The ghost screams, but it makes no noise. The silent scream is horrifying, in a way, filling your mind with images of her chained to the bed and going mad.

You'll need to make an opposed Guts roll. The TN is her roll, 6.

The fury and the supernatural horror of her existence chills you to your core.

Emma is Panicked: The hero is Panicked. She must immediately flee at her full Pace and receives a free run action. Each round thereafter, the hero may make a Spirit roll as a free action. With success, she comes to her senses. On a failure, she must keep running away.

Gerald is Shaken.

Ataan gets The Mark of Fear: The hero is Shaken and also suffers a minor cosmetic physical alteration—a white streak forms in the hero’s hair, his eyes twitch constantly, or some such oddity. This reduces his Charisma by 1.

"I'm sorry, he ate your nightmares and killed you there was nothing I could do I was a child!" Ataan yells at the ghost pull his dagger and slashing out at it. "Move on or you'll just exist in the despair and pain!" he screeches flailing around at the ghost. His companion not really sure what's going on bites and paws.

As the attacks make short work of the last chain, the ghost sighs in palpable relief, her anguish and torment lifted as if a burden sighing her down. She fades from sight like steam in the wind.

Keeps running, heading towards the staircase leading downstairs. She slows down, remembering the enchanted weapons will be waiting for her. She stops, takes a few slow, deep breaths and regains her composure. Heads back to the room w. the ghost and her companions, taking a long sip from her flask along the way.

With the destruction of the ghost, the castle seems more at ease. An oppressive weight lifts like the sun coming from behind the clouds. You haven't explored parts of the main floor but you're now convinced that the terrors attributed to the haunted castle will cease.

Did you want to explore more or leave and tend your remaining wounds?
