Nekurr, Nera, and Hildar follow Peppin Galbernost over to Applesauce's pen. The razorwing shudders and flaps in its cage, scattering drops of condensation from its fur. It's apparently still emboldened by Fortuna's blessing. "Here we go, Applesauce," Peppin tells the beast in a soft voice. "Remember to use your nose..."
The cages are all lined up, side by side, with hinged tops tied to a long pole. The shopkeeper announces that the race is on, and Rupert Wayland yanks on the pole, pulling open each hinged lid as he does so. The razorwings, four in all, clamber out of their cages and jump into the air. Each of them spreads its wings wide and catches a gust of air. They're aloft! The race is on.

"Ah, dang!" Peppin says, stomping his feet. "That's Della Bidge's razorwing, Gritty. I knew it was going to be an effigy again!" The boy's disappointment is short-lived, though, as Gritty continues to circle overhead. "What's he doing? He won!" the boy says, wide-eyed.
The creature remains in the sky. Applesauce and one other razorwing both seem to notice the unusual turn of events. Both of them streak toward Gritty, leading to an aerial scrum for control over the effigy. As the three razorwings fight in the air, Peppin is nearly in tears. "No! That's a holy symbol! What are they doing!" Suddenly, the effigy is falling toward the earth, headed directly for the mud slop of the hog's pen...
"Oi just was wonderin' wot ya can tell me about past winners of da pageant? Who are dey? Wot do dey do now? Even if ya could direct me to past winners present 'ere today?"
Once Bruv can no longer hear the foot steps of Melchic he drops the wall.
This action represents the ability of a spellcaster to animate objects or create items (or even allies) out of thin air and the aether.
But then the rest of the spell pretty much forgets about animating things. I'm thinking if you're ok with using it that way then it's be a Hard check (1 x difficulty die base plus 2 for Range increases to Medium) unless it needs to be higher due to being a bit further distance? Also any setbacks for size of the thing and the speed it's moving at? As it's an effigy of a vulture the plan is to get it to fly over to Hildar and land on his arm....if the spell works
By the way, having the holy symbol just fly softly into the ground would be pretty much a divine sign, so Hildar may have to deal with that!

It's at Medium range in the air. Since this isn't an attack spell, the velocity doesn't matter as much. Hildar could conceivably wait a moment to let it get to Short range before he shoots off the spell. But in that case, Nekurr's spell may take effect first (as IC, you wouldn't have time to discuss, just react.) You get to add the Summon Ally effect for free from your wand, right? So that's covered.
As for Nekurr trying to feather-fall the thing: That sounds like an Augment. We can call it Hard (PPP) with a setback for the surprise of the situation. If Nekurr waits until the effigy is closer to the ground, it becomes Average (PP) with a setback for the pandemonium.
So, maybe Hildar tries first, and if he fails Nekurr gets a go? Once y'all have made rolls, I can advance the storylines.
Woohoo, so net 1 x Advantage, Success and Triumph. Could I use the Triumph to get a really positive response to this from the villagers, and the advantage to throw a boost out for someone who may get some benefit to having a bit of a distraction at the moment
Wound Threshold: 13, Current: 0

Rolls
Conjure on the effigy

Jacey waits until the plant barrier is dropped before speaking. "Melchic's just mad because he thinks I'm going to win. My mom won the pageant about twenty years ago, and a lot of times, parents and children both end up taking the crown. Melchic's not a bad guy; he's just on edge since his folks died. He could use the purse the winner gets. It's enough to get passage to Tamalir, even Greyhaven or Nerekhall, enough to get you on your feed to start someplace new..."
Suddenly a commotion from the north end of the field draws Jacey's attention. Bruv sees a group of razorwings scuffling in the sky, and then a large buzzard-shaped doll falling to the ground....
