Yeah that's a really good point, actually.

Seems like we’ve hit a sudden speed bump. How’s everyone holding up these days?

I think we're just cruising through rooms now, which is a ton of content for our illustrious GM.

That said, I'm doing quite well.

I'm looking forward to getting the vaccine. I've seen that it will be available at my local grocery store but when is still a question mark. Knowing that it's all up to local government means I shouldn't get my hopes up for a swift solution. I'm also seeing a physical therapist for my hip problems. Already after just one visit I've seen some improvement. Going back tomorrow. Also we've got a grandson with us this week for remote learning (which means he's not learning anything). Haven't seen any kids, grandkids or great grandkids since a week before Christmas so it's a rare treat, he said facetiously. After nearly a year of this I'm starting to succumb to boredom. Damn good thing I've got you guys to help me through that.

Doing well, work is slow lately, gets a bit boring but at least the weather is nice ;)

Can’t imagine what it’s like to have grandchildren. But I look forward to it. The youngest is just now a month old and... it’s been a tough month. And I feel bad for the 15 month old due to Covid. Can’t do anything. But work is starting to come back. I’m a private tutor in Korea and we are slowly starting to get back on our feet (again and again).

Glad to hear that the hip is better!

I wonder is there any job that doesn’t eventually descend into boredom. I know mine gets very paint-by-numbers after a while.

I’m a telephone linesman, climbing telegraph poles doesn’t get that boring. But explaining to all and sundry that their broadband isn’t working as fast as normal because they are all at home using it at the same time, the principles of bandwidth, and no, I can’t magically make it faster, is getting a bit boring

Oh, is that why it's taking me longer to read your messages? I thought it was just old age.

I forgot to post yesterday (or day before yesterday) that I was going to be out of town yesterday for my middle daughter's wrestling tournament. Didn't get back until late last night. Sorry about that; I usually try and give you guys a heads up.

Not that anyone asked, but if you'll indulge me a minute to dad-brag, she went undefeated yesterday, and pinned the #1-ranked girl in the state, so she made the local news last night, and the newspaper came and did a story on her today. Pretty cool...

I'm on my mobile right now, but I'll have a post in the official gameplay forum in about an hour or so.

Wow that's amazing! Could be a scholarship in there! Congrats to her and to you!

That's awesome, congrats to her!

Wow, that's so cool. I only know of one amateur wrestler. He was in the news fairly recently. Does the name Dan Gable mean anything to you? He wrestled at Iowa State and coached at the U of Iowa. I think he may have only lost one match in his entire career and, as a coach, his teams were perennial national champions. I don't know of any amateur or collegiate wrestling programs for females. But these days they're starting let women play on men's teams and men play on women's teams. It's all just a little too much for this 73 year old to digest.

While we wait...

Are glass windows in D&D created by factories that utilize the latest alchemies, or by warehouses filled with sand and fire-maddened mages flinging fireballs frivolously?
Jan 30, 2021 1:03 am
Huh, you know I always assumed they were like leaded glass windows or oiled parchment or the like. I don't think of windows much when I picture the middle ages.
Jan 30, 2021 1:04 am
Now I have to Google the history of glass.

Feel free to give us a report with what you learn.

Oh it seems the Romans used it for windows first, and it existed as a luxury mostly until the 17th century. People mostly covered portals with hides and shutters, oiled or greased paper, or thin cut bone or horn.
