I was thinking of a cyber eye that aids the character in breaking into security systems and defeating locks. I'm was thinking about giving it a disadvantage that it gives the user headaches because the resolution is so crisp or maybe it's stuck in a different wave length of light.
Given that this place is a kind of Nar Shadda or smugglers moon, would having some infamy or police worries matter much here or would those kinds of things trigger when you leave and go somewhere else? I want to kind of balance things out. Maybe the crime boss makes sure the character has a good life here, comfortable accommodations etc but when the boss says jump I say "how high?" Maybe the boss takes a cut of whatever loot I procure.
I'm thinking the character is indebted to a local crime boss or smuggler boss who managed to get them out of a sticky situation so now they kind of are at their beckon call. The character is more of a thief / cat burgler who moonlights as a singer than a conman. I'll post where I'm at currently to the character thing and we can talk me through moving the concept forward from there.
Just looked through your character sheet. Nicely done ;)
I'd suggest that your eye has the following skill bonus: Observant: +1 to any skill roll total of sleight of hand, investigation and search
As long as you didn't commit any serious crime like murder, piracy, armed robbery or the like the police forces will leave you alone as long as you stay peaceful.
Maybe the sticky situation you were in was the loss of your eye due to an infection. A burglar needs both eyes for three dimensional perception. So a local crime boss paid for the medical treatment and the implant. Now you have to pay him back. Of course with interest.
This would also be a disadvantage that'd balance out the cybernetic eye
That's just a suggestion of course
If you are indebted to a crime boss with influence in the whole sector you'd gain another skill die because it would be a disadvantage of rank two.
