round 5. Round 6 begins.

All NPCs are incapacitated or out of sight. So -- you don't know what happens.

Status:

* Larry: unconscious
* Target: out of sight

* Acaatha took 1 strain.

"Nice shot Acaatha." Akhrirar states having stretched out and slung his rifle. Taking a runner's stance he bolts down the alley the way that the mark had gone.
OOC:
To cover more distance with a burst of speed do I want to use strain to just move more or do you want an athletic or coordination due to the alley way not being a straight away check at probably PP or PPP? Some SB dice due to trash? *Gets the Chase music ready*

Lin is going pretty fast on that speeder; faster than a person can run. When I round the corner, do I see the Mark? If so, my intent is to block his path and use Coercion to force a surrender. Fuzil moves towards the stopped speeder, waving his hand trying to disperse the smoke coming out of it. His lips come together to make a TSK TSK TSK however this has become common place in this line of work.

Grabbing his wrench from his tool belt he begins to make quick cosmetic repairs.

Lin continues to speed down to intercept the hyperdrive engineer. When he gets at the main street which runs parallel to the one currently hosting two sleeping bodyguards and most of the rest of the crew, he sees the mark to his right -- not far, he thinks he can overtake him.

Unfortunately, however, he also sees three squads of stormtroopers, looking like they mean business, descending on the guy. Regardless of whatever security he enjoyed while out and about, it looks like the Empire is serious about keeping this guy under lock and key. The troopers are a good few minutes at their double-time pace away from the mark. The question before Lin is whether or not he can nab the mark and get the mynock out of there before the blasters start flying fast and loose. Stormtroopers aren't likely to use the stun setting.

Akhrirar makes it most of the way down the alley the mark had taken -- another bit and he'll be able to turn the corner. Right now, all he sees is a nondescript alley without much excitement ahead.

Fuzil tsks over the speeder, breaking out a toolset as he gets nearby. Working quickly, Fuzil pushes himself to get the speeder back in better shape -- and gets shocked repeatedly for his lack of caution (favoring speed). He's able to recover 2 system strain on the speeder (taking it to 3) but suffers 2 strain himself to accomplish this.
OOC:
The damage control rule doesn't have rules for additional successes -- so I opted with '3 additional successes = +1 strain' while in a combat/managed scenario. 2 = +1 strain outside combat, but without lots of time to get things ship-shape.
Acaatha works her way over to Mala and the doc hands Acaatha some pills and a flask of water.
OOC:
Strain recovery is wonky in this game. There's no device/mechanism that explicitly heals strain other than time and rest -- or bonuses to medicine rolls. It's weird. Given Mala's success -- I'll say she can help Acaatha recover 2 strain (her Medicine level) - but within an encounter, this ability reduces its benefit on each use, like a stimpack.
Apr 18, 2016 1:38 pm
Akhrirar keeps running after the mark and puts two fingers to his neck as he does.

Wow... I'm still at my resting heart rate... Considering everything that makes me pretty amazing... I hope we get our deposit back. he thinks to himself pressing forward on the move.

Apr 21, 2016 12:02 am

We'll treat these ad-hoc medicine applications for strain like a stimpack for wounds. you can apply several, but because your medical skill is just 2, you get limited benefit. E.g. the first time you succeed you'd get 2 + say 1 additional heal per 3 success. The second time you'd get 1 + 1 (per 3 success). After that you get 0 until your skill goes up or the encounter is over.

Since Lin said he'd post tonight I'll wait for his update before moving you into the next round.

Fuzil, Mala and Acaatha clamber aboard the not-quite-as-sparking-as-it-was-before speeder and Mala kicks it into gear once more. It sputters to life, a little unhappily, but seems to be in operating condition. Looking down the alley-way where the mark and Akhrirar bombed down they can see the Green Mamba hoofing it at a good rate towards the end and the next street over.

Lin feels pretty good about his deception -- good enough that he feels like can easily pull this off. Unfortunately the hyperdrive engineer doesn't agree. He gives Lin a skeptical glance and spots the stormtroopers not too far away. Resolution crawls across his face as he continues to make his best possible speed towards the oncoming Imperials.

We'll go with what you have.
Mala kicks the rental speeder into gear with Fuzil and Acaatha aboard. Feeling a little more certain now that she has a mechanic on board and she managed to help out her crewmate, she's able to pilot through the streets after Lin without any trouble. If one were to be less than charitable, one might also point out that the pedestrians and other traffic had thinned out somewhat, either due to her driving or the blasters -- but... we'll save that for another day.

Akhrirar comes around the corner to see Lin a bit in the distance on his stolen speeder just as Lin runs down the mark. The Green Mamba can't help but wince when he sees the expert take-down by the pilot. He can also see a good dozen or more Stormtroopers heading right for Lin and the Hyperdrive Engineer...

Lin, for his part "accidentally" scoots the speeder a bit and flattens the mark on the ground -- not so bad to cause any permanent damage, mind, but enough to buy some time. That said, the poor nerd was really a bit over-worked and feeling ready to collapse and the gentle nudge into the dirt provided courteously by Lin is enough to knock him to the ground where he doesn't move to get up. Atop the bike, Lin isn't certain if he's just tanked the bounty or not. Looking at the Stormtroopers, he has scant minutes before they're upon him.
Apr 25, 2016 2:47 am
Now we're talking! See? I can drive this thing! I'm driving just fine!

Mala whoops and hollers with a smile on her face now that she isn't endangering lives. Now to get to Lin and extract the Mark while dodging blaster fire from stormtroopers! Piece of cake! hopefully things will go far better than they did on Phindar.
Apr 25, 2016 1:18 pm
As Fuzil reaches for another wrench the he jerks forward as the speeder takes off. Looking back he sees Mala driving again... And well!

Seeing that she is not going to wreck the speeder on this trip he remembers a way to fuel by pass the regulator and will boost the speed. He ducks his head back into motor and starts working on the "booster".

Akhrirar jerks while running seeing the 'dinking' of the mark. He's glad they have a doctor... actually it's the main reason they have a doctor he thinks at times considering how normal Lin's action just now was. He presses on trying to get into the area trying to pat himself down.

This one better not be Pink... I asked for Green Specifically and had to pay. If not I'm letting him know I want my money back. he thinks to himself trying to find it.

"Mala we got Stormtroopers incoming and Lin just let the Mark kiss the front of his speeder. We're probably going to be going out hot." he advises as he keeps huffing it to the mark.
Apr 25, 2016 1:54 pm
Mala gets on the comms, sounding concerned.

how sloppy of a kiss are we talking about here?
Apr 25, 2016 2:00 pm
Lin climbs down off his bike and check the mark to make sure he's still breathing, blaster in hand and set to stun. "I think he's unconcious. I can't carry him on this speeder bike, get over here fast!
Apr 25, 2016 2:04 pm
"Don't know not close enough, sounded like that guy on Alluyen when he told Lin stop flirting with his woman and Lin drove that speeder into the bar... drunk. Kinda 'wet' I guess?" Akhrirar huffs.

Checking CRB. I don't see an option to boost the system mechanically in the rules. For narrative purposes though, we'll just let it ride rather than requiring a skill check (as it's a relatively benign situation). In proper vehicle vs. vehicle combat I'd probably be a little pushier about following the rules here (with a lack of a speed boost option).
Apr 26, 2016 12:41 am
Fuzil monkeys with the speeder a bit -- giving it a brief jolt of speed. The rent-a-wreck doesn't seem to enjoy being pushed this hard and it starts to spark and complain. The additional speed and distracting sparks concern Mala somewhat seriously and reduces her confidence that this thing isn't going to just explode into a fireball of doom.
OOC:
If you keep up the speed another round, I'll take a system strain from the speeder. Mala suffers a setback die on her next piloting roll.
Mala coasts, somewhat on her success and pulls around the corner only gently tapping into Lin's hijacked bike as she stops. This causes the bike to shift a little and one of the flanges uncomfortably pokes Lin in the back as he's looking over the mark. Acaatha finds a way to say moderately encouraging things about Mala's driving in a show of solidarity.

Akhrirar is hoofing it up from the alleyway and is likely to arrive in a minute or so. The Stormtroopers are getting dangerously close.

Hearing Mala Fuzil lets the flow increase and the engine roar loader... However seems that this model of speeder was modded already so the outcome was more then he was thinking. He turns back to Mala and gives her a big Groot grin and a thumbs up.

"I believe it's ready to go!" he says loudly over the engine noise.
Apr 28, 2016 1:18 am
Lin lifts up the hyperdrive engineer and with a little help from Acaatha pushes the mark into the speeder while she yanks on his limp arms to bring him across the edge. He lands in the bottom of the speeder with a bit of a "thunk" just as Akhrirar arrives. The groups of stormtroopers sense something is afoot. Stray blaster bolts start heading your way -- though the distance is clearly too great, even for the vaunted stormtrooper accuracy.

Taking this as a sign to get gone Akhrirar jumps, a little tiredly, into the speeder once more -- skeptical of a couple shorting panels nearby. Lin is poised to either hop back onto his commandeered speeder bike or into the group's speeder.

A few more blaster bolts pass overhead -- which has the added benefit of clearing the roadway. Mala's inexpert driving is up to the task on the broad, empty thoroughfare and she gooses the speeder to get back to the docking bay. Lin is able to, almost casually, keep pace with the rent-a-wreck and is able to see the stormtroopers pass into the distance quickly.

At this rate -- and assuming there isn't anything more tragic about to land, you feel like you're about five minutes, maybe six, from your destination.

When Lin reaches the FTY, lowers the ramp to the cargo hold rather than the passenger corridors, and pulls the speeder bike in with him. I'ma buy Fuzil some more of that Nerf Stew he likes so much and convince him to soup this baby up for me, he he.

He then sprints to the cockpit and makes sure the preflight checks are complete.

"Get the lead out kids! All aboard what's comin' aboard!"
Apr 29, 2016 11:53 pm
The cargo bay closes after Lin as he jumps up into the FTY and heads to the cockpit. Thanks to his piloting, and the slightly better speed profile of the speederbike he as about 90 seconds on the rest of the crew. He's about halfway through the preflight checks when Mala manages to get the rent-a-wreck in close proximity to the FTY.

The ramp comes down just as the distinctive roar of TIE fighters screams across the sky. Looking up -- they pass quickly overhead. It's unclear if you've been traced to the FTY or not.

