Given that all it takes is a misplaced sneeze from an ogre to outright kill Eltrezar, I'm inclined to agree. Let's just keep using hirelings as meatshields for a lower price. Stimulate the economy of Hommlet by providing renewable jobs.

Agreed. It’s a steep price! Even half is a steep price. Heck, I struggled paying the help his paltry sum! :D

Thank the gods Eltrezar didn't stick around to hear this. His grunt of protest would have alerted them without a doubt!

Lol, I knew cowleyc wouldn't be able to let it slide. I can just hear his harumphing...

OOC:
Is @Demagor still with us? Haven't really seen any posts from them since the party returned to hommlet.

Just a heads up, I'm looking at taking a trip into the Grand Tetons, and will likely be out of service from the 20th to the 24th. I'm still hashing out details, and will make sure to set any character expectations before I do leave.

Sounds good! Have fun!

Oh man what a killer trip that will be!

Snow and rain shortened my trip to four days, and I ended up hiking extra today to finish early and avoid the snow tomorrow morning. I still made it to over 10,000ft elevation (which is an accomplishment for me), and saw many wonderful things. Awe was inspired.

If anyone has suggestions on stops along my way back to the West Coast, I'm all ears.

Grand Tetons to Where? Seattle-ish?

You could head north through Montana on your way back. The Bob Marshall Wilderness is my favorite place here, but no vehicles allowed. Hiking and Pack animal only.

I don't know your route but if you go past Flagstaff the Petrified Forest is amazing and the weather is perfect right now.

I'm taking the north route back to Seattle-ish, through Montana. But I may have overestimated my body's willingness to do anything after this hike. Thanks for the recommendations, though!

Going through Great Falls? I'll buy you a beer.

I locked up the last thread as we're done in Hommlet again for the time being. Next thread for the return to the dungeons will not plane posted until probably Sunday, but my daughter is wrestling in a big tournament in Denver this weekend, so that will be hogging my attention. Sorry.

In the meantime, if you take a minute to look at the PC tracking spreadsheet, I put all your current money in the notes section of the tracker. I'm pretty sure its accurate.
I'm going to assume that you're keeping it in your horse's saddlebags to reduce encumbrance, but if you have other plans for it let me know. It is likely important where you decide to keep it.

It should also be noted that Mal is currently carrying 3 hand axes, which are really heavy, so she might want to distribute those to others.

Again, next in-game thread will start on Sunday. Sorry for the day delay.

Take your time! Good luck with the tournament! ^^

Good grief! I'm going though this campaign post-by-post inventorying horses right now, and you guys have a hell of a lot more horses that I think you realize! I'm currently at the point where you're about to first engage the bandits at the moathouse for the first time and I already have the party in possession of the following:

1 Pony
1 Mule
5 Riding Horses
1 Warhorse

You haven't even killed the bandits and taken their mounts yet.

Also there was a lot of fighting those bandits via horse back directly on that drawbridge before Coulson was killed, and not a single horse triggered the collapsing trap on the hidden percentile rolls. It's pretty ridiculous how long it took for you guys to have to deal with this situation.

Man... I really asked for that one huh?
