Or could we revert to point buy/standard array if the roller is against us? Pretty please Baktrax!

I'm thinking of using a wood-elf monk concept I had. He's not a particularly talkative guy, and doesn't have any kind of sense-of-humour, But he's a good guy. I like him. He's very direct.

//Edit: Oof, not great rolls. But I can work with it. 14, 7, 15, 10, 8, 8. Maybe I'll change the character concept then, there is a brain-damaged paladin concept I was working on...
This is exactly what I was gonna do....
Which one were you gonna do? The woodsy monk, the brain-damaged pally or just the crappy roll?
Apr 12, 2016 4:12 pm
Well I'm already making a paladin...

A five?!! I don't think that's supposed to be possible for a PC.
Hey, I've seen great PCs with 4's for a stat =D

Haha, I'm starting two campaigns at the same time so I'm forgetting what I'm posting in one group and not the other. Absolutely, if anyone's unhappy with their rolls, I'm fine if you want to retroactively decide to do point buy or the standard array.

I'll also say for anyone who got three or more stats below 10, you can reroll. Don't say I never gave you anything haha =D

Okay, I shall reroll just because rolling is fun. However, to make it more entertaining, I will prelock the roll to a stat. Hopefully it doesn't turn out too sour lol

Rolls

Str - (4d6)

(5345) = 17

Dex - (4d6)

(5234) = 14

Con - (4d6)

(6455) = 20

Int - (4d6)

Cha - (4d6)

(6365) = 20

Haha, of course. The higher your stats, the more I can throw at you =D

Actually flug, you can play the monk. I had an idea for a fighter recently.

Thanks. Or I was thinking a pair of monks travelling together could be fun. Imagine the martial arts hijinks that two monks could get up to!

Going to reroll and whatever I get I will keep (he says with a very fluttery feeling in his stomach). I'm not quite brave enough to follow Valcos' lead and lock the stats in beforehand though.

Rolls

4d6

(6324) = 15

4d6

(5463) = 18

4d6

(1126) = 10

4d6

(5322) = 12

4d6

(5425) = 16

4d6

(1115) = 8

13, 15, 9, 10, 14, 7 - a big improvement.

Okay can I get a quick rundown of what everyone's playing? I can't decide on a character but I want an idea of what's been taken.
Apr 15, 2016 6:37 pm
I've made a dragonborn ranger
Apr 15, 2016 6:37 pm
As far as I can remember;

Paladin
Bard/cleric
Monk

I know you've already rejected this idea but I thought I would give it one more try; play another monk. We could be on a mission together, the monastery sends out teams in pairs so both yin and yang are represented. We can do all kinds of crazy martial arts combos but there is still an underlying rivalry stemming from our different approach to/ interpretation of our creed.

It could be lots of fun.

Of course it's up to you.

We could be Ken and Ryu!

:-)

That actually does sound like a lot of fun. I kind of want to play a warlock, but I'm having trouble coming up with an idea for one. I do however already have a monk all fleshed out. So if I can't come up with something for a warlock, then I think I will definitely take you up on that offer :)

Oh actually, that might not work with my specific monk. He comes from a family of monks that..lets say don't hold the traditional standards of a monastery. They're more trained as assassins.

I'm having trouble fleshing this character out... its frustrating because I want a specific feel but I can't put my finger on it yet.

How about this idea?

You family/clan/brotherhood were responsible for the death of my family. Vowing revenge I made a pact with a fiend and went out into the world to track them down. Neither of us know the link we have together and we hopefully become friends before its revealed. Maybe one of the other members of the party finds out first and we leave them with the quandary of what to do about it.

Obviously that makes me a warlock. I've never had a bladelock yet so this seems like a good opportunity.