With the rest of the crew pounding up the passenger ramp -- and Lin carefully (sic) closing it behind them as they hop on, Mala nervously pilots the rent-a-wreck towards the cargo ramp. Though she tries valiantly, and feels somewhat encouraged by her efforts, she nonetheless manages to park by feeling rather than expertise. That is, she feels the speeder bump into Lin's stolen bike. Both speeders look a little bit worse for the wear -- yet more work for Fuzil to do when he has the time, the credits and the parts to get them back in working order....

With a clang and the whirr of interlocking components, the cargo elevator raises shut and latches into place, the FTY is now ready to head for orbit.

Mala makes certain your unconscious hyperdrive engineer remains that way and carefully straps him into the examination table in the sick bay. As a result of her examination, she determines that he's simply suffered a great deal of strain and was probably close to exhaustion when Lin knocked him to the ground with his speeder bike. The latter was likely the icing on the cake -- since it also gave the mark a reasonably sized contusion on the head. But as bumps on the head go, it doesn't look remotely threatening upon examination.
OOC:
Since you're just looking to diagnose and you're actually a doctor and there's nothing strangely wrong with him - difficulty would only be 1 purple as a result, you have 1 success and 6 advantage.
Fuzil plops into a seat behind Lin and turns to the navicomp and begins punching buttons in a furious effort to plot a hyperdrive jump. Looking over the computer he hums to himself as his fingers fly over the controls coaxing the navicomputer into life. Given some of his time and attention, he's able to identify a few (safe!) short cuts in computing the route. The navicomputer helpfully beeps at him indicating that it will be done calculating his proposed path in about four minutes.
OOC:
I'm going to use the base time for a calculate to warp speed at 6 minutes/round to a known destination until I get better source info. Successes will reduce that time by a minute/round. Threat/advantage will impact travel time or locality. Failure will depend on what I feel will make a better story.
Akhrirar hops down into the dorsal turret, deciding not to climb up and work against gravity after his long work out. He straps into the gunnery chair and begins to flip on the various controls to get the targeting computers online and the cannons warmed up. With a flick of a switch over on his right he links the ventral cannon to his computer in order to control both in any upcoming firefight.
OOC:
I'll assume you are firing linked unless another player takes over the ventral cannon.
Acaatha finds a safe place for now -- mindful that she may be needed to perform emergency maintenance or otherwise help Fuzil keep the FTY in-flight while you all attempt to escape Eriadu.

Lin... well, he's in his element. Seeing, hearing or hoping that everyone is strapped in, he lifts the FTY off the ground, points it gently upwards over the rim of the docking bay and aggressively pushes the throttle forward. The FTY responds and immediately blasts out of the docking bay like a gundark on the hunt. Although Eriadu is a populous planet with plenty of ship transit, the behavior of the YT-2400 blasting out like that is deeply suspicious to the authorities and the commlink near Lin blinks repeatedly as they are hailed by starport or traffic control... or both.
OOC:
It will take 6 minutes/round to get to safe hyperspace distance from Eriadu.
May 3, 2016 2:55 pm
Lin answers the comms call. "Captain Lin Darek of the FTY, what can I do for you?" his voice is calm and conversational, as if he had no idea that his flying is anything out of the ordinary. In fact, it's quite likely that he truly doesn't.

Mala holds on to the examination table holding the hyperdrive specialist for dear life as the G forces push down on her and eventually even out when the inertial dampers kick on.

One day that boy is going to tear the ship apart with his flying Mala mutters under her breath as she begins to make their new guest comfortable. She can't move him yet until they're safe in hyperspace, so she works to make him as comfortable as she can: pillow under his head and his knees, cold pack on the bump on his head, warm blanket, etc. When she's done with that, she will re secure any medical equipment that may have been shaken loose thanks to Lin's expert flying.

The voice on the other end calmly states, "Please reduce speed to minimum and return to your assigned docking bay for a customs review and departure clearance check. Failure to comply may result in an authorization to fire upon and otherwise impound your vessel."

Mala confirms that their target is securely strapped down with restraints. After propping him up with some pillows, she begins to bustle around the bay tidying up some scattered gear -- none of it breakable or pointy, thankfully, -- that has helpfully bounced around thanks to Lin's flying.

Mindful of imminent danger at the intersection of Lin's piloting, Fuzil's planning and the general aura of 'good' luck that follows GreenPants everywhere he goes, I head to the engine room to keep an eye on things. While I lack the technical expertise to perform repairs or maintenance myself, I'm not that bad with computers. I start running diagnostics and keeping an eye on the status of the engine. If something starts to go wrong, I should be able to give Fuzil a warning and hopefully save time - and our lives.

Sensors indicate the TIEs are giving up their ground search and turning towards the FTY. In planetary terms, they're at short range.

Lin -- the way I read Gain the Advantage, you need to be at 4+ speed to do that, so not sure FTY is capable of that action. Do you concur? This is my first vehicular combat, so I'm learning this somewhat.
Lin, to no one's surprise, isn't interested in being escorted back down to the docking bay. However, only Fuzil is aware of the impending joy. The FTY begins to spin upwards, which is vaguely detectable by those of the crew without a window. Akhrirar, for his part sees the planet spin and spin around him.

The TIE fighters gleefully see this as an opportunity to show their stuff and accelerate to attack speeds, closing the distance to the FTY just as the group breaks the atmosphere. They open up on the FTY and green bolts fill the immediate vinicinty of the ship. Lin does his best to dodge, but many land home, shaking the FTY.

Note some additional actions for folks not piloting or shooting:

Copilot - help downgrade Lin's piloting difficulty (average piloting check)
Jamming - inhibit their ability to use communications systems (average computers check)
Boost Shields - suffer strain to enhance the shields (hard mechanics check)
Manual repairs - repair 1 point of hull damage on success +1 per additional 2 success (hard athletics can do mechanics with tools) -- think this is limited once per encounter - it's unclear
Fire discipline - add a boost to the next shot (hard leadership or discipline check)
scan the enemy - get info (hard perception check)
slice enemy's systems - hack shields or weapons on a triumph (hard computers)
spoofing missiles - upgrade difficulty on guided attacks (average computers or hard vigilance)
damage control - reduce system strain (can be used for hull trauma too but sounds like it's limited to once per encounter - not sure how this interfaces with manual repairs)

additional maneuvers someone other than can do:

standard personal maneuvers (aim, drop prone, etc.)
angle deflector shields

Discipline (Will=2, no ranks)

3 Success, 3 Threat

Total: 3 Success, 3 Threat

May 6, 2016 5:03 am

I read Fire Discipline differently. With 3 success you get boost die to next crewmember to fire a weapon. The extra 2 success extends that to a second crewmember (not sure if it carriers across rounds for Akh or not -- happy to have it do that unless this gets out of hand).

Fire Discipline: The crewmember forgoes fighting to analyze the opponents' tactics and direct his fellows to greater accuracy with their weapons fire. If successful, the next crewmember firing a weapon aboard the ship can add BOOST to his check. Each additional SUCCESS SUCCESS grants this to an additional crewmember. In addition, the crewmember may spend ADV ADV ADV to allow every hit from shipboard weapons to inflict 1 system strain on their target as well as regular damage until the beginning of his next turn as the carefully timed shots pummel shields and overload systems.

Net: since Akh is on guns, I think he gets a BOOST for his next two firing actions.

OOC:
Sounds right to me. Sorry, I've got this home made action/maneuver reference sheet I work from. Its abbreviated and worded a bit badly. My #1 complaint about the FFG SW books is their terrible layout. Referencing rules and stat blocks is a pain in the butt!
May 6, 2016 5:09 am
Despite the banter, Lin stays focused on the task at hand and continues to pilot the FTY like a random leaf on the wind. Throughout, he manages to keep the TIEs on the rear quadrant. However they are able to use their superior speed to come in for more than a single strafing run. Akhrirar, for his part does what he can to blow one of 'em out of the sky, but isn't able to land a clean shot, as the nimble TIEs artfully dodge out of the way.

Fuzil and Mala feverishly poke at the control systems in front of them -- one managing to jam the communications from the TIE fighters to prevent them from calling for backup and the other looking perplexed at the screen, attempting to find systems he can turn off to reroute some additional power to the shields. However the FTY's power regulators are giving Fuzil a little bit of a hard time.

The TIEs swoop in again and although Lin has done a good job keeping the shots off of the FTY -- several hit again causing the ship to shudder. However the pass puts them in an unhelpful position -- they will likely suffer on their next attack run as a result.
OOC:
Note that you guys can use destiny points to upgrade my difficulty by one step (so RR); but someone should mention it in their turn... Another 8 points of damage.

OOPS, I haven't been using your Armor stat. Armor 4 means it acts like soak. So from both attacks you've taken a TOTAL of 8 damage. So FTY is 17/25 hull damage now. Whew.

TIEs take a Setback die next round due to the threat.

End of Round 2. 2 rounds until you have a hyperspace plot. 4 rounds until you are at a safe distance to jump. Next action gets a boost from Fuzil.

That's a good question. I think I'd say the answer is no, unless they break through, or unless you want to make it harder. Given it's a minion group you affect the entire group and your four successes means they'd have to roll against PPP computers to break through.

To my mind, making someone continually roll to keep jamming comms doesn't feel useful/fun. But I'm happy to have other perspectives here. Tuk? What's been your experience?
May 6, 2016 5:31 am
OOC:
that works for me. makes sense that you'd only roll again if you want to make it more difficult (try to get more successes than last time) since I got 4 successes, I'm going to move on to something else
ok lin, it's obvious that you need some help. Switch the controls to tandem!

Mala hops out of her seat behind lin and moves to the copilot chair. After knocking the empty cups and nerf nugget wrappers out of the seat, she grabs the copilot controls and helps lin shove the control yokes farther with their combined strength.... unfortunately Mala pulled in the opposite direction Lin did.

