The first year I did this, I ended up camping in -20*F temps, so the rain I'm seeing in the forecast doesn't scare me.

Bors is about to perform what’s known as a 🔽+B.

This is exactly what I had in mind!

Bors just barely beats the horse's AC and the horse had ten HP left. Hop-along would have definitely put up a fight. In any case you'll get 35XP for your efforts.

In other news, I went to my local brewery after work last night and my FLGS is a block up the street so I usually stop inside and kick some tires and make sure they don't have anything I cant live without, and I saw this is now on their shelves.

This Goodman Games company converts old D&D modules to 5e and my store carries all of them. This newest one is their sixth conversion. I've "acquired" a couple of their other ones but I was blown away with this one. Two books?!

I have the printed module, originally written for AD&D, and the thing's like 150 pages.

This 5e conversion is two separate hardcovers at probably 300 pages each, roughly? I'm dying to see inside to see what the hell they could have done in the conversion that makes it roughly 4 times larger than the original, but it's wrapped in cellophane and that's a $100 price sticker on the back, and I'm not paying $100 just to open it up and see what a 5e conversion of the module looks like, but still...

I love Goodman Games, huge DCC fan. As much as I am heard to gripe about the run away healing and "everyone has magic" aspects of 5e, I do think it would be fun to run some the old classics in the new style. I ran a group through the 5e Ravenloft and it was a good time.

Oh weird! I didn't even realize they did DCC!

Here's to all you turkeys out there! Huzzah!

Happy Turkey day.

Well, I made a decision not to camp in the pouring, near-frozen rain that worked its way through my rain gear. But I still had my little pie and a beer next to a waterfall, so it was still a wonderful trip!

I see you all took the opportunity to talk some smack about Eltrezar while I was out. Harumph!

Hey, Mal had your back. Best torch bearer eva!

Just a heads up, my mother-in-law called tonight. My wife's dad has passed away suddenly this evening.
I don't really anticipate this interfering with our game in the long run, but as both my parents are alive and well, as were hers, we're not really sure what to anticipate.
Possibly some traveling on short notice, most likely, at least. Just not super sure, tbh. Probably a bit of disruptions for a little bit, but I intend to keep this moving forward as much as possible if only to have a moment away from time to time from what I expect will be involved.
But if things are slower that I normally run this for a little bit, it's more just other things are demanding my attention for a sec.
Aside from that, I expect I will have another post in the morning and we keep this show running.

Condolences. No worries if some things take longer, it's quite understandable.

Man I'm really sorry to hear that. Take care of business, we will be here.

Absolutely. Take it easy and don’t worry about all of us here! We’ll be here if you want to blow off steam.

Did we have any more doors to explore? There's the secret one on the ground floor we couldn't open, and there's the pillar ladder going to the darkness below.

You're correct. To the best of the party's knowledge all obvious doors have been explored. The party is aware of two secret doors: the one upstairs on the ground level, which you've been unable to figure out how to open, so far, and there's the one spiraling down, through the pillar in the torture chamber. If there's any other doors in this place, they're secret ones and they've so far been undiscovered.

Just a read on the group right now. Do we want to put out feelers for a fifth player or are we good with having the four we have now and you just use hirelings to pad the party a bit? I'm good with either to be honest. You four have been consistent and seem to do well enough on your own, and your choices of hirelings have at least proven themselves useful so far, if not somewhat suspect in one way or another. Adding a new player to the game has shown to be a bit of a gamble as far as consistency on posts goes.

Usually, after a party member left I'd post a "looking for" post, and I forgot to this time around, and nobody spoke up and reminded me, so maybe we're good with what we have? I'll leave it up to you.
