In the end, you manage to ascertain that he was enthralled by the vampires. He was a traveler, on his way north to Prague. He stopped at the inn and ever since, he had been here, serving the women. He doesn't know why, even now, only saying he never thought not to do so. Sometimes they would take him to their bedroom, and afterward, while he would remember little of what occurred, he'd be sick for days, dizzy and nauseous.

"Well looks like you've been suffering from repeated loss of blood probably. Guess you should show us to said room..." Ataan states with a nod not putting his weapons away.

Yes Cescu, you were surly under the vampires' spell. Gerald felt sorry for the barkeep.

Cescu leads you up to the room. He hesitates as you draw near but manages to overcome his reluctance and keep going. The door is partially open.

Inside, the large room contains a single bed. Boards and blankets have been nailed over the window. A heavy bar attached to severely lock the door from within.

In the corner, a pile of bags and clothes, assorted mismatched styles, and boots and shoes. Some are men, others for women, a few items sized for children. All used, some stained.

A shelf contains their prizes, bottles of perfume, books and journals, rings, necklaces, and brooches, an elegant quill and ink set. And carefully arranged coin purses sitting in a row.

"Well this is the help's retirement plan? Guess we should look for a diary or journal of accounts..."

Emma stops by the coin purses and picks them up, "Think we'll need these more than the dearly departed."

In total, you'll find £20, 15 in coin and 5 in jewelry you should be able to easily sell.

The ledger that you find had not been kept up in 2 months. You can put together that the original owners were likely killed two months ago and the vampires have been preying on travelers ever since.

Down stairs, the door bursts open and a chill wind washes over you. "Noooo! Who dares?"

Those boots look like they would fit me and the ones I have on now are pretty worn. Gerald continues picking through the piles looking for clues or an upgrade of clothing for himself.

Uhoh, someone just came in and by the sounds of things, they aren't happy. Probably a vampire I reckon. Gerald rips off a split board with a sharp point from the window and plans to use it as a stake. He then rushes downstairs. He can go back for the boots later.

"Or they know the former real owners." Ataan quibs before pulling his weapons and following.

Gavrel had been in the area for some time, trying to discern the cause of some strange disappearances. His search left him following a carriage to a nearby inn where a nobleman stepped out and burst through the front door.

The man gave him a strange and uncomfortable feeling, but he suspected this man may be the next victim and was thus bound to follow. Gabriel straightened his black coat and hat, reverently touched the necklace on his neck to remind himself of his courage, and strode after the man.

Gavrel isn't certain what bothers him about the man, but there is something off about him.

Emma pockets the coins and trinkets, then draws her weapons and follows her new acquaintances downstairs.

Gavrel moves up and peeks through the door, slightly nervous but determined.

Coming downstairs, you find this well dressed nobleman. He is staring at the dead vampire, and then spots the burning corpses in the fireplace. He howls with rage. As you descend his eyes blaze in hatred. Claws grow from his hands. Another vampire.

"Thou did this to mine brides! Thouest will pay with thine lives!"Gerard is up first.

"Would you believe it was a masked man who complained of bad service did it? Also don't worry they would not have been faithful it seems from what they were doing right before they died?" Ataan offers up.

Well hold on just one minute! We were attacked by your lovely brides. Dracula is it? I've heard about you. I have this wooden stake in my hand as you can see and you are outnumbered.

The nobleman vampire, fangs wide, points at Gerard. "Defend me, minion. Kill your friends."

The rest of you can act before Gerard likely turns on you.