As the ship rocks under the impact of weapons fire I abandon the engine room and race for the cockpit - clearly Lin and Fuzil should not have been left alone. Upon arrival I see Mala in the co-pilot chair and I groan, "Mala, move!", and as she is presently in the middle of 'helping' Lin fly the ship, I start hitting buttons and flipping switches over her head to disable to Mala's controls and prevent her 'assistance' from disrupting Lin's flying.
OOC:
Mala, I've got 3 Agility - so if we're doing this untrained, Acaatha should probably take the seat ... Flaryx, how would/should I be making use of the Assist maneouver? I'm trying to use it to Assist Lin here and give him +2 Boost from Pack Hunter

Answering questions:
Remnant says:
How does the linked weapons work?
IIRC if you have 2 ADV you can spend them to have the other weapon also hit. This would be a good idea for you given a TIE has 6 health + 2 armor and your cannons hit for 6 base damage (so 1 success is 7 damage, or leaves them alive).
Candi says:
Flaryx, how would/should I be making use of the Assist maneouver?
For the "assist" maneuver/action in the general sense, it has to be something where an additional person can functionally bring expertise or muscle (or whatever) to bear. As a result, I think that bonus is easy to apply to say making repairs or something -(and thus pack hunter would apply) - I think it's less applicable in piloting.

There is a 'co-pilot' action that you can do which is defined in the rule system we can use. Your higher agility will make it more likely to succeed than Mala. Figure what you're doing as co-pilot is thinking about what your pilot is doing, and monkeying with ship systems to make them ready for the pilot (e.g. diverting power to the maneuvering components as he pulls into a spiral dive, rebalancing engine flow, looking out for problems and warning about them, etc.).

This round Mala has already used that action, so you'll be able to contribute in Round 4.

Mala hops into the co-pilot seat and starts flicking buttons to "help" Lin. Unfortunately while she's easily established herself as the guru in the medbay, her understanding of the finer points of managing energy or other items for flying a ship in combat is... somewhat limited. While she doesn't inhibit Lin or his piloting, she also isn't particularly helpful. Some buttons flash a helpful red, others green. None of them seem to help. That said Mala does feel like she's helping and this calms her nerves somewhat.. but not much.
OOC:
Mala - you have 2 adv to spend. I'm assuming since I didn't see a statement that you recover strain.
Akhrirar fires off several strings of shots at the pursuing TIEs. As one of them lands a few more hits on the FTY, it peels off a little slower than it should. Whether it's this or Lin's careful exhortations to "do better or lose your leggings" or Akhrirar's innate talent will no doubt be a subject of many conversations around the dinner table. Regardless, both cannons land hits. TIE fighters aren't really meant to be hit by things like laser cannons, and a result it bursts into a ball of flame. Score one for the good guys! Akhrirar's success is somewhat motivating to a team that's been on the receiving end of some cannons.
OOC:
Yes, I know we're in space, and yes I know explosions wouldn't happen, but we're in Star Wars, so I'm sticking with it.
Acaatha comes up from engineering and gently scoots Mala out of the co-pilot seat to lend a hand if need be while Fuzil wanders aft to pick up his toolkit and start repairing the FTY. Again.

The lone TIE continues his assault on the FTY, figuring his maneuverability is way better than the FTY's. Large flashes of green light swing by the cockpit as it flies by trying to land some hits. However, it would appear that Lin's flying or Akhrirar's shooting has kept it distracted enough that it misses the FTY throughout its efforts! Perhaps this too will be debated at the dinner table...
OOC:
FTY hull at 17/25 still. No new damage.

End of round 3. Hyperspace plot ready in 1 round. Safe distance to jump to hyperspace in 3 rounds.

Fuzil gets into his own environment nownin the engine room. Was pondering of a less violent solution to this problem and makes his way to the computer in the room.

Fuzil hunches over his console in engineering and begins an assault on the TIE's limited networked computer systems. He manages to fire off several duplicate processes that seek to overwhelm the TIE's data processing capabilities, causing some time lag in the TIE's targeting systems.

Meanwhile, back in the cockpit, Acaatha's help is a welcome change from Mala's enthusiastic, but perhaps not helpful rebalancing of thruster flow, enhancing Lin's ability to make the FTY do what it needs to do. Just as Lin starts to smile and develop a plan to outmaneuver the TIE pilot and leave him wide open for an epic shot, Akhrirar plugs the TIE with the dorsal laser cannon and it explodes over the skies of Eriadu. At this time, the Imperials in the system are going to be well aware that they've just lost a couple of TIE fighters and space is going to get a lot less friendly soon.

Lin is denied his epic piloting maneuver, but.. on the other hand. There aren't any TIEs in firing range. The hyperspace computer warbles helpfully, indicating that the calculations to jump to lightspeed are complete and over the next two tense minutes, the FTY dashes away from Eriadu, jumping into lightspeed just as additional Imperials begin to show up on the sensors.

The FTY and its beings are safe in hyperspace for the voyage Kwenn Station to drop off your bounty.

He would probably be doing most of this while nodding at Lin as Lin complains to Fuzil what the ship needs to go faster and why he wasn't able to fly it better. Seems to be a normal routine after every encounter.

The route from the Eriadu system to the Kwenn Space Station (orbiting the planet of Kwenn in the, you guessed it, Kwenn system) takes about 14 days on a good route. Unfortunately Fuzil's work programming the navicomp had a couple errors. Nothing super critical, mind, but it seems like the route is a bit more scenic than usual. As a result, you'll arrive in the Kwenn system in about 20 days rather than 14.

The good news is that it gets Fuzil ample opportunity to affect basic repairs on the speeders that you have absconded with. Needless to say, any Noghri showing up with the name Alibabar won’t be able to rent from Rent-a-Wreck again. It’s unclear on the network before you jumped into hyperspace if Lin’s larceny was picked up sufficiently to attach any further Imperial crankiness to him.

After much consultation around parts and whatnot, Fuzil estimates the repairs to the FTY will run around 4,000 credits and probably a solid ten days to repair -- which will add another couple hundred credits to the bill for access to maintenance systems. That’s assuming he can find a replacement Nubian Polarized Coupler at a decent price. It’s not the most modern tech and some unscrupulous types are no doubt likely to see an opportunity for a profit. In addition, restocking the supplies for the crew, docking fees, and refueling are likely to add another 2000 credits, easy, to the bill -- and that’s assuming that someone doesn’t buy something exotic (and no doubt completely wretched) to serve for dinner some time. Figure the 500 credit deposit is lost on the speeder and it seems like the minimum this trip is going to cost is about 6500 credits.

Mala spends some quality time with the unconscious mark and manages to ensure that his Lin-induced bumps were not permanent and unlikely to cause any kind of neurological or emotional damage long term. I mean, unless he has a particular fear of inhaling dirt or getting hit by speeders. But it’s hard to test for that. She and Acaatha move him to the brig shortly after you guys enter lightspeed and Mala ensures he doesn’t starve. He asks for all sorts of things -- from outright freedom (with some relatively lame bribes) to something to read that isn’t terrible (eliminating most of the library from Lin and Akhrirar). Give his circumstances he’s relatively sedate in his interactions with the crew. He does regularly push for "why are you doing this?" and "who hired you?" But, as you don’t have a question to the latter and the former is "it’s a job" those conversations don’t really turn into much of value for either side.

Over the course of the journey, Lin complains bitterly that the ship continues to report numerous malfunctions out on the hull and Fuzil has not gone out -- in hyperspace -- to fix them. Additionally, he’s dismissive of the "highly inefficient" hyperspace route that got programmed into the navicomp. He blames Mala for this, despite the fact Fuzil was the one who did so well before Mala showed up at the controls. The rest of the crew speculates that Lin isn’t a fan of co-pilots and he’s being somewhat irrational.
OOC:
All character restore all strain and wounds to prior maximums (minus that created by the obligation)
Time passes uneventfully, otherwise. You all find the right balance between hanging out with one another, harassing one another and getting some time alone. The med bay is super well organized, this time in reverse alphabetical order. Fuzil’s garden is meticulously tidy and pruned.

Twenty days later, the FTY alerts you all that you have arrived at your destination and with Lin at the controls, it slides back into normal space not far from Kwenn Space Station.

Situated in geosynchronous orbit above the planet Kwenn, the station serves as a gateway between the Empire-controlled Mid Rim and Hutt Space. It’s a massive station with close to have a million beings on it at any time. Its bronze colored body is peppered with dry dock legs, and gleaming sensor spires reminds you of a despayran crab spider. It is, as you know, the most heavily trafficked spot on the Ootmian Pabol hyperspace route -- and has been for thousands of years.

Kwenn has been your base of operations for several months -- one that hasn’t been entirely comfortable. While you are able to move about with relative anonymity, it is nonetheless not in good repair, consistently smells like a dewback’s backside during a Tatooine summer, and hosts all manner of unwelcome individuals -- from fellow operators at the fringe of the law to Imperial Star Destroyers packed with nosy Imperial do-gooders. However, Kwenn is recognized as neutral space -- for whatever that is worth -- making it an opportune place to conduct business and find new leads.

Mala, Fuzil and Lin each find Kwenn a little uncomfortable. It’s a little too creaky and a little to filled with people who are nosy and irreputable to make them feel comfortable, given their backstories. But it still seems safer than operating on some Outer Rim junkyard in thrall to the Hutts.

Lin is guided in to docking bay 327 by spaceport control, and a representative Kwenn holdings promises a prompt visit to address the issues of refueling, resupply and, of course, docking charges.

Mala stretches a bit in her chair in the cockpit as they land

oooh, It'll be so good to get out of this ship and have some elbow room. Mala pulls out her datapad. Ok, so at last count, we needed 300 liters of water, restock the disinfectant and bandages for the medbay, the fresher needs... freshing... we're going to need to replace the air filters on the oxygen scrubbers... Lin needs to replace the pants he keeps "losing"... oh! and I want to get some decent organic munch fungus so we can have that for dinner one night... Oh dear.. Mamba, this is going to be a painful resupply bill. Is our payout from the bounty going to cover all this? That's not even counting the price of fuel and hyperdrive coolant.

Mala looks at her datapad, fussing over the numbers.

Fuzil makes his way out of the engine room. He is holding and looking a data pad in one hand and in the other what seems to be a fruit that he is currently eating. He walks up towards the cockpit without saying anything, just continues to eat. When he makes his way to Lin he will set the data pad on the lap and then just turn around and make his way back to the engine room. He won't even flinch when he hears Lin's verbal tirade about the costs and "WTF IS A Nubian Polarized Coupler??? DO WE EVEN NEED A Nubian Polarized Coupler???"

This piece of Macross fruit is delicious Fuzil thinks and hums to himself as he makes his way down the hall.

