Step two of the plan. Make Gnoll-costumes and go assassinate Mudclaw at Three Trees.

Wow! Gutsy move with the fly spell! Churns my stomach a little of course but pretty brilliant solution to our problem.

My son’s memorial service is today. Basically just a celebration of his life. I’ll try and get a post in this evening, but I’m not sure if we have company to "entertain" afterwards.

Went to the mountains with some friends the day after my son's memorial service and found Amanita pantherina near Lincoln, MT. It's my favorite species of mushroom, and only the 3rd time I've ever actually found it, so that was pretty nice. It's technically edible, and has psychoactive properties if you do, but it's not a very fun trip to go on from what I've read, so I've never messed with it. But it's definitely beautiful to look at.

Also found some sort of Russula, I'm pretty sure (didn't dissect any of them or take any spore prints).

And this guy.

I'm tentatively leaning towards the last pic being Amanita gemmata, but there's no sign of the universal veil (little white patches or "warts" on the cap, a common but not always necessary feature in different species of the Amanita genus), and I made no further dissection and took no spore prints, so I'm not 100% on my identification for this guy. But the Panther Mushroom I'm positive I identified correctly.

Wait, the username is accurate!
I feel like I’ve never seen an interesting mushroom before. Maybe Ireland and Korea just dont have them, though I admit that I haven’t actually looked specifically for them. But I’ve spent time outdoors!
Looks like fun-gi!

Oh wow great finds! I'm a big fan of Amanitas (wink) and I used to love spore printing although I haven't done so in a long time. All my cousins are mushroom farmers (both gourmet and otherwise) so there's a lot of love for fungus in my family.

Hiking around the Pacific Northwest, I see all sorts of fun mushrooms! And a friend and I keep talking about learning to identify them... But the guide she got me as a gift once (more like a pamphlet) hasn't been useful at all. Comically so.
But I did find a morrel once! Only identified it after the hike since I didn't know the difference between real and false.

Mushrooms Demystified by David Arora has been my go-to book for years. Weighing in at over a thousand pages, it's definitely not a pamphlet, but it's written in a way that allows a layperson like myself to understand the scientific terminology, and it has a really good keying system, so you just run down the line and answer a bunch of yes/no questions and it gets you to your genus/species. I wouldn't say that it's the best book if you want lots of colored pictures and stuff, but it's a great book at getting you to your identification without relying on pictures.

Sorry. Daughter's wrestling in the 16U and Junior National Championships in Fargo this week, so I've been a bit distracted.

Oh dang! I knew I liked Spuignor, but now he managed to put into words what Eltrezar has been feeling! Everyone expects him to be some great warrior, when he's just an old man with a spell and some working knowledge of the Ogre language! You've all become too distrustful!

For the record Mal has never cast judgments on Eltrezar for running... That beef is between he and Gilly. Mal was down for the count during that little situation.

BUT Mal was super suspicious of Spuignor in the tunnels, when he had been a pretty nice dude all along. Trust!
