Feel free to talk about your character ideas, roll for stats, or anything else related to your character here.

Your character doesn't need to have any connection with the Underdark or with the other characters, prior to the start of the adventure. If you'd like your character to have a stronger Underdark connection, there are some additional background options in the sourcebook here that you can use.

Your character will start as a prisoner of the drow. When you make your character, roll 1d10 to see how many days your character has been held prisoner before the game starts. Your character may have scavenged some possession in their time there. Roll 1d20 and add the number of days that your character has been imprisoned, and I'll let you know what (if any) scavenged possession your character has found.

I'm not sure what race I want to be but thinking of playing either a Ranger or a Druid. If anyone else wants to play those classes I'm happy to change

Omg I'm gonna have a 6 for a stat....
Apr 10, 2016 7:27 pm
Just think of it this way, 6 for a stat is role-playing gold =D
Apr 10, 2016 7:52 pm
And besides, if you're a monk, do you really need Strength for anything anyway?
Apr 10, 2016 8:19 pm
Yeah that's why i like rolling. Great rp stuff there.

Im still thinking of a character idea. I want to be a wizard that focuses in the school of necromancy. So, I want to summon undead and stuff. Not sure how I should approach his background. I dont really like going in expecting anything from the story. What kind of motivation type should I be looking at to make this process easier for me? xD

Everyone is going to start as prisoners of the drow, so I suspect a lot of the initial driving force is just going to be escape and trying to get out of the Underdark (all though that's all up to you guys!). You could have been abducted from pretty much anywhere, theoretically, so really, you can have pretty much whatever background you like for your character. You could have some sort of connection to or reason for being in the Underdark, but that's not necessary. Figuring out how your character got abducted or trying to get back to the work you were doing before might even be part of your character's motivation.

Alright, I think Im not going to have any direct connection to the Underdark. I'll try to set up my backstory so you have something to work with. Like, I'd rather not know why I was abducted and have to figure it out. But, I'll try to make an interesting background!

Sounds great, Valcos.

Also, just a note to everyone, even though your characters all start as prisoners in the Underdark, still pick out your possessions and equipment as normal. That way the drow can know what they stole from you =D

Decided that I am going to go with a Dragonborn ranger and will use some of the alternative backgrounds, to fit around the back story.

Got some decent rolls

15,18,15,15,15,14

I'll start putting the character together

Yup, variant humans are fine.
Apr 11, 2016 8:53 pm
Then I will be rolling up a human paladin.

I'm thinking of using a wood-elf monk concept I had. He's not a particularly talkative guy, and doesn't have any kind of sense-of-humour, But he's a good guy. I like him. He's very direct.

//Edit: Oof, not great rolls. But I can work with it. 14, 7, 15, 10, 8, 8. Maybe I'll change the character concept then, there is a brain-damaged paladin concept I was working on...

A five?!! I don't think that's supposed to be possible for a PC.
