I'll be backpacking tomorrow and Saturday, if my turn comes just assume Eltrezar is keeping pace with Bors (given the warrior's current lack of a torch).

There's still a lot of snow out where I want to be going. Ended up at a frozen lake last weekend, and not on a particularly difficult hike.

Looks like Eltrezar came back from his hike just in time! Give me a couple hours to get home and eat, and throw together a post.

Happy father's day to those of you who are thusly entitled to such praise.

You didn't get the memo? The stairs were a mimic. Total party wipe. Game over.

Yep. I was inadvertently pulled afk for the last two days to help a buddy demolish a building and didn't have a chance to post.

Also, I received a pm either yesterday or the day before, but didn't have a chance to respond. There is someone interested in joining the game. I sent them a PM back basically saying that the party was about to lose their Thief, and that they would probably not have a problem with someone joining and adding another PC to the group. And also that this is a pretty unforgiving campaign for squishy 1st Levels.

So if they're still interested and apply to join I'll keep you all posted.

Sounds good. Though they may be left waiting a while if we have to reach town to meet them.

On account of the fact that none of us will ever see Hommlet again!

Could all be. Might have to make them the new leader of the new party of adventurers investigating how all the other adventurers died a horrible death and never returned to Hommlet.

Anyway, we officially have a new player, if anyone wants to say hello to @Demagor.

I may have made an error in judgement. The map for the lower level seems to show the staircase being wider, but now I see that the top of the stairs (ground floor) is only five feet wide. I think Mal might have better tactical plans, but out of character I'm thinking we may have filled the rat room with warriors. But we can always do that later.

@cowleyc: I just noticed that today as well. For some reason the upstairs map only shows the stairwell being 5' wide, whereas the downstairs map shows it being 10' wide. I don't know why that is, but in order to keep things more or less canon, I'm going to rule that the stairwell is in fact 10' wide, but the doorway (located at Q11) is only 5' wide. So basically once yu pass through the doorway, you can stand two abreast on the stairs. It's the only way to make any sense of it.

@Demagor: I've gone ahead and made a character creation thread for you located right here. Feel free to ask anything you need help or clarification with.

Note that you may roll your character's six ability scores three times and pick whichever of the three pools you wish. The other two unused pools will be set aside in case a new character needs to be made at a later point. You do not need to roll your character's starting HP as each PC starts with Max HP at Level 1 (later level ups will be rolled per usual). Starting gold is 3d6 x10.

I realized this weekend that I failed to include Mal's potions and vials of holy water in her Encumbrance, which I should have. Each pition and vial weighs 10 coins each. After adding their weight, this would have bumped her Movement Rate to only 30' (she's been at 60' since returning to the Moathouse), so I made an executive decision and put her gold, silver, and copper coins in her horse's saddlebag for the time being. Let me know if you do not want that, and be aware that Mal's current Encumbrance is 770 coins right now... very close to the 800-coin limit that will push her into to 30'MR margin.
