Should we retreat? We are getting beat up pretty good. I mean how fast can a bunch of weapons be if we run?

"Sounds better than ending up dead." Ataan admits moving aways and urging his furry companion along as well as they take a defensive stance after retreating.
Sep 15, 2020 10:39 pm
"Aye, retreating seems the best option. The question is where to? Back outside to our camp for now?". Emma heads over to Gavrel to assist him in retreating.

Fleeing from the battle the swords only chase you to the hallway, not leaving the great room.

Combat is over.

Badly wounded, what do you do?
Sep 15, 2020 11:54 pm
Gavrel coughs and spits blood onto the floor, "Ah, if only I were a younger man, then maybe I wouldn't be such a liability to you," he says with as much cheer as he can, but it's clear he's in significant pain.

Emma will take a look at Gavrel's wounds and see if she can somehow patch him up.

Rolls

Healing - (1d4, RA)

(3) = 3

Wild die - (1d6)

(6) = 6

OOC:
You should explode that wild die. Gavrel's wound conditions will be applied as a negative to your roll, but I'll account for that after.

"A success removes one wound, and a raise removes two. Wounds must be treated within one hour of being received. Once an attempt to treat an injury has failed, it may not be attempted again—it must heal naturally."

OOC:
Apologies, forgot to check 'reroll aces'

Rolls

Healing - Wild die - (1d6, RA)

(5) = 5

Sep 16, 2020 12:43 pm
With a Success and a Raise, Emma patches up Gavrel, removing two wounds.
Sep 18, 2020 4:17 am
"There you go Gavrel, you should be alright for the time being." Emma puts away her first aid tools, and takes out her flask, handing it to Gavrel. "Drink up padre, Dr's orders."
Sep 18, 2020 4:20 am
"Thank you, Emma," Gavrel says, breathing more easily and taking the flask, "Maybe just this once..." he chuckles and takes a swig and grimaces as the harsh liquid pours down his throat.
Sep 18, 2020 12:17 pm
I wouldn't mind a swig of that myself, Emma, if you wouldn't mind, and you can spare some. That was some pretty fierce weapons. They put up a good fight and I'm glad they didn't keep after us. I have to admit I am pretty tuckered out.
Sep 18, 2020 12:41 pm
Ataan gets to self assessing himself, "After a bit we should come up with a plan to proceed..." he states bandaging himself before going to take a look at his dog.

Rolls

Healing w/Wound Penalty + Healer Edge - (1d6, RA)

(1) = 1

Wild - (1d6, RA)

(5) = 5

Pouchie Healing - (1d6+2, RA)

(4) + 2 = 6

Wild - (1d6, RA)

(1) = 1

Sep 18, 2020 1:26 pm
Ataan patches up 1 Wound from himself then the same from his dog.
Sep 18, 2020 1:43 pm
Emma hands the flask to Gerald. "Well, we either go back to town and pick up some explosives or try to rush past them and up the stairs I saw in the back of the great hall. Assuming the swords are unable to travel beyond it's boundaries, of course. Both sound like questionable options. Anyone know anything about what kind of magic that is, in particular, weaknesses?"

You could blast the weapons from the wall from a safe distance, rendering them unusable.

But as to arcane solutions,

Naatkinson sent a note to Qralloq
"I may have a solution to bypass the swords... Maybe. If they are not merely magical, but wielded by spirits, I can ward them away from us. But if they aren't, then we're back into the same fight we just fled."
Sep 19, 2020 4:58 am
"Hmm, both good ideas. If they're bound to that room, we could just take careful aim and destroy them with the pistols. Make sure they don't bother us again."

OOC:
Any plans you want to commit to, or questions about the situation for me?
Sep 22, 2020 11:53 pm
"Hmm, perhaps best to save our ammunition for any beasties further in. We can try Gavrel's method, and worst cast, try blasting them again. Um, anyone have a spare pistol or two?" Emma say the last bit looking a bit sheepish.
