Straj wraps his mighty tentacles around the entire forward section of the warship and starts the pull. Human crew members respond in panicked surprise. Some run and take cover. Others fire their handguns and rifles at your tentacles, but their little pea shooters do nothing more than tickle you.

You begin dragging the warship through the water and away from your oncoming comrades. You can hear and feel the vessel’s engines trying to fight you with 54,000 shaft horsepower of propulsion. It’s not easy, of course, and it takes almost all of your strength to succeed, but Straj forcefully pulls the Dauntless off of its heading toward the island and the sentai.

OOC:
Yep you’ll stay grappled as long as you want, since the ship can’t resist your grapple (it’s a ship). However, you’ll need to keep making Strength checks each turn since that’s something the ship can oppose. But keep in mind that you can’t really do much else while grappling or being grappled, other than to keep moving.

And in the previous situation, the Notice check won’t cause a multi action penalty.

OOC:
Okay, that concludes Round 4. Players may draw actions cards for Round 5 initiative.

To recap, Straj is currently grappling the Dauntless and dragging it away.

Taclydus has likely just destroyed the ship’s forward launchers and is hovering in place.

Omukade has advanced to the blockade line. The Dauntless is no longer directly in Omukade’s path. However, the ship is still within reach is Omukade wants to attack it.

Panghol is still at the weapons platform. However, he is too close for it to target him with any of its weapons.

@Taclydus, It's be 1d12+16 if you're rolling your Strength as damage. The damage is different since you are pulling at it rather than making a claw strike or blunt attack. But it doesn't matter, you succeeded anyway. You tore away the missile battery from the Dauntless at the end of last round.

Okay, players have the initiative. Kaiju may act at their discretion.

Panghol enjoys the vibration of the silver fishes exploding behind him, elated to be unscathed!

He turns his attention to the defiant metal platform challenging him and barring his way. He charges it and climbs on its legs all the way up to break the sea surface, with the dual goal of engaging it in close combat and to catch his breath after the underwater swimming and tunneling. With a roar of rage he attacks the largest weapon of the platform, that he believes to be the head of the metal monster.
OOC:
so, using the Wall Walker/Leaper abilities to climb the platform - He will try to "decapitate" the largest weapon visible in melee fight, maybe with a view to later using it as improvised weapon to throw at other enemies

Rolls

Wild die - (1d6, RA)

(1) = 1

Fighting - (1d10, RA)

(1) = 1

Omukade is filled with rage, her instincts to protect her eggs clouding her judgement. She knows the Dauntless is vulnerable to poison, at least the little bugs on it are, and she surfaces, spraying her lethal venom across the deck before moving up to the ship, intent on smashing its hull.
OOC:
Spend a bennie to remove Shaken.

Lethal Poison, Spray: 12/24/48, 4d10, ROF 1, AP 24

Then move adjacent to Dauntless

Rolls

Shooting - (1d8, 1d6, RA)

1d8 : (7) = 7

1d6 : (2) = 2

Damage, Spray: 12/24/48, 4d10, ROF 1, AP 24 - (4d10, RA)

(910616) = 32

Okay, question! Can I place myself to block Omukade's shot and what will I need for it? I imagine I do see that she is heading for the ship, but I'm not sure if I can react fast enough to block the attack.

Also, I know that it's probably unlikely to work, but can I intimidate her? :D
(Sorry, Qralloq!)

Panghol

The main deck of the weapons platform is about 100 ft/30.48 m above the ocean's surface, supported by four massive legs. You begin to scale one of the legs. However, just as your kaiju reaches the deck, a large section of the platform gives way to your weight. Metal screeches and rends as a portion of the deck snaps off. You fall back into the ocean in an epic splash, followed by dozens of metric tonnes of debris.
OOC:
Ouch! Sorry, buddy. This dice roller is ruthless. There's no real repercussion from the Critical Failure other than a turn being wasted.

OOC:
So normally you can only interrupt another character's action if you get a Joker card for your initiative, or if you are Holding an action (meaning that you are reserving your action to act later in the initiative order). However there is no set initiative order among the players in this fight, so since you haven't acted yet for the round, I'll let you interrupt Omukade if you'd like. That means you both make opposed Athletics rolls. Omukade gets a +2 to her roll because you are in the midst of grappling.

Whoever rolls highest gets to act first. In the case of a tie, both act simultaneously. Keep in mind that Straj will need to release the Dauntless from her grapple to do this.

If Straj succeeds on the Athletics roll to interrupt, then he may use that action to attempt an Intimidation.

Rolls

1d6 : (1) = 1

Let us dance then!
Edit: :0 That's a tie, right? So simultaneous acting? How does that work for interrupting?

Rolls

Athletics - (1d4)

(4) = 4

Wild - (1d6)

(3) = 3

OOC:
With the +2 bonus, Omukade ties with Straj on the Athletics roll, which means that both of you act simultaneously.

Since you are both going at the same time, I'm gonna rule that Straj is able to partially block the attack. Omukade's poison attack will do half its damage to the Dauntless, and half to Straj. Full AP in both cases.

I'm assuming that Omukade's poison is acidic, hence why it has an AP.
Straj hastily unfurls his arms from the Dauntless as he sees Omukade rearing out of the water. The giant cephalopod moves to the port side of the ship and catches some of the projectile poison before it strikes the hull. Although the attack isn't sufficient enough to cause major harm to Straj, the kaiju can still feel the acidic venom eating away at his skin. The remainder of the poison sprays on the deck of the ship, and a handful of unfortunate humans die very painful deaths. The liquid begins consuming sections of the deck, though the Dauntless hasn't suffered any serious structural damage because of it, thanks to Straj.

Omukade is now directly next to the vessel.
OOC:
Also, I just want to double check... only Straj and Omukade have used Bennies so far, correct? One each, I believe.
Oct 16, 2020 7:50 pm
OOC:
I used two Bennies!
Also, how much damage is, can you check if I math-ed correctly? XD
It's AP 24 vs Armor 30, so 6 damage is blocked, right? And I suffer... 10? So I'm Shaken and Wounded?

16 damage, but up to 24 AP. Your armor is 30, reduced to 6, which leaves 10 damage vs your Toughness, but you still have a kracken load of Tougness, so you won't take any damage.

OOC:
What Qralloq said.

Straj hasn't taken any damage. He has Toughness 49 (30). The poison attack had an AP 24, leaving Straj with Toughness 25. Half damage for the attack is 16, so that's well within Straj's ability to endure. The description about "acidic venom eating away at his skin" was just for dramatic effect. You didn't take damage, but it still hurt quite a bit.
