Just so no one thinks I'm willy-nilly violating my alignment, here is the dogma of the Church of Cuthbert from it's Fandom page:

"Mortal laws are to be respected, but if they must be broken to preserve the law of the god, so be it. An enemy of the church is branded a Lawbreaker – the most heinous condemnation the clergy can hand out – and dealt with mercilessly.

The church of St. Cuthbert does not believe in redemption, only in retribution. Its members do not hesitate to make examples of enemies. An eye for an eye is not enough for the Church. When it comes to a Lawbreaker, only a head for an eye can balance the scales."

Oh, I believe it. St. Cuthbert is a no-nonsense dealer of justice and dope hats. Possibly one of my favorite deities from D&D.
Jan 5, 2021 5:40 pm
Bwahahaha!! Dope hats indeed! Yeah Cuthbert ain't got time for red tape when it comes to frontier justice.

Yep it was me indeed looking at barbarian originally. I’ll roll another set of stats and compare to the two I already have and get a meat shield made up.

I was enjoying Coulson, and I’m glad (and sad) that Sister Alice has took his ending with the righteous anger she is displaying

Yeah, there's a bit of information in the module we're using on how St. Cuthbert does their thing, and I think Alice is playing the part pretty accurate.

You guys may or may not also notice I deleted a bunch of map pics from the thread. Turns out I was revealing a lot of unexplored area. So if your memory is good, you have a good layout of the Moathouse. If your memory sucks like mine, maps posted from here on have a lot of black on them.

Here's an accurate representation of what has already been discovered:

Are we dropping this fool before the Halfling has an opportunity to object?
Jan 5, 2021 9:47 pm
Am I having an out of body experience? I’m floating above the keep and seeing my dead husk of a body just lying there.....

Hahahaha. Kill that fool. Get some badlands justice

Cripes, I'm such a pushover I almost wanted to spare the poor bastard. And then when you mentioned the cat... Lmfao!

Why are we so excited about a free warhorse (with a small scratch), when we just took a small fort for ourselves?
Jan 5, 2021 11:32 pm
Be sure... (Goes back and double checks NPC's name...)

Be sure, Archibald said they by no means sacked this fort. They were kept in complete fear by the sounds they heard at night, barricaded themselves in one room, and even the leader mentioned he wanted nothing more than to finish whatever task was at hand and leave.

So, we have no way to save Coulson? Since the game doesn't seem to have any skills, at least there are none on Angel's cs, can we make things up as we go along, like first aid? In his early years running through the city, Abel always used to get into scrapes and had to learn quickly how to stop bleeding, bind wounds and maybe even counteract poison. He certaily coulnd't afford to visit a chirurgeon.

@Aldusian: I love the desperation tonsave our friend Coulson, but the dwarf has passed.

In theory you could find a cleric of high enough level to cast Raise Dead, but those clerics are rare, time sensitive, expensive, and usually require a side quest.

Gilly just assassinated an entire company of mercs, what makes you think she’d object to finishing off one more? :D (She probably wouldn’t kill him herself tbh, but I think she would defer to more experienced adventurers in this regard.)
Jan 6, 2021 12:26 am
@KCC69: I assume that other players, myself as DM included, assume Gilly seems a bit naive or "innocent". It seems to be part of her "character".

She might not be. But halflings usually give that impression on more "worldly" characters.

"I'm just glad the small one didn't see me stab that horse. She seems to be in awe of me, and it would be upsetting to have seen that. Now to where did she scurry off..."

I'm not sure Eltrezar actually saw any of this happen. He was busy running back and forth on a horse.

I 100% agree that Gilly is naive and innocent. I had her sit back during the execution becuase I don’t think she’d get involved.

It’s hard to reconcile that Halfling trait of good natured innocence, with the necessary work of killing people in combat (and rolling well while doing it)

It's all about playing off the lucky nature of the halflings! Looking away while shooting an arrow and striking flesh. Aiming away and starting some Rube Goldberg reaction. And screaming the entire time.
