Well, actually, it might make sense, and be more feasible, to animate the smaller ship, and have it slam attack the bigger ship from above.

I was about to suggest that.

Since the wand is at the back of the ship, we can aim the lesser ship at the from section.

OOC:
Oh, and perhaps our first hit should be designed to beach the larger ship, so it can't drop under water.

As I said in our text, I’ll make it public here, I will allow the spell to work on as large an object as the smaller sky ship. I still cannot believe I’m allowing this, lol. Ok it‘a cool, that’s why.

you are actually going to force me to brush off my ship mechanics aren’t you?

"I have a devilish idea! Let us get a scroll of Animate Objects. Bluebard can use it to take control of the smaller ship, and have it bash the larger ship ashore, and then pound upon it a few times. Specifically at the bow end. I'm sure that will contribute a good bit of distraction to whomever survives the attack. Hahahahaahaaa!" I end with a good belly laugh, tickled at my own neurotic idea.
OOC:
I figured we might want to actually discuss this option as our characters, lol

You tipped your hat with the "take the ship under water to put out the fire" comment from Masthead. Also, those ballistas will be tough to aim once the ship has tipped on it's side.... hahahahahaha

OOC:
Ummm... I was wanting to burn the fishmen that were on the deck, attacking me. I don't remember attempting to burn the ship underwater... but then again... I do a lot of crazy crap.

nevermind. I'm an idiot. I read that wrong.

So, do we need to do a roll call and see who all is ready to start a battle?!

Captain Kitsune on duty!

So, what was it Ante was saying about her talisman summoning gods? Or something like that. I think mine has something to do with gods, and Kit has proclaimed to be a god reborn. Since we are stealing from a god's ship, are his henchmen the big issue? And what can do with our god connection to help or distract?

Obviously Storm is here, eager to see a ship smash another ship.

The adventurers continue to talk while night falls. The moon is out and it is a clear sky. Two canoes flirt on the ends of their tethers and snuggle up with small crashes to the hull of the ship. Starlight and moonlight gives some means of seeing to Elf and non-Elf.

Who’s to lead and narrate?
OOC:
I have the initiative order prepared.

I have an idea
Aug 23, 2020 12:43 am
"My good Bluebard, may I make a suggestion for the upcoming battle? I believe it is you who will be initiating the smashing of the ships, yes? Perhaps you should take shelter, hiding behind some sort of cover, if you can, which doing the initial bouts of smashing. Wouldn't want your concentration on the spell to be at risk of disruption by enemy attack. At least until we've smashed it ashore and given it at least one good thwomping, yes?"
OOC:
And by we, I mean you.

So, and Animate Objects spell can animate up to 10 objects. I went looking for the pic of the ship and don't see, it, but I don't recall it having more than 10 ballasts, which I think were loaded with fishmen pods. What if we get somewhat close in the canoe, animate the ballistas and gunwales on the two ships and have them fire upon each other. The two ships attacking each other should cause damage, confusion, kill a LOT of fishmen, and draw Big Ugly into the fray. Kit, A and I slip over the stern to the door, she with her sea language knowledge gets us in, we use our talismen/pendants as best we can figure out and get the hell out of there. The halfling has a rescue canoe near by in case we have to jump.

"No matter what you do with your talismen and other nic-nacs, I still think having Maggie attack the bow of the ship burning the fishmen, instead of the ship will give a good distraction for your sneakery."