"We'll have to see Mala, there is the option of the speeders being up for sale. If people really want to keep them their cost comes out their cut, if we don't have enough to meet ends everyone shares in the debt I guess. Necessities first niceties second. We'll sort things out after the deal goes down I guess... you feeling better? You still look kind of edgy still." Akhrirar admits looking up from his own calculations and searching up other possible work to loosen their noose of debt. He does look a bit concerned since Mala seemed on edge when they were planet side.
May 13, 2016 2:06 pm
"Akhrirar, how soon can we collect? You know how spaceport control is about their fees here..."
OOC:
Speaking of which, how does that all work?
May 13, 2016 2:15 pm
"We're waiting on the contact to send a location of the drop off meet. We have less problems usually with Spartport Control fees and more with the fines though. We haven't even resupplied yet so which we need our payment for so we're waiting on them to send us a message on when it's go time. We've only really done half the heavy lifting." Akhrirar explained.
May 13, 2016 3:17 pm
Thank you, Akhrirar, I'm feeling a lot better since we're off the planet. I didn't mean to be so on edge. I guess the stress of the job got to me. Won't happen again.

Hey, do you need me to help you negotiate a higher price? I did pretty well when I convinced that Weequay on Sullust that we needed an extra four thousand to replace the escape pod. I think I still have the outfit, too.
May 13, 2016 3:36 pm
"Maybe you can get some extra for our NPC replacement..." Fuzil pokes his head out from the engine room to chime in.

I will do what I can, but Akh calls the shots at the meets Mala says, inwardly cringing at the thought of how much cleavage she's going to have to show to get the money for that.
May 13, 2016 4:33 pm
"Oddly enough I don't think you should Mala. We're a company and have a reputation. Could we squeeze out a few more credits? Probably, but I'd rather we get looked at by our work and results than anything flashy with nothing behind it." Akhrirar admits which to some might seem the opposite of what he's always trying to do although stressing they be more then a name, some green paint, and some flashy theatrics does speak to the crew possibly. Plus no one liked the team jacket idea.

Akhrirar has another line of thinking too, if she was too busy trying to negotiate she might not see everything going around them. If she was spooked about something there had to be a reason there also had to be something out there that could cause it. Extra credits didn't do a lot of good when you get caught in an ambush.
May 13, 2016 4:48 pm
Mala nods and goes back to her datapad, inwardly grateful but still concerned about funding.

Do we at least have enough to cover the docking fees right now or do we have to distract the portmaster?
May 13, 2016 6:48 pm
Poking his head out again, "I do have some nice fruits and vegetables rippen, maybe we can use them as compensation."

As he finishes his sentence he smiles at the two of them, but just greeted back with a "are you serious look?"

Fuzil goes back into his engine room "Well if i was dock master i would take this as payment. " he says to him self as he bites a new fruit.

Mala makes a mental note to check the engine room for dangerous levels of toxic fumes that could be harmful to brain cells.
May 14, 2016 3:41 pm
Situated in docking bay 327, the FTY is places into standby mode by Lin as he begins the necessary steps to ensure the ship is powering down correctly and not likely to blow more gaskets. Lin is able to see through the cockpit as the pedestrian entrance to the bay opens, admitting the local dockmaster's representative and a couple of escorts (perhaps more accurately described as Klatooinian thugs). The docking official is an immaculately dressed Rodian in a long burgundy coat with shining brass buttons. Trace amounts of lacy frill adorn the neck and cuffs of his coat. He stops a respectful distance from your ramp and adopts an waiting stance.

In case there is any confusion -- Lin receives a message through the spaceport control that the dockmaster representative would be pleased to meet with the captain of the vessel as soon as reasonably possible to engage station services and establish methods of payment...
May 14, 2016 3:48 pm
Mamba, we don't have enough credits to cover the docking fee right now. What do we do? I'd rather not be in debt to the Hutts

Note that the Mamba account is in addition to what you guys have as personal credits. And yes, I will totally charge an extortionate short-term payday loan kind of interest rate if you go on credit.

OOC:
yes. It's a big station so call it a hard roll to know him. Price negotiation will be daunting with setback or boost.
May 14, 2016 6:45 pm
Akhrirar mutters doing the math mentally before he lets everyone know, "Okay everyone pony up 22, if you don't have it we'll pool the difference and pay it back out from the money from the job."
OOC:
Assuming a 250 credit bill currently. Am I the Captain? I mean I do run my own business... plus I'd like to talk to this guya bout his jacket. *grins*
May 14, 2016 6:47 pm
"I've got 125 credits in my personal account. If it's needed it's there." I fall in step behind Lin, a few paces behind, "If it looks like you've got the negotiation under control, I'll slip out into the station and get a start on assessing the situation."
May 14, 2016 6:56 pm
Looking through his pockets Fuzil finds nothing. Then he remembers. He goes back into the engine room and when he make sure no on is looking he pukls up a plant from a pot and pulls out some credits.

Coming back into the hallway he hands his remaining credits, "Here is my last 5 credits. "

Mala stand up and walks towards the docking ramp, pulling out her small tube on lip gloss and applying it. She takes a deep breath before stepping off the ship, then plasters a big, warm smile on her face and approaches the dockmaster, attempting to get on his good side.

My friend! Mala addresses the dock master. Everyone notices that suddenly she's speaking with a more stereotypical twi'lek accent whereas her usual accent was more Coruscanti. My crew and I are pleased to be aboard your station again! I hope you are having a good day and that we can get through these formalities quickly so we can all get our business done!

The dockmaster looks at Mala, but doesn't even crack a smile.

"Yes, thank you. I too wish to expense with the details quickly. There is much to be done." But this is said in sort of a rote monotone that makes you doubt his sincerity. "A ship this size carries a docking fee of 250 credits per week - paid for in advance." he ticks a mark on a data pad. "Will you need access to our maintenance facilities to address some of that..." he considers the damage to the FTY, "...unfortunate localized discoloration?" The damage is obviously that from the TIE fighters and clearly looks like starship weapon damage, but the dockmaster seems to be keen to avoid unpleasantness. "Do you have any cargo to declare?" he asks hopefully.

He looks up and adds. "Perhaps refueling and resupply? Based on my records it's been nearly nine weeks since you were last at Kwenn station."
May 16, 2016 7:34 pm
Lin swaggers up past Mala, "Hello there! Yes it has been a while. We have no cargo to declare. However, we do have a bit of a liquid cash flow issue. We would be happy to pay you as soon as we have completed a bit of business we have here a the station. I understand that occasional lines of credit may be extended to "repeat customers", which we are. Would you consider allowing us to defer our payment for 12 hours in exchange for a reasonable..."personal contribution" upon the completion of our business?"
OOC:

Meanwhile, as Lin and Mala talk details with the dockmaster, I slip out the emergency exit floor hatch just back from the top of the ramp - a little 'feature' of the ship that made up my mind when we were debating between this hunk of space-worthy junk and another. The hatch drops me below the ship, and the ramp blocks anyone standing at the end of it, or moving towards it, from seeing me. I peek around before pulling my hood up. Then, I start skulking away from the rapidly declining 'negotiation' to begin my inspection of the docking premises, and hopefully slip out of the bay to start scouting out the situation surrounding our delivery.
OOC:
Destiny for the 'stealthy escape hatch' if needed
May 16, 2016 8:25 pm
Fuzil is finishing up the last bit of watering and harvesting rippened veggies & fruits. It wouldn't take much time since it is small, however he knows better to interupt Mala and Lin when they are "talking things out" when money is involved

He slowly does his caretaking waiting until Lin will be ready so go looking for parts.
May 16, 2016 8:26 pm
Akhrirar comes out to see what's taking so long and starts to wonder, the long awkward silence and side glances at Mala and Lin before staring down the Dockmaster, "Dockmaster... nice coat, custom made? What are we looking at for fees?" Akhrirar says aloud smiling a toothy grin.

"Did Lin say something to get himself shot... again." he mutters through clenched teeth in a lower tone to his crewmates.
May 16, 2016 8:46 pm
As Akhrirar shows up and Acaatha makes her escape, covered by the arrival of a rarely-seen Noghri, the dockmaster takes in the crew. He smiles at Lin and Mala, who feel like they've just barely managed to escape some very, very unfortunate consequences. "Of course we can make accommodation for our best customers. We are happy to extend credit at a very reasonable 20% per week interest rate." He pauses as that sinks in, "But I would be happy to cut that rate by 25%, something for which I'm sure our glorious Hutt leaders will personally strike me for. But for friends, a mere 15% per week rate seems a worthwhile risk to my wellbeing."

To Akhrirar he answers, "We have only established the need for the docking fee of 250 credits up front. Perhaps if your cash flow is constrained, we could refuel and restock your fine vessel -- and repair it perhaps -- on credit?" He scratches at a ear stalk idly. "I could perhaps provide a discount to those services if you agreed to fund them through credit today. At a future time, our available inventory may be pressured by demand, and the costs could go up..."
OOC:
Acaatha -- more from me on the station tonight, need my source material.
May 16, 2016 9:05 pm
Akhrirar's eyes widen as if excited his grin gets even toothier, "So Lin did do something. Akhrirar says quietly through clenched teeth.

"Well we'll be paying the 250 credits upfront than as requested. We're still assessing damage, but we have a general idea on refueling and restock supplies of what we really need. We have someone on board who are mechanically inclined so outsourcing his him out of a job would be a bit hurtful. I can understand on the available inventory though as the Dockmaster though you look like a man of style and presence so I'll try and not take up too much of your time. I mean if we figure out we need a hard to find part and your out of stock I don't think we'd take it personally I figure that just means you're being an exceptional at your job and it's just business. But I do like having a friend on the spaceport that can hook me up with a discount... if the Dockmaster is watching out for me well... I probably shouldn't pass up the deal if you still have the parts of course. Let me just check with our engineer." Akhrirar states politely excusing himself and turning around and getting on his headset.

