Character building

The shield is listed as armor in the PHB so I thought the only weapon being wielded is the longsword. And shield (armor) in the other hand. So shouldn’t that work? If not, it’s okay. I can change it.

Are you guys talking about the dueling fighting style? The rule reads:
So a shield should be fine. Jeremy Crawford the head rules designer even clarified this via twitter.

I am fine if you want to rule otherwise, DM, but then I'd like to switch my fighting style.

You were correct I was missing 2. Fixed, added my spell slots to my feat section as there isn't a spot on the sheet.

Yep. Shield is fine. It isn't considered armor, but that doesn't matter. The point was it is a non-weapon so it is allowed.

madbookishcrow Do hope soon you can get your non-magic gear and your magic item done on your character.

I'm up for suggestions on a magic item, otherwise I will probably just forgo one. I don't know what else I would want that fits his character so I don't want to hold up the game for gear.

Also, I apperciate you updating the descriptions on my character sheet. But I'm confused as to why you changed me from a dream druid to a circle druid? I had the Dream Druid abilties listed. Was that no longer allowed?

I had originally set it to circle of moon as there was no indication of a druidical subclass and you are a moon elf. It is now set to Circle of Dreams.

I do not wish to make assumptions on your gear. Please do up your gear. If your challenged for a magic item than a +1 weapon of sort will do.

You also need to list your (4) 1st Level prepared spells.

You may choose any Medium armor per Cleric armor proficiency. Do note that with at STR of 8... Encumbrance may become a problem as that is 40# of encumbrance not including anything else.

I'm highly looking to using the Variant Encumbrance on page 176pg PHB. We haven't ever gotten to dealing with gear and such much yet, but that is a heads up. Also when you get done getting your gear. Everyone should have a dear 150gp left in their pockets when they arrive at the start of the adventure.

Please do add in your characters your lifestyle. I will assume that you have your charges paid up to one week done for life style. Save time dealing with cost of lodging and drinks, food, eta.

Being all level 5 adventurers and all, I would expect most all are Modest or Comfortable. Otherwise traveling livestyles.

I've selected comfortable lifestyle and noted the gold.

I missed a couple details. I’ll finish that up on dndbeyond and then transfer it over tonight.
