[OOC] Character Creation

Oh, didn't find anything on that in what little information I could uncover. But considering the business my character would be in I don't object to that really.

As for benefit, maybe something like this?

Tikbalang
Advantages:
All: +2 dice for Con Tests.
Magician: +2 dice for spells, preparations, and spell rituals of the Manipulation category.
Adept: 1 free level of Improved Ability for a skill in the Acting or Influence skill group.
DISADVANTAGES
You must succeed in a Charisma + Willpower (3) Test to avoid leading others astray when the opportunity presents itself.

Interesting nice tweak -- however I would think you would want the following:

Magician: +2 dice for spells, preparations, and spell rituals of the Illusion category

As that facilitates the trickster leading individuals astray or playing pranks in the sense that you can make them get lost by subtle changes in their environment thus making them think they are going to the left when they are actually going to the right kind of thing or some other simple prank.

Also could you not make the Disadvantage a more generic

You must succeed in a Charisma + Willpower (3) Test to avoid playing a prank on others when the opportunity presents itself.

With of course the favorite prank being leading folks astray as in cause them to get lost or constantly returning back to the same spot no matter what direction they choose to go. I only say that because after reading a bit more on the spirit in question they did not seem overly malicious.

So each faction has a magician that likes pranks/playing tricks/playing on misfortune That's going to be very interesting. (Don't think I ever stated here but Lorelei also has the Raven)

@DeJoker ...apart from the rape and eating people part? :)

The reason I went for manipulation is because it contains the influencing and mind control stuff that would seem more fitting in their theme to me, as well as levitate (a Tikbalang will apparently fly off if you jump on it to steal it's 3 golden hairs from its mane).

Yeah but we follow slightly different Raven Spirits as I took the alternate one who is more into acquiring stuff than playing pranks. I do not mind pranks but that did not fit this character concept ... that and I think I prefer the coyote approach to pranking those that deserved to be pranked not just pranking anyone and everyone. You know the bad folk, and sometimes coyotes pranks can be a form of deserved justice kind of thing.

So we at least of 2 prankster oriented spirit mentors ironically in the organizations my prankster would be more likely to focus on had I played one ;)

Ah fair, wasn't aware of the alternate, but yeah this character does like her tricks. Though may have to often make rolls to resist

Okay Khulod I suppose that works -- I mean it is your concept -- I was just wondering so thanks for sharing.

Yeah I thought those two rather dark items seemed to be a bit out of place -- when reading all the other stuff -- aka those just did not seem to gel with the rest of the image that was being painted.

Still on the Illusion vs Manipulation -- I will respectfully agree to disagree on that -- if you are interested I can expound upon it otherwise enjoy the game

I'm ok with the mentor spirit, if you want to pursue your disadvantage I might use a different system:

Another player (in your team, or anyone who'd volunteer) plays the 'Tikbalang' role, whispering suggestions in your mind from time to time.

The demon must not suggest things that would cause you harm, but it would suggest things that would potentially put others even your allies at risk.

GM decides when you need to take the roll to heed the Tikbalang's suggestion and if you fail you must do the suggestion to the best of your ability.

This way you can have mental conversations with the Tikbalang.

(Reason: Well if I have to play the Tikbalang role, I'd be biased as I already know stuff that your character doesn't know about and it might affect the game.)

This ok?

This goes with other players who have mentor spirits that tries to meddle with their mentee's affairs.

Well mine is pretty straight forward -- if it looks like it might be useful and it does not belong to someone I care about or does not belong to anyone -- well then its mine or at least I attempt to make it mine -- not klepto just a pack-rat or magpie -- ooo a shiny ;)

1. I'm not against getting a bound spirit but I would limit it to either Earth or Beast spirit.

2. I'm not good when it comes to it but why not list your choices so we can discuss it more.

3. You have Indonesian(N) and Mandarin for language... get points in English as well. Jasper group starts at the Northern part of Metro Manila: Lodestar Territory, so English is a good language to have.

Syndicate, You can specify a territory: (North, South, West, East) and you'll have bonus on checks RE:Syndicates other than Jasper in that territory. You can't get +2 dice pool on Jasper's syndicate, I'm limiting knowledge of the three factions.