"Totz what are we looking at for repair parts and their cost and what is the hardest component to find for FYT?"
May 17, 2016 3:14 am
The dockmaster looks ready to ask for the 250 credits when Akhrirar turns around to comm Fuzil. Seeing he is dismissed for the moment, the dockmaster turns to one of the thugs with him and mutters quietly to him. After a moment or two the thug nods slowly and deliberately. He turns and saunters away, leaving the dockmaster with the solitary Klatooinian thug on hand.
May 17, 2016 3:17 am
Acaatha moves into the guts of Kwenn station -- and it is a total mess. The corridors are caked in grease and dried up coolant. Here and there are cluttered piles of discard crap of one sort or another -- they seem like broken starship parts and random piles of garbage. A few of them give off a unique, and distasteful odor. The air is warm and stale, and Acaatha imagines she can hear the air scrubbers whining in physical pain as they attempt to manage the air quality in a clearly sub-standard state of repair.
May 17, 2016 12:29 pm
OOC:
I gather we've been here before, is this state of the station what is to be expected? Or has it declined since our last visit?
May 17, 2016 12:45 pm
OOC:
Define 'declined' XD Zing!
May 17, 2016 12:48 pm
OOC:
Well, clearly our arrival marks a 'decline' in the quality of clientele - but, even accounting for the extra Mamba's been trying to work off - the FTY isn't *that* heavy so as to change the 'altitude' of the planet.
May 17, 2016 1:08 pm
Humming to himself, Fuzil is walking around the engine room picking and prune when his ear buzzes.
Remnant says:

"Totz what are we looking at for repair parts and their cost and what is the hardest component to find for FYT?"
Fuzil then makes his way to his desk and accesses his computer.

"ok, ummmmm what we ... Need... Is.... Um... Where is it again... Oh there it is! Just a Nubian Polarized Coupler. The rest of the hull i can repair but this is damaged to much. "
May 17, 2016 1:30 pm
OOC:
For the pooling if you had over 22 credits deduct that much Akhrirar will cover Totz and Lin until we get paid (so I'm down 22+22+17 or 61 right?)
Akhrirar turns back around and pays the deposit, "You wouldn't be able to requisition a Nubian Polarized Coupler would you Sir? We'd like to upgrade the one we currently have." he inquires after paying the fee.
May 17, 2016 4:07 pm
seeing how the price negotiations are going well, Mala goes back into the ship and deposits her last three credits in her walking satchel. Then she makes sure her blaster is on her as she goes to the brig to check on the 'acquisition'.

Mala knocks on the metal door twice You ok in there, sir? We're going to move you soon, please don't resist or make any trouble for my crew. If you go easy, the whole deal goes goes easy. Do you need any water or nutri-bars before we go?
May 17, 2016 5:59 pm
Acaatha continues to move through the bowels of Kwenn station. The state of disrepair is consistent with each of her prior visits to this orbiting cesspool. Unfortunately, control by the Hutts seems to suggest that spending credits or people making the systems work to spec -- or even be cleaned on a regular basis is simply a waste of those credits or people. From prior experience Acaatha knows there's an entire floor of the station set-aside as neutral territory to enable Imperial and Hutt interests to meet without trouble.

The dockmaster considers Akhrirar's request. "Polarized couplers? Not a problem. Nubian? Old enough for this tub? Well, that might be another story indeed. I could certainly look into it and see if I could acquire such a part on your behalf. My finders fee would be quite modest."

Inside the FTY your prisoner looks silently at Mala before suggesting, "You could just let me go." She's heard this refrain before. "I don't know why you have me -- or who wants me, but surely it would be easy to enable me to slip into Imperial hands again. I'm sure folks like you get inspected all the time."
May 17, 2016 6:04 pm
Sure. I could let you go. But then my crew and I wouldn't get paid. And we wouldn't be able to eat. And we'd starve to death in the cold blackness of space. You don't think we deserve to starve to death, do you? that's a horrible way to go. Not to mention the loss of reputation for letting an acquisition get away, jobs dry up... you're asking a lot of me that I'm just not sure I'm able to give..

Mala tries to sound cold and steely like a hardened bounty hunter, but deep inside she always feels a bit for the marks because she knows what it's like to be taken somewhere against her will. But the crew has to eat.
May 17, 2016 6:05 pm
I continue my prowl of the station, working my way towards a pre-established meeting point, or otherwise search for evidence of the whereabouts of our contacts. If I run into anyone, I quietly and indirectly make an inquiry, and if I don't, I follow my senses and rely on my instincts honed from years of doing this kind of thing - scouting out the situation to make sure we aren't on the receiving end of a betrayal, and if we are, to ensure that we're prepared for it.
OOC:
I assume that finding out about the location / status of our contacts / deal is a streetwise check, and so I've included such a roll. Included 3 difficulty dice as well

Akhrirar tosses up his hands with a smile before clasping them in front of him with a clap, "Cool. With the Dockmaster's Seal of Approval I'm sure it'll be just fine if you find it. From what you're saying though I might want to look around also right? I mean you're probably a busy man. I'm sure you have a lot of people wanting to be your friend and asking for favors all-the-time. We have some things to take care of so let me know." Akhrirar lets the Dockmaster know giving him his Commlink information to contact him, "I like that coat man, let me know who your tailor is".

Akhrirar gets the crew together for departure, "Totz can you rig the ship so we'll know if someone opens her up for maintenance and what not?" Akhrirar asks getting his green shades and flicking them open.
May 17, 2016 6:19 pm
Fuzil starts to get bored Well i am done with watering and picking. Hmmm lets look at the speeders for a bit.

Akh, if he was on fire again, the supression system would have kicked on. Give me a heads up when we're ready to move the mark. Mala says, her accent back to Coruscanti.
May 17, 2016 11:47 pm
The mark fails, once more, in his efforts to convince Mala to set him free and shrugs his shoulders and mopes off into a corner. It's clear he's consumed with worry about what his life entails once he is handed off.
OOC:
Acaatha - I think finding known contact information for a job you've completed should be 'average' rather than 'hard' -- so dropping the last die. Unfortunately you still net out at 0 successes and fail at the task.
Acaatha moves around the station with practiced ease. While the FTY doesn't truly have a home port, this is probably about as close as you get. A couple of you aren't too keen on getting closer to the Core Worlds and a couple of you prefer to keep the Hutts at arm's distance -- so this seems like an acceptable tradeoff. Nonetheless, she isn't successful in locating information or the whereabouts of the client at this time. It's possible that the FTY's arrival has not been widely noticed by everyone at the station just yet, so it could just be bad timing.
OOC:
I'm spending your two advantage for a plot twist in your favor. You can sue me later.
Acaatha does notice the furtive stomping of one of the Klatooinian thugs that accompanied the dockmaster nearby however and is struck by a moment of nosy curiosity. He tails quite easily -- since he's being furtive, but not especially stealthy. He walks up to a suspicious...who am I kidding, everyone in this station looks suspicious. He walks up to someone dressed in concealing robes and Acaatha catches the words, "twi'lek" and "possible bounty".

Akhrirar hands over 250 credits to the dockmaster who makes a note in his tablet and then bids the crew goodbye. "Do let us know if you decide you'll have need of our repair facilities and basic supplies. I'll keep an eye out for a Nubian Power Coupler -- perhaps something will come across my desk. As to my coat," he pauses, "my tailor is quite particular about his clientele. Perhaps I shall inquire when I next see him." He and the remaining Klatooinian thug turn around and head back into bowels of the station.

Those of you who return into the FTY hear the unmistakable din of Fuzil at work on something in the cargo bay. Assumptions tend towards the repair or customization of the stolen speeders. It won't be unless one of you wanders in to see what's up that you'll see that the speeders are being torn apart in service to a replacement Power Coupling. This undoubtedly will take some time, and Fuzil is bound to have more than a few nicks and scratches as he digs into the guts of the speeders to pull something... unique together.
OOC:
Fuzil - contraption's duration is 'for the encounter only'. One triumph can make it a permanent device. The other will provide a ongoing -10 to Starship Critical rolls until you receive a Component Hit or Power Fluctuation critical. Sound reasonable?

Fuzil takes one strain (Triumph count as Success & Advantage, so only 1 threat nets out for you)
May 17, 2016 11:51 pm
Akhrirar receives a note through the station communications network from your client. It establishes a meeting time the next station-day several levels up (away from the Imperial deck). The specific location is a maintenance juncture, hidden behind the walls of the station. This isn't your first drop off in similarly out-of-the-way places, so you know to expect lots of pipes, nooks, crannies and plenty of opportunity for an ambush if things don't go smoothly.
May 18, 2016 12:47 am
OOC:
that sounds good to me. Never know when that -10 will come in handy.
May 18, 2016 11:29 am
Hearing those words I get a sinking feeling. I get as close as I can, and try to remain quietly concealed as I do so. Listening, I try to catch as much information about this 'job', and specifically any description of the 'twi'lek' that is offered.
OOC:
Included average perception and average stealth. The boost on the stealth check is from Force of Mind, ignore it if the opposition is immune to force powers.

Also, unless I'm suffering under the weight of strain, I will never mind if you spin advantage into the plot on my behalf.

Akhrirar lets the rest of the crew know what he was told for the drop off and messages Acaatha for when she's free to let her know as well. He lets her know he'll probably swing by the area later tonight to check it out for good sniping spots plus good defensive areas in case there actually is an ambush.
May 18, 2016 2:26 pm
Lin says, "I'll run point on the rendezvous. Mala will bring the mark, Akhrirar and Acaatha should be hidden backup. What's the bounty set at for this mark?"
May 18, 2016 2:54 pm
With a nod Akhrirar states "Bounty is set at *spoiler* for the mark to be brought in alive. I don't mind providing oversight but realize running point means you're also possibly the first one to get shot at if it goes sideways, if there's a third party that pops up, or if it's a double cross. So be on your toes or you might get shot." Akhrirar reminds Lin.
OOC:
Spoiler is the abstract price GM sets.
May 18, 2016 2:54 pm
whatever the bounty is, it's more credits than we have currently. Since we're making the drop tomorrow, I'll get on the holonet and see if I can find another bounty we can get after we're done here. I'm sure we'd all appreciate some more positive cash flow

Mala goes to the galley to sit and search the bounty hunter database.
May 18, 2016 5:38 pm
"Hey man, you know me. More likely to shoot than get shot baby! I just wanted to know the number so I could negotiate better you know?"
May 18, 2016 5:44 pm
"Like with the Dockmaster..." Akhrirar says his finger flying in a circle before pointing the general direction they meet the man.
May 18, 2016 5:46 pm
"Yeah man, what's up with butting in like that? I had that guy wrapped around my finger! And where have you been stashing those credits? Do you realize how much repair the FTY needs, man? Really uncool bro."
May 18, 2016 5:51 pm
The credits came from the rest of the crew turning their pockets inside out so we park this pile of scrap. now we have to negotiate a good bounty so we can afford to refuel and eat for the next few months.
May 18, 2016 8:27 pm
"You should have brought some fruits to the negotiation..." Fuzil chimes in... Hears nothing but silence on his ear piece, he shrugs and gets back to tearing up the 2 speeders to get the necessary parts.
May 18, 2016 8:30 pm
I don't think fruit would have helped.. now, if we ever got a hold of some good Ryloth liquor, now THAT's a negotiation tool. And in a pinch it works well as both an antiseptic and anesthetic if you have to do surgery in a bar.

