"Don't know your backup from Beta. Next job seems more time sensitive than this one. Deposit our share for the job in the account. Minus your proposed fee." Akhirar states. Once the mark's body is cleared of the ramp and Marko was done talking he'd close the ramp.
May 31, 2016 2:55 am
Marko puts up a hand, "Eh -- hold on."

One of the Aqualish thugs takes a small container off of the back of another of the thugs and sets it down at the base of the ramp. Marko opens it -- it looks like a standard 10,000 credit container. "As you can see, 10K minus my fee. I'd prefer to avoid transactions with computers involved on this one." As Marko states, 6 of the 10 slots for holding/organizing credits appear full. The other four are empty for all to see.
May 31, 2016 12:57 pm
Looking to Lin with a side glance Akhrirar lowered his weapon slightly before nodding towards Marko adjusting his green tinted shades all the way up his nose and moved slowly down the ramp with his weapon at port arms while looking to the container and Marko with his escort.
OOC:
Since we're dealt with Marko before does he prefer credits to be physical like this most of the time or this outside his norm? We had to pay double our fee but from the posts so far he seems kind of weasely and possibly a double crosser. I'd like to roll to get a read on the group below which is why I'm slowly walking down the ramp. Do you want Discipline, Perception, or Streetwise for the check?
May 31, 2016 1:07 pm
I stay at the top of the ramp, gripping my blaster pistol. My eyes scanning Marko, and his body guards, looking for any indication of unwarranted nerves, unnatural calm or other signs that this is just a smokescreen of an exchange that is leading up to a more eventful finale.
OOC:
Was the 'strain' mentioned in the description actually strain suffered?
Jun 1, 2016 4:12 am
OOC:
Marko generally prefers credits passed physically rather than traceable transactions. He had a falling out with a slicer a few years back and everyone knows he's a little paranoid now as a result.

Skill-wise, Akhrirar -- go with Streetwise. Call it an average check -- but throw in a setback die for creating a more 'conflicted' situation with the handoff due to your rush to be gone.

Acaatha -- no you can ignore the strain as a narrative component versus a stat mechanic at this point.

Akhrirar's nostrils flare trying to sense anything off the five at the bottom off-the-wall ramp or a third party.

Mala is laying down in a cramped, uncomfortable smuggling compartment and trying to stay quiet. She has her blaster in her hands set to stun just in case...
Jun 2, 2016 7:38 pm
Ahkrirar makes it to the base of the ramp, his eyes watching Marko and his team carefully. Although he's not confident of his read, it seems like Marko is impatient to be done and move on. He's forward of his goons. As Ahkrirar heads towards the credits, Marko says, "Good enough then? 'til next time. And my base rate just went up 5 percentage points for you guys for awhile. I prefer a more... reliable business partner."

He turns and heads out with the Barabel on his heels. Two of the Aqualish thugs pick up your mark and put him into a fireman's carry and trundle off. The last two turn their backs and move on, leaving Akhrirar with his box of credits and a ship warming up.

About this time Fuzil finishes the installation of his jury-rigged NPC and comes out of the engineering bay rubbing his hands on his coveralls.
Jun 2, 2016 7:47 pm
"Totz I need you to help me scan this container for bugs, trackers, and/or a bomb now. Lin how quickly can be in space?" Ahkrirar states over comms. Backing up the ramp looking around since this is going remarkably well.
Jun 2, 2016 7:53 pm
"Ship's already warming up." Lin holsters his blasters and heads for the cockpit.
Jun 2, 2016 8:49 pm
Finishing his final weld, Fuzil pulls up his welder mask and talks on the com. "Ok I will be there in a bit.He stars climbing out of the whole in the engine rooms floor and then covers it back up. Quickly he moves to the work bench.

Scanner... Scanner... Where is the scanner? he thinks to himself. Then he remembers. He hurries to Lins room where it was laying on his counter. I wish he would put these things away. I mean he was just using it to scan and show Mala how much of a stud he was Shaking his head he makes his way to the ramp while laughing remembering Lin's scanning joke

OOC:
I'll take an average Computers roll to check the thing out with the scanner.
Jun 2, 2016 11:53 pm
after the group leaves, Mala sticks her head out of the compartment

it also might be a good idea to check the outside of the ship for tracking devices

Making his way down the ramp Fuzil turns on the scanner then waves it around the box

Fuzil makes various noises while scanning the box and is unable to find anything particularly exciting. Lin makes it back to the cockpit. The FTY is still battered, but ready to fly. Sitting at the controls, the navicomp happily confirms to him with a self-satisfied chirp that hyperspace plot to Splintir is successfully engaged, however the systems panel warbles unhappily. After poking it a few times, Lin is unable to make the fuel gauge read any higher. The FTY needs refueling and your food supplies could do with restocking -- things you had not yet done due to cash flow issues.
Jun 3, 2016 8:06 pm
"We need to refuel and restock before we jump. Lets bounce to the repair port for a brief stopover to refuel and get some groceries. Can't jump in this state." Without waiting for a response, Lin closes the ramp and powers up the ship, exiting the dock and headed to the repair bay.
Jun 3, 2016 8:27 pm
Mala pulls herself out of the compartment. That didn't seem like they were looking for me. that is good
Jun 3, 2016 11:09 pm
With a little bit of crankiness from docking control for the unscheduled change in location that wasn't coordinated through your dockmaster, you are redirected to Docking Bay 1138. This is a much larger bay than your last one -- apparently big enough to accommodate more...or larger ships. Flight control sends you to an outside portion of the bay given your stated intent of simply refueling and being on your way.

Upon landing, a dockmaster marches out from the office towards the FTY...

Mala makes sure to stay out of sight after handing over the acquisitions list to Mamba

And don't forget to get munch fungus. as fresh as you can get it
Jun 4, 2016 12:45 am
I step to the bottom of the ship's ramp and wait for the dockmaster, eyeing them up as they approach. Are they in a sour disposition because of our unscheduled appearance? More importantly, do they look like kind of person that could be 'reasoned' with through credits? Force? I cross my arms over my chest and wait, introducing myself as 'Acaatha' when they are appropriately close.
