The office is thrown about. This was once used as a bedroom too. There is a desk and overturned chair and bookcase. There is another door on the opposite side.

At this point Jacob is considering jumping the alley. The urchin girl is still considering jumping off the third floor ledge.

The only thing that stands out in the room is a giant spider that drops from its web from the ceiling.

The door on the outside of the circle opens to a spiral stair case. Teth hears steps coming from above and twitches in Kitsune’s ear. The lower flight is dark, but her vision sees the shapes of the steps.

The girl leaps out from the third floor ledge down to the second. She lands with great grace and bounds into a hug with the shadows with almost no noise. Looking around she opens another window and slips inside.

Making their way to the edge of the round hole in the floor in the middle of the ground floor lobby, Duke and Stormslayer see the spectacle below. A giant spider shape constructed out of swords and shields and the rotting corpses of contestants looms over a sand pit with a canals of steaming water passing through it. Geysers of Fire spurt occasionally from the sand. The battle is finishing as ogres fish out dead merfolk and throw them onto the huge edifice of an eight legged sculpture.

The talkative one tells them, "You are strangers. You shan’t get any status here. This is the fight of the queen’s most loyal guards. Only the victorious will satisfy Lolith’s praise. The losers have sacrificed themselves in feeding Her. "