Acaatha is able to easily, and sneakily, get into range of the conversation that unfolds.

Mala paws casually through the bounty-board. Unfortunately Green Mamba doesn’t have significant standing in the "industry" per se -- so many of the jobs are masked from deeper inquiry through the automated systems. Many of the others are Imperial bounties -- and Mala is loathe to suggest an Imperial job until there’s been some time to figure out the impact of the escape from Eriadu… she has a sense the Empire is going to be underwhelmed at the idea of blowing up a couple TIEs on the way out…

May 20, 2016 3:23 am
I skulk away from the negotiation and get on the comms, "Situation is hot. Not sure this exchange is going to be smooth." is all I say over the comms, not confident in sharing what I know over a weakly secured connection.

When I get back to the ship, I quickly locate Mala and, with urgency, deliver the news, "Bounty on your head is up, and our new 'friend' Reebo's planning to cash in for a portion to keep us put while the hunters in the station figure out how to get you. Seems to be concerns about upsetting the hutt-politics, a Tirello and a Popara that the hunter's are trying to stay 'neutral' between."
May 20, 2016 3:45 am
Mala is visibly nervous and has to put her had between her knees and take several deep breaths before she can respond.

what are we going to do? you're not going to let them take me, are you? I can't go back to that sleemo, I can't...

Some background info which you will all know...
Kwenn Space Station is somewhat in flux these days. The Imperials have and police a couple levels of the station as a way to ostensibly exert "control" over Hutt space in the traditional fiction maintained by both groups. The remainder of the station is under Hutt control and various kajidics (or clans) vie for control of the station in underhanded, Huttese fashion. As folks who have frequented this part of space, you're well aware of the underlying politics that affect the station and your livelihoods.

The primary clan that controls the station is the Desilijic, headed by the notorious Jabba the Hutt. Jabba is not personally involved in Kwenn, of course, as he leads the clan from his opulent palace on Tatooine. Desilijic control 2 out of the five seats on the ruling council of the Hutts and therefore have immense influence on the station. That said, other kajidics are not fans of the Desilijic and do what they can to undermine them and wrest control to this critical entry point into Hutt space. One of those is the Anjiliac clan. Although not an ancient clan (and this has specific meaning in Huttese politics), they are nonetheless feared and brutal (having exterminated another clan entirely -- something basically unheard of). The current leader of the Anjiliac kajidic is well known for divesting his clan of slave trade.

...but not all members of his clan agree. Tirello the Hutt is an influential member of the Anjiliac kajidic and has been attempting to maintain the slave trade. The internal politics of the Anjiliacs has become something of a scandal in the outlaw fringes you inhabit. Sort of like a sports team rivalry -- but with potentially significant consequences on the station or the region. One particular event is noteworthy and known by anyone with rudimentary connections to the cartels.

Shortly before Mala joined the crew something significant happened that exposed some of the secret slave trading being done by Tirello to Popara the Hutt, leader of Anjiliac. Furious at the underhanded scheming, his wrath was significant. Naturally, no Huttese came to harm (though Sleemo and others were basically exiled to dry, cold planets that were warts on the rump of the Anjiliac business empire). The non-Hutt entourage, however, was famously decimated. Hunted down and slain to a man. This dealt a serious blow to Tirello's efforts and in true Hutt fashion, he is rather pissed off about it.

Mala goes to her bunk and retrieves her blaster and other weapons. She's not going to get caught without a fight. After she is done, she walks out into the main area of the ship so her and Acaatha can talk to mamba about this new development

What angers me the most about all this Mala says to Acaaatha is that on top of us having to deal with a rival bounty hunter, the client's probably going to try to skip out on paying us too. Is there any way we can subdue these bounty hunters before the meet tomorrow, throwing the client off his game? if his expected backup has already been dealt with and we let him know he was going to double cross us, we might be able to squeeze more credits out of him.

oh wow, I'm starting to sound and think like a criminal Mala thinks to herself, sparking anger toward the cartel that sold her into slavery in the first place, forcing Mala to have to live and think like this.
May 24, 2016 12:41 pm
"There's a lot of credits in this for them Mala. Tirello, I'm guessing, is the source - probably blames you for the fallout when the slave trade fiasco. We need to plan out steps carefully, and while I only heard a couple of hunters talking and learned that our friend who took our fees is in on it, the whole station could be looking for you." I turn on my comm, "Everyone, get in here. We need to discuss strategy"

As the others arrive, I fill them in on the situation, "The hutts have a bounty on Mala, and she's already been spotted. Wheels are turning around us to keep the FTY in place while the hunters figure out to best way to acquire her. So, any plans?"
May 24, 2016 1:58 pm
Akhirar's palm runs over his chin as he thinks. "Do they know where and when we're going to the drop? Not going may tip them off. It's also unclear if our employer will use the chance to double cross us at the meet if we're ambushed and not pay. I don't think everyone on the station would be in on it... bounties are easier to split the less people are in on job. If we find the bounty hunter and... disable him there won't be a reward split. You can't just turn in a bounty usually by proxy without the bounty hunter that accepted the contract. Doing so either gets you tossed out or you really only get to look at taking a small fraction of the bounty on the target's head without a good reputation. We got a little complaisant I guess with Mala not walking around with a headdress of some sort on to mask her personal features." he states aloud thinking, "Did you get a good look at the bounty hunter or where they were headed?"
May 24, 2016 3:50 pm
"Didn't stick around to see where they were headed. I felt it was important to report back, and didn't want to tip anyone off that we know about the bounty. Given the price, I wouldn't be surprised if more than one group of hunters is independently working on this. A Klatooinian who knows Reebo sold the information on Mala to a rep for Tirello. I also know that Reebo, and the Klantooinian perhaps, want to keep a low profile and need to maintain an appearance of neutrality between the hutts. Maybe we can leverage that to get out of this."
May 24, 2016 4:06 pm
Mala is too worried to engage in the conversation in any meaningful way.

do you think they'll try something tonight? do we need to post a guard?
May 24, 2016 9:01 pm
A couple messages come in over the comms for Akhrirar. Here, in a relaxed atmosphere, he has his default message notification alert on. You are all treated to the dying wail of a krayt dragon. Twice.
May 24, 2016 9:04 pm
I thought we all agreed you would change your comm notification tone!

Mala takes a deep breath

sorry.. sorry. I'm a little on edge right now.
May 25, 2016 12:23 pm
Akhrirar looks at Mala blinking a few times and is about to say something but his eyes soften and he just checks the message notification.
May 25, 2016 2:10 pm
Lin's face is uncharacteristically serious, "You don't need to worry Mala. We won't let anyone take you." Then his usual mischievous grin shines out, "C'mon, lets get our credits!"

Looking over his commlink for the message Akrirar's nostrils flare slightly.

He's still calling me Ack Vat? I never understood that guys obsession with horror movies where they actually kill people in them. And why do I have to look like one of the ‘monster killers’? he thinks to himself.

"Dockmaster wants to meet up so he can set us up with a facility area for repairs with no interest for two weeks so that's a trap. Also I have word of another job out in the sticks of the Outer Rim but we're going to have to hit that one in a hurry if we want it. Considering our welcome here I figure dropping off our mark tomorrow and getting out as quickly as possible would be best. Fix what we really need and find a waypoint along the way to finish up repairs just not here." Akhrirar lets the others in the crew know while setting his commlink to vibrate and putting it back in the holster.

"If we can set up a meeting with Reebo about the facility use close to the drop time to discuss facility usage away from the drop location by a bit that might be great since it's a great option to get us ambushed and not go..." with a sigh the group hears him mutter aloud as he tries to peace out a solution, "Don't have the resources to make it happen..." shaking his head, "No offense Mala but it'd be nice if we can fake your death and imply we need to dump the body where it can't be found, go drop off our mark, get paid and leave while they're on a goose chase looking for the body."

It was a bit morbid but this job rarely stuck to being the good guy and at times ethics were not even in a grey area but tucked away someplace. His hands clasped to together his thumbs ran over the ridge above his eyes.

Looking around he looked at the crew, "Any idea on how to make it look like we killed Mala, in public possibly?"

There were too many loose ends to get it to work he figured but they might be able to figure out something.
May 25, 2016 3:15 pm
"Screw all that, and screw tomorrow. We go to the contact TODAY. Drop off the mark right now, get our creds and bug outta here! On our terms. We tell Dockmaster we'll head over to the repair bay in a few hours to keep him off our backs. Mala, you stick close to me and Akhrirar.

Call him. Now."

I should have our NPC inalled and working by the time you all get back. Fuzil chimes in. In fact by my calculations it should be better then the one we had before. If things go sour ... let me know and i will have the FTY ready for lift off.
May 25, 2016 5:37 pm
"I'm with Lin on this one. We've got knowledge they don't know we have. They're trying to slow us down, so we speed up. Play against, not into, their plot. Also, in any further conversations with Reebo over repairs, throw him off Fuzil. Convince him things are wrong that aren't, and that the things that are wrong are working fine. The last thing we need is them knowing precisely where to fire a shot to disable the ship when we blast out of here."

I look to Akhriar, "No fake deaths, no fancy plans. Keep it simple. All of our other jobs go sideways fast because they're a rickety tower of contingencies and hopes. This isn't a few thousand credits we're fighting for here, it's Mala's life. No games, just clean and direct action." After a brief pause, but before anyone else can chime in, I add, "Call the contact, set up the exchange for an hour from now. If they're pushy, tell them we can renegotiate the price given our need for urgency. Also, secure that other bounty. We should secure work while we can, as I expect future work will soon be difficult to come by."

