Okay, so for reference, I’m going to be rolling initiative for people, and I’ll post who can act following each enemy post. How long do you guys want to post your round in combat? I’m new to this so we’ll figure it out as we go. :)

Hey folks, we haven't talked about splitting treasure yet. I would like to propose we split everything evenly and keep a public record of things. The public record is important so that items don't get forgotten in our individual character sheets if one of us takes a vacation or something and misses a few weeks of the game. Also for magic items I'd like to make sure it is not a finders keepers situation, and that we all work toward sharing magic items roughly equally across all characters.

I am very much on board with that. That's how I like to do things.

Would it be faster in situations like this if I just rolled for everyone at once? Seems like it could speed things up.

Personally I don’t mind, would it be all prompted skill checks or just the ones you ask of the whole party?

It just seems silly to have a post that says "History check" and then wait a day for everyone to post something with their roll. If there's one for the whole party, that in particular seems like a good way to speed things up.

Honestly just trying to make the most of the platform, so whatever everybody else wants is fine by me. :)

I definitely like the idea of you rolling skill checks for PCs, if it isn't too much bother. I usually have character summaries in a text file which makes it pretty quick to consult and then load a post with the appropriate rolls.

Agreed. It lets you guys focus on RP and moving the story forward once you get to posting. A whole lot less waiting for rolls.

Yeah, I've generally found when I'm GMing PBF games that it's easier in those situations just to make whatever rolls you'd normally ask people to make themselves, and tell them the results directly instead. Stuff like initiative, searching, perception, knowledge checks, etc. Some people really prefer to make their own rolls, but I'm happy for you to roll for me whenever you need to.

I've read/heard that there are some major flaws in Descent into Avernus, but there are also easy-ish fixes. One solution is proposed by the amazing Sly Flourish in this article:

I haven't read much about it since I'm a player but I do happen to own the DMs Guild adventure he is refers to in the article, The Fall of Elturel. It was one of the covid-19 freebies. It might still be free, but if not I can send it your way. There are other articles out there "fixing" the adventure but again I didn't look it over much. Naat will be a good person to talk to though, since he is running it.

I think I got that one in one of the BLM bundles they currently have, you can get a lot of good stuff there for 10 dollars.