Others might notice that while normally, Acaatha says very little, this situation has brought out an urgent authority in her.
May 25, 2016 5:44 pm
So.. what am I doing in all of this? they know I'm here, so a disguise isn't going to do much to hide me.
May 25, 2016 6:16 pm
"You're with me and Akhrirar. No matter what, you stick with one of us!" Lin loosens his blasters in their holsters and turns to Akhrirar. "Who is our contact? We need to find his home or office and get to him right away."
May 25, 2016 6:22 pm
Akhrirar ground his teeth. He wanted fly off at Lin since he didn't seem to get it before Acaatha joined in as well...Fuzil still needed time and Mala was beside herself. Renegotiation wasn't really the best of words as much as severely discounted if the employer thought they could get away with paying much less... Acaatha was right though it was Mala's life. Technically it was all their lives. Credit didn't mean that much to the dead.

He rubbed the back of his neck his claws slightly raking his neck as his hand moved to stroke his jaw line his jaw set.

"Bolting for the most part is an option... It makes us look bad and the client can either reduce how much they're willing to pay out or just state the contract to be voided... Fuzil what is the bare minimum amount of time you need to get us up and able to hit hyper space if needed? At this point I'm okay with putting a blaster to the mark's head and have him help you if need be. Also I'm going to need a list of parts that would take the longest to requisition, longest to install like over a week, and possibly controlled items that are rough to find even on the black market. If we're doing this we'll need to make it look like we'll really be here for some time I'll contact the dockmaster once we compile the list so it looks like we're going to be here three weeks or so. In the mean time I'll call my contact about the other job and see what I can do about a quicker drop off." he finally states after a long silent pause.

"You're going to calm down Mala because we'll need you and your hands calm in case things go south and we get injured or so you can get out of the way so you don't come to harm." Akhrirar states looking at her, "You can't be our common sense and voice of reason if you're thinking about things we can't control. Best case scenario I deliver the mark solo and we can give the bounty hunter the slip worst case they have our mentality and don't stop coming once they get a hint of the mark. Mala's life isn't the only thing on the line people... This is a bounty hunter, I run and think of things differently than most, if you throw out morales and ethics there's a chance a bounty hunter doesn't seem to mind putting an explosive charge on the side of someone's ship to breach and getting the mark in the chaos. It's all your lives on the table. That's part of why bounty hunters work the way they do, their reputation."

Akhrirar taps the table a few times and leaves to make contact with his fixer and the current employer.

Mala nods at Akh's words, takes a shuddering breath and collects herself. after a moment, she is much more sure and steady.

You're right, mamba. Of course. I lost it for a second but now I'm under control. It sounds like it might be safest of mamba can arrange to make the drop himself nad the rest of us hole up here. at least we know the ship and it's defenses. and we'll have access to the big guns if we need them. That leaves a problem, though, if they attack while mamba's out. he will have to fight his way back onto the ship.

Mala stands up, pacing a bit. Working on a solution to a problem seems to be keeping her calm and steady.

Right. So we don't give away that we know they're coming for.. well, me. That gives us time to booby trap the docking bay. We lure them in and we ambush them, gas them, catch them unawares. They want me, they'll have to fight for it.

Mala stops and looks at the crew, a cold expression in her eyes

I'm letting you all know. I'd rather die than be captured. If it comes to that, please end it for me.

She softens a bit and looks at Lin

and Lin, thank you. That means a lot.

Lin receives a note from the FTY that some new data has been transmitted to it and placed into the typical quarantine. It appears to come from a known contact.

Akhrirar gets a message from Marko indicating that he'll be by in 30 minutes "with some backup" and will take command of the mark at that time.
May 27, 2016 6:03 pm
Lin will check his message, but on his way he says, "Excellent! Mala, get the Mark all trussed up for transfer, I'm starting preflight sequences now, somebody should be on the turret as fire support in case things go south." Lin triggers his remote activator, the FTY fires up, with many clangings, chuggings, bangings, creaks and other ominous noises.
May 27, 2016 6:05 pm
Would you like to tell me what is going on, first? Mala says in an annoyed voice Why so secretive?
May 27, 2016 6:06 pm
Lin's inbound message is a data package about the job Akhrirar has lined up for you all. It appears there are some items that a client would like... liberated... from an Imperial governer's collection on some backwater planet named Spintir -- located in the Spadja sector.
May 27, 2016 6:08 pm
Mamba, who's picking up the mark? Should we break out the explosives?
May 27, 2016 6:19 pm
Hearing the newS... Fuzil decides the program he was going to work on was not needed anymore and hurries back to finish installing the NPC.
May 27, 2016 6:20 pm
Mala is making her way to the "brig" with some binders and waiting for an answer from mamba. It's his circus, and we're his kowakian monkey-lizards
May 27, 2016 6:25 pm
"We're gettin' off this scuzzy station, that's what!"
May 27, 2016 6:26 pm
Who is picking up the mark? friend or foe?
May 27, 2016 6:27 pm
"Our contact, Marko. Who know who is 'backup' will be though. Best to be ready, eh?"
May 27, 2016 6:29 pm
mumbling to herself in Ryl, Mala trusses up the mark and seat him in the main cargo hold, blaster set on stun trained on him
May 27, 2016 9:07 pm
Akhrirar stands next to Mala unshouldering his rifle, "Just in case backup is someone coming in to get you as well I think it's best you're not the first one they can see... just in case." he advised, some bounty hunters live by a code, fixers have the luxury of being just as slimy as they can get away with.
May 27, 2016 9:11 pm
Mala nods and after mamba is set up watching the mark, goes to the cockpit.

I'm going to keep my head down when they get here. If whoever's coming starts trouble on the ship we're going to have to get rid of them before you take off
May 27, 2016 11:17 pm
I step up beside Mala and place my blaster against the mark's back, "Make small, and get out of sight. We don't know whose coming or who else knows about your bounty. It's enough credits to justify a double-cross. Stay low, and if they ask about you, stay lower."

OOC:
cam we rule that there's a hidden smuggler's compartment near the cokpit that mala can squeeze into?
May 29, 2016 8:43 pm
OOC:
Sure. I'll give the FTY two mods (courtesy of your collective time on it and Fuzil's hand): 1. Secondary Transponder (but only with one alternate ID) and 2. smuggling compartments -- using 2 of your 5 hardpoints.
May 29, 2016 8:52 pm
Mala heads into the smuggling compartment you guys added to the FTY awhile back when you were doing a bit more smuggling than bounty hunting. The rest of you mill about the common areas of the FTY or, in the case of Acaatha, hold down the watch of the hyperdrive engineer you've absconded with. Uncertain about the change in his usual attendant, the mark is quiet, but he does suggest to Acaatha that perhaps the Empire would be quite happy to see him back, "And I'm sure they might figure out how to forgive your transgressions -- perhaps you could make a tidy profit off of it?"

About forty, or forty-five minutes pass before Marko shows up with a mean-looking barabel and a quartet of Aqualish ... well .. thugs seems to be about the only way to describe them. He and his crew step a few paces into the docking bay and stand pat, waiting for you all to decide on your next move.

The wail of a dying Krayt Dragon informs you that Akhrirar has a new message.

I say, without looking at the man, "Never liked human trafficking. Not my style. But when you're about to starve, and you're running out of fuel, and the target is a pawn of the empire, well, those are three good reasons to reevaluate your morals."
May 30, 2016 12:58 am
Changing his notifications to vibrate Akhirar let everyone know backup was here. Going to the docking bay he looked to the mark and got on comes, "Marko is here opening the docking bay." he stated leaving his mic on and opening the bay. Adjuting his rifle he waited for it to drop to see what Marko brought along for backup.
May 30, 2016 7:20 pm
Lin has gotten the ship running through its pre-flight routine, so we will be ready to take off ASAP. He is backing up Akhrirar, both pistols drawn, but aimed down. For once, he keeps his big mouth shut. He isn't smiling.
May 30, 2016 8:35 pm
The passenger ramp to the FTY lowers and Marko and his thugs come forward - they stop at the base of the ramp. He calls up, seeing Akhirar and Lin at the top of the ramp, "Akhrirar -- I've got places I'd rather be than babysitting an early hand off. You got the package?"
May 30, 2016 9:50 pm
"Understood. My apologies about earlier... wasn't very professional." Akhrirar admits before looking to the mark and nodding in Marko's direction. "Start walking." he orders the man.
OOC:
Waiting for the soundtrack to change.
May 31, 2016 12:35 am
The mark, nudged along by Acaatha makes some progress to the exit but winces at the smell outside and says, "Look. Why don't you guys just return me to the Empire, I'm sure they'll be grateful." He looks to Marko and says, "I have some very powerful associates, they could help you get off of this pit."

Marko listens and says, "That's very nice. And I'm sure the second I agreed to release to the Empire in this august company, I'd get myself shot and turned in to my employers. No.. out here I fear them a lot more than I worry about the Empire." He nods to one of his team and the mark is shot with a stun blast, crumpling him to the ground, where he rolls haplessly down the rest of the ramp to land at Marko's feet.

"This way he won't talk no more for awhile."

The sudden action triggers each of your nerves in different ways. Acaatha recognizes the inbound shot for the intended target and clenches her blaster, but does not act. Resisting the temptation to start blasting causes her some mental strain however. Akhrirar doesn't notice what's going on fast enough not to bring up his own blaster in defense -- but quickly reacts and puts out a hand to Lin, restraining him from doing anything more than bringing up his own blaster pistols.

"Nervous about something?" Marko asks, "Why the big hurry?"

One of the thugs begins to ties up and gag the mark.

"Don't know your backup from Beta. Next job seems more time sensitive than this one. Deposit our share for the job in the account. Minus your proposed fee." Akhirar states. Once the mark's body is cleared of the ramp and Marko was done talking he'd close the ramp.
May 31, 2016 2:55 am
Marko puts up a hand, "Eh -- hold on."

One of the Aqualish thugs takes a small container off of the back of another of the thugs and sets it down at the base of the ramp. Marko opens it -- it looks like a standard 10,000 credit container. "As you can see, 10K minus my fee. I'd prefer to avoid transactions with computers involved on this one." As Marko states, 6 of the 10 slots for holding/organizing credits appear full. The other four are empty for all to see.
May 31, 2016 12:57 pm
Looking to Lin with a side glance Akhrirar lowered his weapon slightly before nodding towards Marko adjusting his green tinted shades all the way up his nose and moved slowly down the ramp with his weapon at port arms while looking to the container and Marko with his escort.
OOC:
Since we're dealt with Marko before does he prefer credits to be physical like this most of the time or this outside his norm? We had to pay double our fee but from the posts so far he seems kind of weasely and possibly a double crosser. I'd like to roll to get a read on the group below which is why I'm slowly walking down the ramp. Do you want Discipline, Perception, or Streetwise for the check?
May 31, 2016 1:07 pm
I stay at the top of the ramp, gripping my blaster pistol. My eyes scanning Marko, and his body guards, looking for any indication of unwarranted nerves, unnatural calm or other signs that this is just a smokescreen of an exchange that is leading up to a more eventful finale.
OOC:
Was the 'strain' mentioned in the description actually strain suffered?
Jun 1, 2016 4:12 am
OOC:
Marko generally prefers credits passed physically rather than traceable transactions. He had a falling out with a slicer a few years back and everyone knows he's a little paranoid now as a result.

Skill-wise, Akhrirar -- go with Streetwise. Call it an average check -- but throw in a setback die for creating a more 'conflicted' situation with the handoff due to your rush to be gone.

Acaatha -- no you can ignore the strain as a narrative component versus a stat mechanic at this point.

Mala is laying down in a cramped, uncomfortable smuggling compartment and trying to stay quiet. She has her blaster in her hands set to stun just in case...
Jun 2, 2016 7:38 pm
Ahkrirar makes it to the base of the ramp, his eyes watching Marko and his team carefully. Although he's not confident of his read, it seems like Marko is impatient to be done and move on. He's forward of his goons. As Ahkrirar heads towards the credits, Marko says, "Good enough then? 'til next time. And my base rate just went up 5 percentage points for you guys for awhile. I prefer a more... reliable business partner."

He turns and heads out with the Barabel on his heels. Two of the Aqualish thugs pick up your mark and put him into a fireman's carry and trundle off. The last two turn their backs and move on, leaving Akhrirar with his box of credits and a ship warming up.

About this time Fuzil finishes the installation of his jury-rigged NPC and comes out of the engineering bay rubbing his hands on his coveralls.
Jun 2, 2016 7:47 pm
"Totz I need you to help me scan this container for bugs, trackers, and/or a bomb now. Lin how quickly can be in space?" Ahkrirar states over comms. Backing up the ramp looking around since this is going remarkably well.
Jun 2, 2016 7:53 pm
"Ship's already warming up." Lin holsters his blasters and heads for the cockpit.
Jun 2, 2016 8:49 pm
Finishing his final weld, Fuzil pulls up his welder mask and talks on the com. "Ok I will be there in a bit.He stars climbing out of the whole in the engine rooms floor and then covers it back up. Quickly he moves to the work bench.

Scanner... Scanner... Where is the scanner? he thinks to himself. Then he remembers. He hurries to Lins room where it was laying on his counter. I wish he would put these things away. Fuzil makes various noises while scanning the box and is unable to find anything particularly exciting. Lin makes it back to the cockpit. The FTY is still battered, but ready to fly. Sitting at the controls, the navicomp happily confirms to him with a self-satisfied chirp that hyperspace plot to Splintir is successfully engaged, however the systems panel warbles unhappily. After poking it a few times, Lin is unable to make the fuel gauge read any higher. The FTY needs refueling and your food supplies could do with restocking -- things you had not yet done due to cash flow issues.
Jun 3, 2016 8:06 pm
"We need to refuel and restock before we jump. Lets bounce to the repair port for a brief stopover to refuel and get some groceries. Can't jump in this state." Without waiting for a response, Lin closes the ramp and powers up the ship, exiting the dock and headed to the repair bay.
Jun 3, 2016 8:27 pm
Mala pulls herself out of the compartment. That didn't seem like they were looking for me. that is good
Jun 3, 2016 11:09 pm
With a little bit of crankiness from docking control for the unscheduled change in location that wasn't coordinated through your dockmaster, you are redirected to Docking Bay 1138. This is a much larger bay than your last one -- apparently big enough to accommodate more...or larger ships. Flight control sends you to an outside portion of the bay given your stated intent of simply refueling and being on your way.

Upon landing, a dockmaster marches out from the office towards the FTY...

Jun 4, 2016 12:45 am
I step to the bottom of the ship's ramp and wait for the dockmaster, eyeing them up as they approach. Are they in a sour disposition because of our unscheduled appearance? More importantly, do they look like kind of person that could be 'reasoned' with through credits? Force? I cross my arms over my chest and wait, introducing myself as 'Acaatha' when they are appropriately close.
Jun 4, 2016 12:46 am
"Can we get what we need first here and get the stinky fungus when we're not all stressed out? This time if you're out and about. Disguise please or a veil." Akhrirar shoots back before sighing and getting ready to go out and meet the local Dockmaster here.
Jun 4, 2016 12:49 am

Jun 4, 2016 12:52 am
"Just tell Lin to put his pants back on...or don't look maybe buy him some spray on tan...." Akhrirar teases.
Jun 4, 2016 10:48 pm
This dockmaster is a cantankerous looking Dug -- not be to racist, but Acaatha is pretty sure most Dugs are cantankerous looking. He makes his way over to your ramp imperiously. "250 Credits for Docking rights for a week. 100 credits for access to the maintenance functions -- such as refueling. We'll charge you 65 credits per Imperial Standard Fuel Unit," (which is also colloquially known as an ice-foo), "Will that be cash or back-breaking credit rates?"
Jun 4, 2016 10:59 pm
"Cash. We're just here for a refuel and some supplies." I point over my shoulder with my thumb, assuming that Akhrirar should be, by now, making his way down the ramp, "Cap's got the list of things we're looking for."
Jun 5, 2016 11:33 am
Akhirar comes out to see the dockmaster and pay the fees for refueing, dockingl, maintenance, and supplies. If the Dockmaster didn't had any questions Akhirar would see about assisting Fuzil with what he could.
Jun 5, 2016 2:34 pm
The dockmaster takes the credits and begins to bark on his commpad. Before he leaves he says, "Should have you resupplied and refueled shortly." A couple technicians accompanied by a slow moving gonk droid make their way towards your refueling interlocks with a large hose-looking thing that glows blue and there's an immediate bustle nearby as a handful of Ugnauts begin piling crates onto a cargo sled.

Lin alternates between examining ship damage, complaining about ship damage to anyone who will listen, following Fuzil around peppering him with useless questions and generally being not helpful at all.
Jun 6, 2016 5:00 pm
not seeing much of anything, Mala decided to keep her mind occupied so she pulls out her datapad and starts reading the latest romance novel she downloaded, "Under a Tusken Sun"
Jun 6, 2016 10:12 pm
Use to Lin's... Input ... While making the making repairs to the ship. He tends to knods to everything that is suggested to him while really just focusing at the task at hand. Which is good because more time Lin spends with Fuzil means less time for Lin to be running back to the ship for a quick take off.
Jun 7, 2016 12:47 am
The minutes tick by ever so slowly. Fuzil manages to make a reasonable circuit of the FTY -- but despite his ability to put in a new Power Coupler -- the rest of the damage to the FTY is going to need some real time to get it back into shape -- a good couple weeks, likely. It is most inconvenient that they have an urgent need to get the heck out of here.

After about an hour, the supplies have been loaded and Akhrirar has signed off on receipt. The Ugnauts wander away, a couple of them riding the cargo sled, chattering in their gutteral language. Akhrirar has a sneaking suspicious they're talking trash about him, but alas, his command of Ugnautese is somewhat sparse.

The FTY is about halfway refueled when the dockmaster comes back out and lopes towards Akhrirar. When he arrives he says, "The dockmaster from level 32 is raising a bit of a fuss about a sudden departure. He works with a rival kadijic and I don't particularly have any time for him. However it's only a matter of time before his description his wanted vessel rings a bell for someone on this docking bay who is less particular about their associations."
Jun 7, 2016 12:35 pm
Akhirar smirks a bit since if someone's talking trash he probably isn't doing all that bad. Not the best but it could always be worse. With news from the dockmaster he nods, "Thanks for the heads up. We'll try and get out of here as quickly as possible so we don't cause you any trouble. How long until fueling is complete?" he states looking to the man as he inquires about a timeline.
Jun 7, 2016 8:17 pm
"Another hour or so. That said, you probably have enough fuel to make it halfway across the galaxy now. I can refund you some of your purchase if you'd prefer to disappear sooner rather than later." He winces, "It pains me to hand out credits - but that son of a gundark cheats at cards."
Jun 7, 2016 8:26 pm
Akhrirar nods, "That's actually pretty decent of you and much appreciated. I'll take you up on the refund I think." he states before getting on comes, "Okay people we're leaving in the next 15, wrap and strap it if you want it to stay the way it is."
OOC:
I'm assuming 15 minutes to decouple the fueling line, get a refund since it was cash, and get clearance to go.
Jun 7, 2016 9:14 pm
"I figured you might." He plops a small bag of credits into Akhrirar's hands and starts bellowing orders to the refueling crew to get things shut down. He gives a casual salute, "You have a nice day, sir." And with that he begins to stalk off in the Dug way.

Jun 7, 2016 10:26 pm
"Our local dockmaster let us know the previous one just noticed our ship is gone and is asking around to figure out where we are currently held up probably for supplies, repair, and refuel. Sooner or later people are going to talk since not everyone here has beef with him like our current dockmaster. He refunded the fuel we didn't pump in. Soon as Lin gets clearance we're out. We can finish fueling and repairs at another port in the storm." he explains before getting on the comms system to everyone.

Fuel reserves on the FTY show it at 46% as Lin and Acaatha get the last items for take off sorted out. The control booth for the docking bay bids you a good day and a safe flight, "and a prompt return." One of the Ugnaughts casually waves to you through the cockpit window as the FTY lifts up, rotates casually to point in the proper direction and heads out into the open space of the Kwenn System.

Nothing bothers you as you move out to a safe hyperspace distance and punch the hyperspace drive. You pop into hyperspace for an 8-day journey to Spintir in the Spadja system.

"Job went well enough. We got a little complacent though with walking around thinking people won't notice Mala. In the future we might want to look into something that makes it harder for people to spot her when we touch down in places where Bounty Hunter's frequent. Especially if it's a place where the criminal element is connected to someone looking for her. Here's the payout from the job. We'll refuel and repair along the way to the job.
